Satan has trapped many with a selfish desire for independence. (2 Corinthians 11:3)
He catches others by promoting greed, pride, and materialism. Still others he misleads by such philosophies as patriotism, evolution, and false religion. (Col. 2:8) And many have been lured into the trap of illicit sex relations. Such spiritually harmful plagues have caused millions to lose their love for God. (Ps. 91:7-10; Matt. 24:12) How comforting it is to know that heavenly angels guide and protect us so that we can preach the good news. (Rev. 14:6) Also, “the faithful and discreet slave” provides spiritual food to protect us against the teaching of evolution, the enticement of immoral desires, the pursuit of riches and prominence, and numerous other harmful desires and influences.—Matt.

Hilkiah the priest found the book of Jehovah’s law.—2 Chron. 34:14.
Hilkiah handed the book to the royal secretary Shaphan who, in turn, began to read its contents to Josiah. (2 Chron. 34:14-18) What was the effect? The king immediately ripped his garments apart in grief and instructed the men to consult Jehovah. Through the prophetess Huldah, God provided a message condemning some of the religious practices that had been carried on in Judah. Yet, Josiah’s good efforts to remove idolatrous practices were noted, and he remained in Jehovah’s favor despite the calamities predicted for the nation as a whole. (2 Chron. 34:19-28) Surely our desire is the same as Josiah’s was. We want to respond to Jehovah’s direction promptly, taking to heart the warning example of what can happen if we allow apostasy and unfaithfulness to encroach on our worship. And we can be confident that Jehovah will note with approval our zeal for true worship, just as he did in Josiah’s case.
He will give his own angels a command concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.—Psalms. 91:11.

Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 [American Standard Version; ASV]
To win Almighty God’s (YHWH’s) approval we must have faith and must do as he directs. This reality is made clear throughout the scriptures. When the nation of ancient Israel exercised faith in him, he gave them protection against their enemies, but when they lacked faith and obedience, he gave them up to their enemies.
Noah proved faithful and followed Almighty God’s (YHWH’s) directions as testified to at Hebrews 11:7 [ASV], “By faith Noah, being warned of God concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” Also, Abraham exercised faith at testified to at Hebrews 11:8 [ASV], “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out unto a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” We today must exercise faith and follow His guidance as found in his inspired word, the Bible.

(Ecclesastes 3:11) Jesus (Yeshua) Christ once said at Matthew 5:3, “Happy, the destitute, in spirit; for, theirs, is the kingdom of the heavens;” (RB).
Thus, we all have a ‘spiritual need’ – how else could one explain all those religious edifices and artifacts, all those countless hours spent in prayer? Of course, some people look to themselves or to their fellow humans to fill spiritual needs. Therefore, do you not sense, though, that humans are just too limited to help adequately? Only someone far wiser, more powerful, more enduring than we are can give us what we need. And just what are these spiritual needs that drive us to pray?
Consider; Have you ever yearned for guidance, wisdom, or answers to questions that seem beyond the reach of human knowledge? Have you ever felt in need of comfort when wounded by a terrible loss, of guidance when faced with an agonizing decision, or of forgtiveness when crushed by guilt?
According to inspired word of Almighty God (YHWH), the Bible, those are all valid reasons to pray. And the Bible is the most reliable and credible book on this subject, and it contains a record of prayers of many faithful men and women. They prayed for comfort, for guidance, for forgiveness, and for answers to the most difficult of questions. (Psalm 23:3; 71:21; Daniel 9:4-5 and 19; Habakkuk 1:3).

Keep walking by spirit.—Galatians 5:16.
“Walking by spirit” involves accepting the action of the holy spirit upon you, allowing the holy spirit to influence you. You might say that it means to be governed by the holy spirit in your daily activities. Galatians chapter 5 brings out the contrast between being under the influence of the holy spirit and that of the flesh. (Gal. 5:17, 18) If you are under the influence of the holy spirit, you seek to refrain from the works of the flesh. Those include such things as “fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunken bouts, revelries.” (Gal. 5:19-21) In a sense, you “put the practices of the body to death by the spirit.” (Rom. 8:5, 13) It will help to set your mind on the things of the spirit and cooperate with its leadings, rather than let yourself be controlled by fleshly desires.

And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luke 1:34 [American Standard Version; ASV]
Mary, the mother of Jesus (Yeshua) was puzzled when an angel told her at Luke 1:28 to 33, “And he came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee. 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this might be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. 31 And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.” [ASV] as she was NOT having sexual relations with any man. The use of the work ‘know’ here is the ancient way of speaking about sexual relations. However, the angel went on to say, “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God. 36 And behold, Elisabeth thy kinswoman, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her that was called barren. 37 For no word from God shall be void of power. 38 And Mary said, Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.’ (Luke 1:35 to 38, [ASV] ). In fact, Joseph to whom she was betrothed at the time thought about breaking his betrothal when he found that she was pregnant, for details see Matthew 1:19 to 25.
The above clearly shows that at the time of Jesus’ birth, Mary was a virgin, but she did not remain a virgin after his birth as Jesus’ had brothers and sisters (i.e., half brothers and sisters as his Father was Almighty God, and their father was Joseph.) This is shown at Matthew 13:55 to 57, “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? 57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.” [ASV].

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Galatians 5:19
This scripture clearly shows, many life styles are NOT approved by Almighty God (YHWH), and this REALITY is further highlighted at 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” (AV)
And this is made even more clear at Romans 1:19-29, “Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,”
And for men to want other men for forbidden sexual pleasures has always been wrong as shown By Leviticus 18:22-24, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:”
And by Jude 7-8, “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (none existence) Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.”
And by Leviticus 20:13, “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” (this shows a principle as we are no longer under the ancient Old Law Covenant made with the ancient nation of Israel.)
Now this in no way gives anyone the right to judge or harass others as shown by Leviticus 19:17-18, “Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.”

Turn away from what is bad, and do what is good; Seek to find peace, and pursue it. Psalms 34:14.
All should seek after peace and pursue it, and not strive with others if they can avoid it. In fact, doing so may win others over with respect to being peaceful with you. Isaac put this into practice in dealing with herdsmen of Gerar, “And the servants of Isaac went on digging in the torrent valley and so they found there a well of fresh water. 20 And the shepherds of Ge?rar fell to quarreling with the shepherds of Isaac, saying: “The water is ours!” Hence he called the name of the well E?sek, because they had contended with him. 21 And they went digging another well, and they fell to quarreling over it also. Hence he called its name Sit?nah.” (Genesis 26:19 to 21), but Isaac did not fight with these bullies. He moved further away and dug another well that the bullies did not quarrel with him over with and this event was recorded at Genesis 26:22, “Later he moved away from there and dug another well, but they did not quarrel over it. Hence he called its name Re·ho?both and said: “It is because now Jehovah has given us ample room and has made us fruitful in the earth.”
His handling the matter is a peaceful way later proved good for Isaac as he later concluded a covenant with the bullies after Almighty God (YHWH) appeared to him and blessed him as recorded at Genesis 26:24 to 29, “And Jehovah proceeded to appear to him during that night and to say: “I am the God of Abraham your father. Do not be afraid, because I am with you, and I will bless you and multiply your seed on account of Abraham my servant.” 25 Accordingly he built an altar there and called on the name of Jehovah and pitched his tent there, and the servants of Isaac went excavating a well there. 26 Later on A·bim?e·lech came to him from Ge?rar with A·huz?zath his confidential friend and Phi?col the chief of his army. 27 At this Isaac said to them: “Why have YOU come to me, seeing that YOU yourselves hated me and so sent me away from YOUR neighborhood?” 28 To this they said: “We have unmistakably seen that Jehovah has proved to be with you. Hence we said, ‘Let, please, an oath of obligation occur between us, between us and you, and let us conclude a covenant with you, 29 that you will do nothing bad toward us just as we have not touched you and just as we have done only good toward you in that we sent you away in peace. You now are the blessed of Jehovah”’. So Isaac’s striving for peace proved fruitful for him, and in accordance with striving for peace won Almighty God’s (YHWH’s) approval.

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. Isaiah 13:19 [American Standard Version; ASV]
Babylon was a great and powerful city in its time, but Almighty God (YHWH) foretold its destruction and non-inhabitance after defeat by Cyrus over 200 years before he was even born. Isaiah recorded His prophecy of judgment against Babylon. (Isaiah 13:29 to 23, and Isaiah 14:22 to 24). This prophecy was very clear and details were given to show just how this would occur; to wit, Invading armies of Cyrus would dry up Babylon’s river and march into the city without a battle. But this is not all. Isaiah’s prophecy even named the king who would conquer Babylon. (Isaiah 44:27 to Isaiah 45:2).
This prophecy of doom against Babylon was realized some 200 years later – on the night of October 5/6, 539 B.C.E. an army encamped near Babylon and its commander was a Persian king named Cyrus. The stage was set for the fulfillment of this amazing prophecy, and the invasion took place exactly as prophesized.
