SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Wednesday]
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Acts 2:2 – 3 [authorized King James Bible; AV]
The flocking of many humans to worship Almighty God (YHWH) with his people in this time of the end was foretold by two ancient prophets, Isaiah and Zechariah. The prophet Zechariah foretold that “Thus saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities: 21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also .22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD. 23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you..” ( Zecheriah. 8:20-23: [AV])

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Thursday]
And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face. 19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; 20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. 21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother. 22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. 23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD. Ezekiel 38:18 – 23 [authorized King James Bible; AV]
After the destruction of Babylon the Great, there will be an all-out assault on Almighty God’s (YHWH’s) people, and at that time all genuine followers of Christ will need to be under the protection that Almighty God (YHWH) will provide for his servants. Since this attack will trigger, by members of false religion such as Islam and their god Satan the Devil, the final part of the “great tribulation,” it is Almighty God (YHWH) himself who will set the stage and choose the moment for this showdown. (Matt. 24:21;Ezek. 38:2-4) At that time, Gog will attack “Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: 11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, 12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.,” Almighty God’s (YHWH’s) people. (Ezek. 38:10-12; [AV]) That attack will be the signal for the execution of Jehovah’s judgments against Gog and his hordes. Jehovah will magnify his sovereignty and sanctify his name.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Friday]
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be thou perfect. Genesis 17:1 [American Standard Version; ASV]
The four main attributes of Almighty God (YHWH) found beautiful expression in Jesus (Yeshua). He had power over disease, hunger, even death. Yet unlike selfish men who abuse their power, he never used miraculous power in his own behalf or to hurt others. (Matthew 4:2 – 4). He loved justice, His heart was filled with righteous indignation at seeing unfair merchants exploiting the people. (Matthew 21:12 – 13). He treated the poor and downtrodden with impartiality helping such ones to ‘find refreshment’ for their souls. (matthew 11:4 – 5, 28 -30). There was matchless wisdom in the teachings of Jesus (Yeshua), who was more than Solomon. (Matthew 12:42). But He never made a showy display of his wisdom. His words reached the hearts of common people, for his teachings were clear, simple, and practical.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Saturday]
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Ge 1:26 (Authorized King James Bible; AV)
Many puzzle at this scripture since we are surely not made in their physical likeness. When man was created, he was made in God’s image, according to his likeness. This, of course, did not mean physical image or appearance, for God is a Spirit, and man is flesh. (Ge 6:3; Joh 4:24) It meant that man, was different from the “unreasoning animals” (2Pe 2:12), had reasoning power; he had attributes like those of God, such as love, a sense of justice, wisdom, and power. (Compare Col 3:10.) He had the ability to understand why he existed and his Creator’s purpose toward him. Hence he, unlike the animals, was given the capacity for spirituality. He could appreciate and worship his Creator. This capacity created a need in Adam. He needed more than literal food; he had to have spiritual sustenance; his spirituality had to be exercised for his mental and physical welfare. Since we are fleshly and they are spiritual beings. In fact, all human societies, be they primitive and/or advanced had an in-born need to worship is some fashion; whereas, NONE of the animals had this need.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Sunday]
And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: Mark 7:14 [authorized King James Bible; AV]
An individual may hear the sounds of someone speaking to him. He may even note the tone of voice. But of what use would that be to him if he did not understand the meaning of the words being spoken? (1 Cor. 14:9) In a similar way, thousands heard what Jesus (Yeshua) was saying. He even spoke to them in a language that they could understand. However, not all of them understood the meaning of his words. For this reason, Jesus (Yeshua) told his audience listen to gain understanding.:
Why did many fail to understand the meaning of what Jesus said? Some had preconceived opinions and wrong motives. Jesus said of such ones: “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” (Mark 7:9; [AV]) These people did not really try to get the meaning of his words. They did not want to change their ways and views. Their ears may have been open, but their hearts were tightly shut! (Matthew 13:13-15.) How, though, can we make sure that our hearts remain open so that we can benefit from Jesus’ teaching?

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Monday]
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. Matthew 13:16 [authorized King James Bible; AV]
We need to follow the example of Jesus’ (Yeshua’s) humble disciples. Why were they able to understand when others were not? First, they were willing to ask questions and to search for the real meaning behind Jesus’ (Yeshua’s) words per Matthew 13:36, [AV], “Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.” i.e., they wanted to understand when the others did not. ( Mark 7:17) Second, they were willing to build on what they had already accepted in their hearts. ( Matthew 13:11, 12.) Third, they were willing to use what they had heard and understood, not only in their personal lives but also in their efforts to help others.—(Matt. 13:51, 52.)

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Tuesday]
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Psalms 2:4 – 5, [authorized King James Bible; AV]
If we want to understand Jesus’ illustrations, we need to follow the example of his faithful disciples. This also involves three steps. First, we need to be willing to take the time to study and meditate on what Jesus said, Second, to do the necessary research, and Third, to ask the appropriate questions. This leads to knowledge. (Prov. 2:4, 5) Next, we need to see how that knowledge fits in with what we already know, discerning its benefit to us personally. That results in understanding. (Prov. 2:2, 3) Finally, we should use what we have learned, putting it into action in our lives. This shows wisdom on our part.—(Prov. 2:6, 7).

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Wednesday]
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 1 Timothy 4:16, [authorized King James Bible; AV]
What is the difference between knowledge, understanding, and wisdom? It could be illustrated this way: Imagine you are standing in the middle of a road and a bus is coming toward you. First, you recognize that it is a bus—that is knowledge. .Next, you realize that if you remain standing there, you will be hit by the bus—that is understanding! So you jump out of the way of the bus—that is wisdom! Little wonder the Bible emphasizes the need for us to “safeguard practical wisdom.” It means our very life!—(Prov. 3:21, 22);

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Thursday]
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: 32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof. Matthew 13:31 – 32, [authorized King James Bible; AV]
What is the meaning of Jesus’ illustration of the mustard grain? The grain itself represents the Kingdom message as well as what results from the preaching of that message—the Christian congregation. Like the mustard grain that is “the tiniest of all the seeds,” the Christian congregation had small beginnings in 33 C.E. However, within a few decades, the congregation grew rapidly. It expanded beyond all expectations. (Col. 1:23) This growth was beneficial because Jesus tells us that “the birds of air” were able to “find lodging among its branches.” These figurative birds picture right hearted individuals who find spiritual food, shade, and shelter within the Christian congregation.—

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [Friday]
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Matthew 13:44 – 46, [authorized King James Bible; AV]
What is the meaning of the illustration about the traveling merchant and that of the hidden treasure? In Jesus’ day, some merchants would travel as far as the Indian Ocean to obtain the finest pearls. The merchant in this illustration represents right hearted people who go to great lengths to satisfy their spiritual needs. The “one pearl of high value” pictures the precious truth of the Kingdom. Having recognized the value of that pearl, the merchant was willing to sell “promptly” all the things he had so that he could buy it. Jesus also spoke of a man who was working in a field and found “hidden” treasure. Unlike the merchant, this man was not searching for treasure. But like the merchant, he was willing to sell “everything” in order to obtain the treasure.
Why did Jesus give those two parables? He was showing that the truth is found in different ways. Some people are searching for it and have gone to great lengths to find it. Others, although not searching for it, have found it—perhaps by having it brought to them. Whatever the case, each man recognized the value of what he had found and was willing to make huge sacrifices to get a hold of it.
