SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing: Genesis 12:2 [American Standard Version; ASV]
Almighty God (YHWH) made a promise to Abraham because he had done what was asked of him per Genesis 12:1, “Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will show thee:” Which clearly shows that He rewards those who obey him. (Genesis 12:3-4).

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ: Colossians 2:8 [American Standard Version; ASV]
The Apostle Paul, a spiritual shepherd, wrote the above to his brothers in Colossae. This warning as well as the Apostle Peter’s warning of ‘false prophets’ and ‘false teachers’ who would try to, “But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.” 2 Peter 2:1, and “having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; enticing unstedfast souls; having a heart exercised in covetousness; children of cursing;” 2 Peter 2:14. We must guard against being mislead by such ones.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out. Ezekiel 34:11 [American Standard Version; ASV]
Here Almighty God (YHWH) compares himself to a shepherd. This is significant as it helps us to understand what He is like. A loving human shepherd takes full responsibility for the survival and welfare of the flock of sheep under his care; likewise Almighty God (YHWH) does so for his true followers. (Ezekiel 34:12-15). He leads them to pasture and to water sources, (Psalms 21:1-2); watches over them by day and by night (Luke 2:8): protects them from predators (1 Samuel 17:34-35); carries the newborn (Isaiah 40:11); searches for strays, and cares well for sheep that are injured, (Ezekiel 34:16).

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Your people will be my people, and your God my God.—Ruth 1:16.
As a girl, Ruth had probably worshipped Chemosh and the other gods of Moab, but she came to know the true God, Jehovah, and she married an Israelite who had come to take refuge in her land. (Ruth 1:1-6) Later, as Ruth and her sister-in-law, Orpah, started out with their mother-in-law, Naomi, for Bethlehem, Naomi urged the two young women to return home. It would not be easy for them to settle in Israel. Orpah indeed “returned to her people and her gods,” but Ruth did not. (Ruth 1:15) She acted on her faith and knew to whom she wanted to belong. She told Naomi: “Do not plead with me to abandon you, to turn back from accompanying you; for where you go I shall go, and where you spend the night I shall spend the night.” Because of her choice to serve Jehovah, Ruth benefited from God’s Law, which made special provision for widows and for the poor and landless. Under Jehovah’s wings, she found happiness, protection, and security.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
I am making all things new.—Revelation 21:5.
Those who have not as yet made a definite decision in favor of Jehovah should prayerfully consider the benefits that God’s way of ruling will bring to mankind. Human rule has been unable to solve the problem of crime, including terrorism. God’s rule will remove all the wicked from the earthly scene. (Ps. 37:1, 2, 9) Man’s rule has led to incessant warfare, but God’s rule will make “wars to cease to the extremity of the earth.” (Ps. 46:9) Why, God’s rule will even restore peace between humans and animals! (Isa. 11:6-9) Poverty and hunger have been constant features under human rule, but God’s rule will eliminate them. (Isa. 65:21) Under God’s rule, the old and the sick will delight in a return to youthful vigor. (Job 33:25; Isa. 35:5, 6) Indeed, the earth will become a paradise in which there will even be a resurrection of the dead.—Luke 23:43; Acts 24:15.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
O the depth of God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable his judgments are and past tracing out his ways are!—Romans 11:33.
Immediately after Adam and Eve sinned, Jehovah revealed the way that he would undo all the bad effects caused by their rebellion. (Gen. 3:15) Such immediate action, as well as his progressively revealing details of this purpose to his servants, brought Jehovah’s wisdom into sharp focus. Nothing can impede God’s ability to handle matters successfully. In a world marked by immorality, war, unreasonableness, disobedience, mercilessness, partiality, and hypocrisy, Jehovah has had ample opportunity to demonstrate to his creatures what real wisdom is. The disciple James said: “The wisdom from above is first of all chaste, then peaceable, reasonable, ready to obey, full of mercy and good fruits, not making partial distinctions, not hypocritical.”—Jas. 3:17.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
The two will be one flesh.—Matthew 19:5.
Marriage is a relationship that requires a high level of commitment. Two people who merely live together without getting married can never enjoy real security; neither can their children. But partners who are committed to each other in honorable marriage have an impelling Scriptural reason for striving to resolve their difficulties with love when problems arise. (Matt. 19:6; 1 Cor. 13:7, 8; Heb. 13:4) In Bible times, people benefited from having binding contracts in business and employment. (Matt. 20:1, 2, 8) Today, the same holds true. For example, we benefit from having a binding written agreement, or written contract, before we begin a business venture or start working as an employee in a company. Hence, if commitment enhances relationships such as friendship, marriage, and employment, how much more will making an unreserved dedication benefit you in your relationship with Jehovah!

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luke 1:34 [American Standard Version; ASV]
Mary, the mother of Jesus (Yeshua) was puzzled when an angel told her at Luke 1:28 to 33, “And he came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee. 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this might be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. 31 And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.” [ASV] as she was NOT having sexual relations with any man. The use of the work ‘know’ here is the ancient way of speaking about sexual relations. However, the angel went on to say, “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God. 36 And behold, Elisabeth thy kinswoman, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her that was called barren. 37 For no word from God shall be void of power. 38 And Mary said, Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.’ (Luke 1:35 to 38, [ASV] ). In fact, Joseph to whom she was betrothed at the time thought about breaking his betrothal when he found that she was pregnant, for details see Matthew 1:19 to 25.
The above clearly shows that at the time of Jesus’ birth, Mary was a virgin, but she did not remain a virgin after his birth as Jesus’ had brothers and sisters (i.e., half brothers and sisters as his Father was Almighty God, and their father was Joseph.) This is shown at Matthew 13:55 to 57, “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? 57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.” [ASV].

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12.
Now why did the Apostle Paul use the term 'wrestling'? Because it conveys the idea of hand-to-hand combat and a struggle at close quarters. Thus, by using that term, Paul stressed that each individual has a personal fight with wicked spirits. Whether we live in a country where belief in wicked spirits is prevalent or not, we should never forget that when we were baptized (dedicated our selves to Almighty God (YHWH)), we stepped on the wrestling mat so to speak. At least from dedication onward, each genuine follower of Jesus (Yeshua) Christ is locked in combat with the forces of evil. No wonder that Paul saw the need to urge Christians in Ephesus three times to "stand firm"! (Ephesians 6:11, 13-14).
