Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Thursday]

Thou art fairer than the children of men; Grace is poured into thy lips: Therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.  Psalm 45:2  [American Standard Version; ASV]

While the Bible says very little about Jesus”(Yeshua’s) physical appearance.  Undoubtedly, as a perfect man, he was good looking.  However, his outstanding qualities came from his faithfulness to Almighty God (YHWH), and his unbending integrity.  In addition, Jesus (Yeshua) used ‘gracious speech’ when he preached the message of the Kingdom. (Luke 4:22, John 7:46)  Do we personally endeavor to follow His example in our speaking to others with respect biblical things?  Do we try to use words that will reach people’s heart?  (Colossians 4:6).

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Friday]

So when he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and sat down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?  John 13:12  [American Standard Version; ASV]

This Jesus (Yeshua) Christ did to show his disciples the need to show humility when they were being preoccupied with the question of who among them would become the greatest in the Kingdom.  (John 13:13-15)  He instead of losing patience with them, continued to teach his disciples and to give them loving counsel about manifesting humility.  (Luke 9:46-48, 22, 24-27)  By washing their feet, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ provided an object lesson in humility, a quality that all genuine followers of His need to develop and display.  As per 1 Peter 2:21, “For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:”

Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Saturday]

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:  Deuteronomy 6:4  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Interestingly, Colossians 1:14 – 15 says, “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”  [AV], and this raises an interesting point.  To wit, in what way is Jesus (Yeshua) the first born of all creation?  Before Colossians 1:15, the expression “firstborn” occurs approximately 30 times in the Bible, and in each occurrence that it is applied to a living creature the same meaning applies.  For example, the firstborn of Pharaohs family is his firstborn child.  Therefore, when Colossians 1:17 – 19, “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;” [AV]

Revelation 1:1 and 3:14 clarify how he is the firstborn of creation as follows, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” and “And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;”  [AV].  And Mark 13:32 clearly clarifies how he is firstborn when it says, “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.”  [AV] clearly showing that Jesus (Yeshua) and his Father, Almighty God (YHWH) are two separate beings.  And Matthew 20:20 – 23 further clarifies this reality when it states, “Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. 21  And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. 22  But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.  23  And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.” [AV] which clearly shows Jesus (Yeshua) and his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), are two separate entities.

Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Sunday]

who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;  Colossians 1:15   [American Standard Version; ASV]

In his Word (Jesus), Almighty God (YHWH) provides the most intimate revelation of himself through his beloved Son, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ.  No one could reflect His thinking and feelings more closely or explain Him more vividly that His Son, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ  did.  After all that first born Son existed along side his Father before the other spirit creatures were created and he used him as His master worker in creating all else as shown by Proverbs 8:22-31, “Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old.  I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Before the earth was.  When there were no depths, I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water.  Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills was I brought forth;  While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world.  When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle upon the face of the deep,  When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong,  When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth;  then I was by him, as a master workman; And I was daily his delight, Rejoicing always before him,   Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of men.” [ASV].   This is also affirmed at Colossians 1:16, “for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;”  [ASV]

Jesus (Yeshua) was intimately acquainted with his Father, Almighty God (YHWH).  That is why he could say:  “All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth who the Son is, save the Father; and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal him.”  (Luke 10:22)  [ASV] .

Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Monday]

But you remain forever, O Jehovah, And your fame will endure for all generations.  Psalms 102:12  [New World Translation Revised: NWTr]

Psalm 102 also shows how you might gain a more positive viewpoint.   The psalmist did so by shifting attention to his relationship with Jehovah. (Ps. 102:12, 27)   He found comfort in knowing that Jehovah would always be there to sustain His people through trials.   So if negative feelings temporarily keep you from doing as much as you want to in God’s service, pray about it.   Ask Almighty God (YHWH) to hear your prayer not only so that you may experience some relief from your distress but also “So that the name of Jehovah will be declared in Zion And his praise in Jerusalem,.”—Ps. 102:21.   For more information, go to Exodus 6:3, Psalms 83:18.

Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Tuesday]

He went a day’s journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree, and he asked that he might die. He said: “It is enough! Now, O Jehovah, take my life away, for I am no better than my forefathers.”  1 Kings 19:4  [New World Translation Revised: NWTr]

For those who have not experienced such despair might be tempted to dismiss Elijah’s prayer as mere “wild talk.” (Job 6:3) However, his feelings were real. Note, though, that rather than chastise Elijah for wanting to die, Almighty God (YHWH)  helped him.

How had Elijah come to feel as he did? Shortly before this, he had presided over a decisive test in Israel that proved that Jehovah is the true God, and this led to the execution of 450 prophets of Baal. (1 Ki. 18:37-40) Elijah likely hoped that God’s people would now return to pure worship, but that did not happen. Wicked Queen Jezebel sent a message to Elijah that she was arranging for him to be killed. Fearing for his life, Elijah fled south across neighboring Judah into the wilderness, a barren and wild place.—1 Ki. 19:2-4.

Alone with his thoughts, Elijah reflected on the seeming futility of his work as a prophet. He told Jehovah: “…for I am no better than my forefathers.” (1 Kings 19:4) [NWTr]  His point was that he felt as useless as the dust and bones of his dead ancestors. He had, in effect, tested himself by his own standards and had decided that he was a failure, of no value to Jehovah or anyone else.

But the Almighty God (YHWH)  saw Elijah differently. Elijah remained valuable in God’s eyes, and Jehovah took steps to assure him of that reality. God sent an angel to strengthen Elijah. Jehovah also provided food and drink that would sustain Elijah during his 40-day trip south to Mount Horeb. Moreover, God kindly corrected Elijah’s mistaken idea that no other Israelites had remained faithful to Jehovah. Significantly, God gave Elijah new assignments, which he accepted. Elijah benefited from Jehovah’s help, and he returned to his work as a prophet with renewed energy.—1 Ki. 19:5-8, 15-19.

Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Wednesday]

Turn away from what is bad, and do what is good; Seek to find peace, and pursue it.  Psalms 34:14.

All should seek after peace and pursue it, and not strive with others if they can avoid it.  In fact, doing so may win others over with respect to being peaceful with you.  Isaac put this into practice in dealing with herdsmen of Gerar, “And the servants of Isaac went on digging in the torrent valley and so they found there a well of fresh water. 20 And the shepherds of Ge?rar fell to quarreling with the shepherds of Isaac, saying: “The water is ours!” Hence he called the name of the well Esek, because they had contended with him. 21 And they went digging another well, and they fell to quarreling over it also. Hence he called its name Sitnah.” (Genesis 26:19 to 21), but Isaac did not fight with these bullies.   He moved further away and dug another well that the bullies did not quarrel with him over with and this event was recorded at Genesis 26:22, “Later he moved away from there and dug another well, but they did not quarrel over it. Hence he called its name Re·hoboth and said: “It is because now Jehovah has given us ample room and has made us fruitful in the earth.”

His handling the matter is a peaceful way later proved good for Isaac as he later concluded a covenant with the bullies after Almighty God (YHWH) appeared to him and blessed him as recorded at Genesis 26:24 to 29, “And Jehovah proceeded to appear to him during that night and to say: “I am the God of Abraham your father. Do not be afraid, because I am with you, and I will bless you and multiply your seed on account of Abraham my servant.” 25 Accordingly he built an altar there and called on the name of Jehovah and pitched his tent there, and the servants of Isaac went excavating a well there. 26 Later on A·bim?e·lech came to him from Gerar with A·huzzath his confidential friend and Phi?col the chief of his army. 27 At this Isaac said to them: “Why have YOU come to me, seeing that YOU yourselves hated me and so sent me away from YOUR neighborhood?” 28 To this they said: “We have unmistakably seen that Jehovah has proved to be with you. Hence we said, ‘Let, please, an oath of obligation occur between us, between us and you, and let us conclude a covenant with you, 29 that you will do nothing bad toward us just as we have not touched you and just as we have done only good toward you in that we sent you away in peace. You now are the blessed of Jehovah”’.   So Isaac’s striving for peace proved fruitful for him, and in accordance with striving for peace won Almighty God’s (YHWH’s) approval.

Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Thursday]

and stop sharing in the unfruitful works that belong to the darkness;+ rather, expose them for what they are. Ephesians 5:11 [New World Translation Revised: NWTr]

Many religions rejoice over wrong doing showing a love of evil and wickedness. For example, When the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon occurred and about 3,000 people were murdered, TV showed Muslims celebrating in Cairo, Alexander, Amman, and many other cities in the Muslim world celebrating, and NOT anyone else. This clearly shows that although only about 25 individuals did the evil, their co-religionist were in complete agreement with the wicked act – i.e., they were co-conspirators after the fact. How wicked can a religion get?

Now, instead of loving wrong doing, all need to be showing love to their neighbors including Jews and telling them of the first step toward salvation given at John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (AV). Messages of hate assist no one in learning the truth per John 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (Authorized King James Bible; AV).

Take my post for example, they have a worthy objective; to wit, exposing false doctrine so individuals can correct their wrong path. My post are NOT ones of hate, as are many of others, but ones that expose false doctrine and wrong practice. All should read them instead of posting false accusations, as you will find not one word of hate or bashing in my articles, only truth. They are posted to assist all in knowing the truth, per John 8:32, and to assist all in making a change in their lives by getting out of groups and/or religions that practice false doctrine and wrong practices.

All need to learn about love and that includes warning others with respect false doctrine and wrong practices instead of thinking of hate such as those examples you mentioned,

<<<"Love is patient and is kind, love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud, does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil. does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things... I Corinthians 13

Love is the power of faith. Faith needs love to be made perfect, because perfect faith results in faithfullness and faithfullness is a work of love. Faith and love go hand in hand because faith wants to believe, just as love trusts, faith sees through the darkness and weathers the storm, just as love endures all things, and faith seeks to put God first just as love always gives. 1 Corinthians 13 :4-7 Our faith is not just knowledge about God but a personal relationship with Him as Lord, and any relationship requires love to succeed, to endure trials and to grow, including our relationships with one another because we are called to be family in the Lord and to love one another. The perfect example of faith powered by love is seen in the life of Jesus Christ, who manifests Gods love ...
Because love is the power of faith we should focus on love, seize it and cultivate it... and we can because God is love, and He imparts that love to us when we draw near to Him as the scripture says... whatever touches what is holy shall become holy Leviticus 6:27, and love is of the Holy Spirit. By faith we draw near to God through sincere prayer, entering into His presence, because when Jesus died on the cross, the temple curtain separating God and man was torn in two from top to bottom... Mathew 27:51 Gods promise says that if we draw near to Him then He will draw near to us, James 4:8 and when He who is Holy draws near to us then our spirits are sanctified by His Holy Spirit as His holiness is imparted to our spirits. If we allow God to fill our hearts with His Holy Spirit then we are filled with the love of God because love is the pre-eminate characteristic of God's holiness. Because God is the source of our love, love is the fruit of faith... Galatians 5: 22

When we submit to the love of God we have combined faith with love and have the power to fulfill the royal law, which is to love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul... Mathew 22:37-39 If we keep the royal law James 2:8 we are being faithful and are perfecting faith by faithfullness... James 2:22 If we love God we will seek to please Him and keep the royal law because the royal law embraces Gods will and all of His commandments. Without love we can't fulfill the royal law because we can't love the Lord unless we have love. To manifest the love of God is to overcome sin, whereas to not manifest the love of God is to sin. For the royal law is not to know about the Lord, but to love the Lord... and to love one another as ourselves. We can't do one without the other, because we can't truly love God whom we can't see if we don't love mankind who is made in the image of God. When we love one another we are manifesting our love for God whom we can't see by loving His image. If we love one another then we also love God because we can't love the reflection without loving its source. And if we love God we will love Jesus Christ and allow Him to reign in our hearts, keepings all of His commandments John 14:21 by subduing the will and power of the flesh through the power of the Holy Spirit, so that faith working through love does the will of God by turning the thought into reality which pleases Him and fulfills the royal law...

Faith without love is incomplete, residing only in the mind as knowledge, and knowledge of Gods will alone can not perfect us by saving us from sin but allowing Jesus Christ to reign in our hearts. If knowledge of Gods will alone could save us then salvation would have been through the law of Moses or even a Christian law handed down by Jesus, and there would not have been any need for Christ to die for our sins Galatians 2:21 and dwell in our hearts. If Jesus reigns in our hearts then the love of Christ also reigns because He is the manifestation of Gods love. The heart without the love of God does not have Jesus Christ and the soul without the Spirit of Christ is not born again Romans 8:9 and cannot be perfected by being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ which is true salvation and the result of faith. But the soul which manifests the love of God has been washed clean by the Holy Spirit Romans 15:16 and manifests the spirit and glory of Jesus Christ... "[source - Simon Strahler]>>>.

Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Friday]

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world–rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Ephesians 6:12  [American Standard Version; ASV]

Some years after the Christians in Ephesus destroyed their books on magic, the apostle Paul wrote them: the above scripture.   The demons had not given up. They were still trying to gain an advantage. So, what else did those Christians need to do? “Above all things,” said Paul, “and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  16  withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.  17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:.” (Ephesians 6:15 – 17 [ASV1]) The stronger our shield of faith, the greater our resistance to wicked spirit forces will be.   As recorded at —Matthew 17:20.   We must reject spiritism and the worship of idols such as the cross and the Kaaba.

Re: Scripture of the Day

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – [Saturday]

And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  1 John 5:5  [American Standard Version; ASV]

How, then, can we strengthen our faith? By studying the Bible. The firmness of a wall depends very much on the strength of its foundation. In the same way, the firmness of our faith depends greatly on the strength of its base, which is accurate knowledge of God’s Word, the Bible. If we read and study the Bible daily, our faith will become strong. Like a strong wall, such faith will shield us from the influence of wicked spirits.
