SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Monday]
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. 1 John 5:19 (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
Listening to the world news, you have probably noticed that bad things are sometimes done in the name of religion. Not all religion originates with the true God and this is clearly shown at Matthew 7:15, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” [AV]. Indeed, much of mankind has been misled.
Nevertheless, God has taken note of sincere people who love what is good and true. (John 4:23) God is inviting such people to learn the truth from his Word, the Bible. “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:3 – 5, [AV].

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Wednesday]
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Matthew 22:37 (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
Almighty God’s (YHWH) Son, Jesus Christ, declared: “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” (John 14:31 [AV]) Jesus also said: “For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.” (John 5:20 [AV]) That should not surprise us. After all, for ages during Jesus’ prehuman existence, he was God’s “master worker.” (Prov. 8:30 [ASV]) As Jehovah and Jesus worked together, the Son learned much about his Father’s qualities and had innumerable reasons to love him. In fact, close association evidently caused their mutual love to grow.
Love involves a feeling of deep affection for someone. The psalmist David sang: “I have affection for you, O Jehovah, my strength.” (Ps. 18:1 [NWTr]) That is how we should feel about God, for he has affection for us. If we obey Almighty God (JHVH), he will show his love for us per Deuteronomy 7:12 – 13, [AV] “Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers: And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.” Now the question each must ask himself, But can we really love God, since we cannot see him? What does it mean to love Almighty God (JHVH)? Why should we love him? And how can we show our love for God?

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Thursday]
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13 – 14 (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
Jehovah gives everyone on earth the opportunity to gain everlasting life. To have eternal life in Paradise, however, we must worship God properly and live now in a way that is acceptable to him. Sadly, many refuse to do so. That is why Jesus clearly showed the difference between the two paths individuals could take, and showed that true religion leads to everlasting life. False religion leads to destruction. Jehovah does not want any human to be destroyed, and that is why he is giving people everywhere an opportunity to learn about him. (2 Peter 3:9) Really, then, the way we worship God means either life or death for us.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Friday]
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. John 8:28 – 29 (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
Now, can children learn from Jesus? Yes, they can! By his own example, Jesus showed how children should obey their parents. He clearly showed that he taught just as his Father, Almighty God (YHWH) taught him. He also let it be known that he was an obedient Son and was obedient to his heavenly Father, and the Bible tells children to obey their parents. (Ephesians 6:1-3) Although Jesus was a perfect child, he obeyed his human parents, Joseph and Mary, who were imperfect. That surely contributed to the happiness of every member of Jesus’ family!—Luke 2:4, 5,51, 52.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Sunday]
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:6 – 7 (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
Almighty God (YHWH) is our Creator, and he cares for us. Just as a wise and loving father instructshis children, so God teaches people everywhere the best way to live. God reveals precious truths that fill us with joy and hope.
If you listen to God, he will guide and protect you and help you deal with problems. But there is more — You will live forever!

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Monday]
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
As Almighty God (YHWH) is a spirit, we can not see him. Yet, love for Almighty God (YHWH) is possible, and we are commanded in the Scriptures to express that love. For example, Moses told the Israelites: “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might..”—Deuteronomy 6:5, [AV].
Why can we have deep love for Almighty God (YHWH)? Because he created us with a spiritual need and endowed us with the ability to express love. When our spiritual need is properly satisfied, our love for Almighty God (YHWH) grows and we have a sound basis for happiness, as Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 5:3, [AV]) Concerning what some call humans’ innate desire to worship, it has been said: “We should stand in awe, amazement and reverence to see the universality of man’s search for, and belief in, a supreme being.”—Man Does Not Stand Alone, by Abraham C. Morrison, 1944.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Tuesday]
But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:34 – 38, (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
Our love for Jehovah should spring from the heart. Jesus made that clear when a Pharisee asked him which was the greatest commandment.
What did Jesus mean when he said that we must love God with our “whole heart”? He meant that we must love Jehovah with our entire figurative heart, affecting our desires, emotions, and feelings. We must also love him with our “whole soul,” or our life and being. Moreover, we must love God with our “whole mind,” or our full intellect. In essence, we ought to love Jehovah fully, without reservation.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Wednesday]
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth. Psalms 83:18 (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
There is only one true God, and the Bible shows his name is Jehovah (YHWH). He is a Spirit; we cannot see him. He loves us and wants us to love him in return. He also wants us to love other people. In fact, when his Son, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ was challenged by evil religious leaders of that time, “But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:34-40, [AV]) He showed that all the scriptures ‘hang’ on love, i.e., love of Almighty God (YHWH) and love of ones neighbor.
