Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2] THE TIME OF BIRTH AND DEATH OF OUR SAVIOR, JESUS (YESHUA)
[1]      SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 299A]

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.   Hebrews 12:11,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

As Job said, Job 5:17, [AV] “Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:” showing once more that Almighty God (YHWH) will chasten those whom He loves when they start down the wrong path.  Wh should not despise correction from God, per Proverbs 3:11, [AV] “My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:”  Hebrews 12:5, [AV] “And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:”  Yes, Heb 12:11, [AV] “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” Which is for our good.

[2]     THE TIME OF BIRTH AND DEATH OF OUR SAVIOR, JESUS (YESHUA):

Time of Birth, and Length of Ministry:

There are many opinions with respect to when Jesus (Yeshua) was born and the length of his ministry, but the best available facts show he was born in the time frame of September-October [Jewish month of Ethanim] in the year 2 B.C., and was baptized about the same time of the year in 29 C.E., and died about 3:00 p.m. on Friday, the 14 th. Day of the Jewish month of Nisan [March-April], of the year 33 C.E.   Now what is the basis for these dates?

As it happened, Jesus (Yeshua) was born approximately sic months after the birth of his relative, John the Baptizer, during the rule of the pagan Roman Emperor Caesar Sugustus who rained from 31 B.C. to 14 C.E., and the Syrian governorship of Quirinius, and toward the close of the reign of Herod the Great over Judea per Matthew 2:1 & 13-15 & 19-23, "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, Wise-men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying," and "13 Now when they were departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I tell thee: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. 14 And he arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt; 15 and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt did I call my son." And "But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, 20 Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead that sought the young child's life. 21 And he arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither; and being warned [of God] in a dream, he withdrew into the parts of Galilee, 23 and came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, that he should be called a Nazarene." (American Standard Version; ASV).  The Apostle Luke also testified to these facts at Luke 1:24-32, "And after these days Elisabeth his wife conceived; and she hid herself five months, saying, 25 Thus hath the Lord done unto me in the days wherein he looked upon [me], to take away my reproach among men.  26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And he came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord [is] with thee. 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this might be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. 31 And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS." (ASV); And at Luke 2:1-7, "Now it came to pass in those days, there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be enrolled. 2 This was the first enrolment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And all went to enrol themselves, every one to his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David; 5 to enrol himself with Mary, who was betrothed to him, being great with child. 6 And it came to pass, while they were there, the days were fulfilled that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son; and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." (ASV).

Relationship to Death of Herod:

Now his birth can be affixed to Herod's death even though the date of Herod's death is a debated one, there are many indicators pointing to 1 B.C..  Let's look at some of the intervening events between the time of Jesus' (Yeshua's) birth and Herod's death.  They were: (1) Jesus' (Yeshua's) circumcision on the eighth day per Luke 2:21, "And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called JESUS, which was so called by the angel before he was conceived in the womb." (ASV); (2) taken to the temple 40 days after birth per Luke 2:22-23, " And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord)," (ASV), as foretold at Leviticus 12:1-5 & 8, "And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman conceive seed, and bear a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean. 3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. 4 And she shall continue in the blood of [her] purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled. 5 But if she bear a maid-child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and she shall continue in the blood of [her] purifying threescore and six days.", And "And if her means suffice not for a lamb, then she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering: and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean." (ASV); (3) the journey of astrologers to Bethlehem [the three kings of Spanish tradition] per Matthew 2:1-11, "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, Wise-men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, 2 Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 3 And when Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ should be born. 5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written through the prophet, 6 And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah, art in no wise least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come forth a governor, who shall be shepherd of my people Israel. 7 Then Herod privily called the Wise-men, and learned of them exactly what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search out exactly concerning the young child; and when ye have found [him,] bring me word, that I also may come and worship him.  9 And they, having heard the king, went their way; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. 10 And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. 11 And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary his mother; and they fell down and worshipped him; and opening their treasures they offered unto him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh." (ASV); (4) His parents flight to Egypt with him per Matthew 2:13-15, "Now when they were departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I tell thee: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. 14 And he arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt; 15 and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt did I call my son." (ASV); (5) and the slaughter of all boys under two years in district of Bethlehem under orders of Herold when he found out that the Astrologers were not going to lead him to Jesus (Yeshua) so he could kill him per Matthew 2:16-18, "Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the Wise-men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the male children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the borders thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had exactly learned of the Wise-men. 17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, 18 A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; And she would not be comforted, because they are not." (ASV) would allow the time required for these intervening events between his birth and that of Herod's death which is indicated to be in 1 B.C.

Relationship to John the Baptist:

Luke 3:1-3 gives further basis for the previously given dates as follows, "Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, 2 in the highpriesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. 3 And he came into all the region round about the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance unto remission of sins;" (ASV) which proves that John the Baptizer started preaching and baptizing during the 15 year of the reign of pagan Roman Emperor Tiberius Caesar.  This 15 th. Year started at the latter half of 28 C.E. to approximately August-September of 29 C.E.  At an indicated age of 30 years, Jesus (Yeshua) went to John and got baptized and started his ministry.  This was in strict compliance with the covenant requiring those going into sanctuary service by at least 30 years of age as affirmed at Numbers 4:1-3 & 22-23 & 29-30, "And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 2 Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers' houses, 3 from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting." (ASV), and "22 Take the sum of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers' houses, by their families; 23 from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou number them; all that enter in to wait upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting", and "29 As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them by their families, by their fathers' houses; 30 from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth upon the service, to do the work of the tent of meeting." (ASV).  On the basis of John's birth occurring 30 years before he began his ministry in Tiberius' 15 th. Year.

Jewish Scholars in Agreement:

While there is quite a wide consensus of opinion that Yeshua was born at some time during the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashana (New Year), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), or Succot (Tabernacles), the timing can be narrowed down to Succot, in the opinion of this author, because of the abundance of historical and traditional associations which surround it. It should be noted that all of these festivals normally occur in the Autumn, or during the September or October time-frame, but it varies from year to year because the Jewish calendar is based on the cycles of the moon and doesn't track with the Gregorian calendar.
The calculation of the time of Yeshua's birth begins with Z'chariyahu (Zechariah), the father of Yochanan (John) the Baptist. According to Luke 1:5 he was a priest of the order of Aviyah. He was performing his duties, burning incense in the Beit HaMikdash (Temple), when an angel appeared and said his wife Eli-Sheva would conceive and bear a son, and he would be called Yochanan (John). Secular Research Source:

Nowadays, most serious Bible students and scholars agree in that Jesus was not born on December 25th. Why? It is simple. Because the shepherds had their flocks in open field [1] which implies a date prior to October. And having in mind that the reason why Joseph and his pregnant wife, Mary, traveled to Jerusalem in order to be taxated. No competent Roman administrator would require registration involving travel during the season when Judea was impassable. [2]

Who decided December 25th as Jesus' birthdate?  The early Christian church did not celebrate Jesus' birth, and therefore the exact date has not been preserved in festivals. The first recorded mention of December 25th is in the Calendar of Philocalus (354 A.D.) which assumed Jesus' birth to be Friday, December 25, 1 A.D.   December 25th was officially proclaimed by the church fathers in 440 A.D. as a sincretism between the new religion of the Roman Empire and the tradition of the Roman holiday of Saturnalia, observed near the winter solstice, which was among the many pagan traditions inherited from the earlier Babylonian priesthood. [3]

So the, just when was Jesus born? Although the Bible doesn't explicitly identify the birthday of our Lord, many scholars have developed diverse opinions as to the likely birthday of Jesus.
The Year of Jesus' Birth   In the other hand, the year of Jesus' birth is broadly accepted as 4 B.C., primarily from erroneous conclusions derived from Josephus' recording of an eclipse, assumed to be on March 13, 4 B.C., "shortly before Herod died." There are a number of problems with this, in addition to the fact that it was more likely the eclipse to happened on December 29, 1 .B.C. Considerable time elapsed between Jesus' birth and Herod's death since the family fled to Egypt to escape Herod' edict and they didn't return until after Herod's death.[4] Furthermore, Herod died on January 14, 1 B.C. [5]

Fact: Tertullian, (born about 160 A.D.) stated that Augustus began to rule 41 years before the birth of Jesus and died 15 years after that event. [6] Augustus' died on August 19, 14 A.D., placing Jesus' birth at 2. B.C. [7] Fact: Tertullian also notes that Jesus was born 28 years after the death of Cleopatra in 30 B.C., which is consistent with a date of 2 B.C.

Fact: Iraneus, born about a century after Jesus, also notes that the Lord was born in the 41st year of the reign of Augustus. Since Augustus began his reign in the autumn of 43 B.C., this also appears to substantiate the birth in 2 B.C.
Fact: Eusebius (264-340 A.D.), the "Father of Church History," ascribes it to the 42nd year of the reign of Augustus and the 28th from the subjection of Egypt on the death of Anthony and Cleopatra. [8] The 42nd year of Augustus ran from the autumn of 2 B.C. to the autumn of 1 B.C. The subjugation of Egypt into the Roman Empire occurred in the autumn of 30 B.C. The 28th year extended from the autumn of 3 B.C. to the autumn of 2 B.C. the only date that would meet both of these constraints would be the autumn of 2 B.C. II PREHUMAN EXISTANCE OF JESUS:

How He Is The Only-Begotten Son:

Why is Jesus (Yeshua) called the only begotten Son of God (YHWH) when in reality there are many sons of God (YHWH)?  John 1:14 states, "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth." (ASV); And at John 3:16-18, " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him. 18 He that believeth on him is not judged: he that believeth not hath been judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God." (ASV); And at 1 John 4:9, "Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him." (ASV); now this does not mean that the other created spirit beings were not also God's (YHWH's) sons, as they are also called sons as affirmed at Genesis 6:2, "that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all that they chose." (ASV); And at job 1:6, "Now it came to pass on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah, that Satan also came among them" (ASV); And at Job 38:4-7, "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. 5 Who determined the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched the line upon it? 6 Whereupon were the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner-stone thereof, 7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?" (ASV); And at Job 2:1, "Again it came to pass on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah, that Satan came also among them to present himself before Jehovah." (ASV).  So what makes Jesus (Yeshua) unique?

He is unique by virtue of his being the only direct creation by Almighty God (YHWH), thus making him different from all others of God's (YHWH's) sons, allof whom were created or begotten by god (YHWH) through that firstborn Son, Jesus (Yeshua).  Therefore, Jesus was God's (YHWH) 'only-begotten Son' in a very special sense just as Isaac was Abraham's 'only-begotten son' in a special sense even though he already had a son, Ishamel, but not by his wife Sarah as testified to at Hebrews 11:17, "By faith Abraham, being tried, offered up Isaac: yea, he that had gladly received the promises was offering up his only begotten [son];" (ASV); And at Genesis 16:15, "And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bare, Ishmael." (ASV).

Of course some will say begotten does not mean create, but they never quantify what it means.  They have to consider the facts which are (1) the Bible says at Revelation 3:14, "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:" (ASV); (2) the meaning of the word create which is "To cause to come into existence; originate" [Funk & Wagnalls Standard College Dictionary, ISBN #s 0-308-10309-2 and 0-308-10310-6, and most other standard English dictionaries]; (3) That humans create by means of copulation as did Abraham in the creation or begetting of his son, Isaac, as shown in Hebrews 11:17 and Genesis 16:15, quoted previously; whereas, the Bible makes no mention of a Mrs. God (YHWH).   Therefore, God (YHWH) creates differently, obviously, from man.  He always existed as shown at Psalms 90:2, "Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. " (ASV); And at Psalms 93:2, "Thy throne is established of old: Thou art from everlasting." (ASV); and at Job 36:26, "Behold, God is great, and we know him not; The number of his years is unsearchable." (ASV); And at 1 Timothy 1:17, "Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, [be] honor and glory forever and ever. Amen." (ASV).   Of course another way of looking at the verb beget is to look at its synonyms and its definition which are (1) To procreate; be the father of. (2) To cause to be; occasion [Funk & Wagnalls Standard College Dictionary, ISBN #s 0-308-10309-2 and 0-308-10310-6, and most other standard English dictionaries].  Now that makes it clear one of its meanings is to cause to be same as for create.  If that is not clear enough for some, let's consider the definition of its synonym as given above, procreate which means by definition (1) To engender or beget (offspring), (2) To originate; produce; and at its ethnology from Latin, [<L pro-creatus, pp. of procreare <pro - before + creare to create> ] which leaves no doubt that it means to create as does the other synonym, engender which by definition means (1) To cause to exist; give rise to; produce. (2) beget, (3) To come into being; and its ethnology from Latin [<Of, engendrer <L ingenerare to create< in - in + genus, generis race] [Funk & Wagnalls Standard College Dictionary, ISBN #s 0-308-10309-2 and 0-308-10310-6, and most other standard English dictionaries].

Of course some critics say that having been created makes Jesus (Yeshua) inferior, but the Bible shows the exact opposite at Philippians 2:1-11, "If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions, 2 make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; 3 [doing] nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself; 4 not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. 5 Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men; 8 and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient [even] unto death, yea, the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name; 10 that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven and [things] on earth and [things] under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (ASV).   Obviously all thinking people should believe the Bible and not accept the opinions of man.

Master workman in Keeping With Jewish Law of Agencies:

The Jewish Law of Agencies which is basically as follows, "Jesus (Yeshua) was God's (YHWH's) appointed agent in accordance with the 'Biblical law of agency' described as, "Scripture mentions something being done by Person A, whilst another mentions it being done by Person B. This is best understood when we grasp the Schaliach Principle, or the Jewish Law of Agency, which is expressed in the dictum, "A person's agent is regarded as the person himself." Therefore any act committed by a duly appointed agent is regarded as having been committed by the principle." (The Encyclopedia of the Jewish Religion, R.J.Z. Werblowski and Geoffrey Wigoder).  Now that we know what the Jewish Law of Agencies is, let's see how it applies to Jesus (Yeshua).

First it is necessary to understand that Jesus (Yeshua) is often referred to as the 'Word' as shown at John 1:114, "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth." (ASV); And at 1 John 1:1, "That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we beheld, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life " (ASV); And at Revelation 19:13, "And he [is] arrayed in a garment sprinkled with blood: and his name is called The Word of God." (ASV).  That which is said about the Word in the New Testament fits remarkably the description of 'wisdom' in the Old Testament given at Proverbs 8:22-31, "Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Before the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills was I brought forth; 26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world. 27 When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, 28 When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong, 29 When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth; 30 Then I was by him, [as] a master workman; And I was daily [his] delight, Rejoicing always before him, 31 Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of men." (ASV).  There wisdon is personified, and represented as able to speak and act per Proverbs 8:1, "Doth not wisdom cry, And understanding put forth her voice?" (ASV).  In fact it was understood by many Christian writers of the early centuries of the C.E. that this section referred symbolically to God's (YHWH) Son, Jesus (Yeshua) in his pre-human state.  Thus, in view of the scriptures already considered, there is no denying that the Son, Jesus (Yeshua) was 'produced' by God (YHWH) 'as the "beginning of his way, Before his works of old" or the earliest of his achievements very long ago and was beside God (YHWH) as his agent or master worker during the creation of the earth as described in Proverbs just quoted.  Hebrew, like modern day Spanish, assigns gender to its nouns, and the word for 'wisdom' is always in the feminine gender.  Thus, this would remain the case even when  is personified and therefore would not rule out wisdom's being used in a figurative way to represent God's firstborn Son, Jesus (Yeshua).   It is to be remembered that the title "gohe'leth"or "Kohelet" or congregator in English that Solomon applied to himself at Ecclesiastes 1:1, "The words of Kohelet, the son of David, king in Yerushalayim" (Hebrew Names Version of World English Bible ), and this word also is in the feminine gender.

God's (YHWH's) own wisdom was shown in creation at Proverbs 3:19-20, "Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding he established the heavens. 20 By his knowledge the depths were broken up, And the skies drop down the dew." (ASV), but only through his Son, Jesus (Yeshua); this is also shown at 1 Corinthians 8:6, "yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him." (ASV).  Likewise God's (YHWH's) purpose toward mankind is made manifest through his Son; therefore the Apostle John could say that Jesus (Yeshua) represents per 1 Corinthians 1:24 & 30, "but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God." (ASV); And at  "30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:" (ASV); And at 1 Corinthians 2:7-8, "but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, [even] the [wisdom] that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory: 8 which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory:" (ASV); And at Proverbs 18-21, "Riches and honor are with me; [Yea], durable wealth and righteousness. 19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; And my revenue than choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of justice; 21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance, And that I may fill their treasuries. " (ASV).  Thus as we can see that Jesus (Yeshua) Christ has become to us wisdom from God, and also righteousness and sanctification and a release by ransom.

Not a Co-Creator:

Jesus (Yeshua) took part with respect the creative works, but this did NOT make him a co-Creator along with his Father (YHWH).  Why not?  Because all the power for creation came from God through his Holy Spirit, or active force as shown by Genesis 1:1-2, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." (ASV); And at Psalms 33:6, "By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth." (ASV).  Of course some may object and have different views with regard to what the Holy Spirit is, but let's look at the facts.  The  "New American Bible Catholic Bible," says in a footnote regarding John 14:17: "The Greek word for 'Spirit' is neuter, and while we use personal pronouns in English ('he,' 'his,' 'him'), most Greek MSS [manuscripts] employ 'it.'"   So when the Bible uses masculine personal pronouns in connection with pa·ra'kle·tos at John 16:7, 8, it is conforming to rules of grammar, not expressing a doctrine.   And in Ancient Hebrew the word here rendered Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, or Spirit which is translated from 'ru'ach' meaning "breath; wind; spirit."   In Latin, it is spiritus, and in Sanskrit, 'prana' which means both "breath" and "spirit."  Thus God (YHWH) is the source of all life, all animate creation, both visible and invisible, as shown at Psalms 36:9, "For with thee is the fountain of life: In thy light shall we see light." (ASV).  Thus all of creation including his only begotten Son owes their lives to him.  Thus, rather than being a co-Creator with his Father (YHWH), Jesus (Yeshua) was the agent or instrumentality through whom God (YHWH), the Creator, worked using him as his 'master worker.'   Jesus (Yeshua) himself gave credit to his Father (YHWH) for all of creation, see Matthew 19:4-6, "And he answered and said, Have ye not read, that he who made [them] from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh? 6 So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." (ASV).

Prehuman Existance of Jesus (Yeshua):

Let's look at Jesus' (Yeshua's) existence before he came to earth to be born of a virgin per Matthew 1:18-25, "Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost. 19 Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name Jesus. For he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying: 23 Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24 And Joseph rising up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife. 25 And he knew her not till she brought forth her first born son: and he called his name Jesus." (Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible; DRCB).  Jesus (Yeshua) spoke of his prehuman heavenly life before coming to earth at John 3:13, "And no man hath ascended into heaven, but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven." (DRCB); And at John 6:38, "Because I came down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him that sent me." (DRCB) which shows he was sent down to earth by his Father (YHWH); And John 8:23, "And he said to them: You are from beneath: I am from above. You are of this world: I am not of this world." (DRCB) clearly showing in his own words where he came from; And at John 8:42, " Jesus therefore said to them: If God were your Father, you would indeed love me. For from God I proceeded and came. For I came not of myself: but he sent me." (DRCB) here he tells specifically who his Father is; And John 8:52, "The Jews therefore said: Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets: and thou sayest: If any man keep my word, he shall not taste death for ever." (DRCB).  Jesus (Yeshua) was with his Father (YHWH) from the beginning of creation since he was, as previously shown, the first of God's creation and used in the creation of all else per Proverbs 8:22-31, "Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old. 27 When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, 28 When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong, 29 When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth; 30 Then I was by him, [as] a master workman; And I was daily [his] delight, Rejoicing always before him, 31 Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of men." (ASV); And this fact was also shown at  Colossians 1:15-22, " who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him; 17 and he is before all things, and in him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it was the good pleasure [of the Father] that in him should all the fulness dwell; 20 and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, [I say], whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens. 21 And you, being in time past alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works, 22 yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him:" (ASV); And at Revelation 3:14, "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:" (ASV), thus the scriptures identify the 'Word' or 'Logos' as God's (YHWH's) first creation, his firstborn Son.

Therefore, as just shown, Jesus (Yeshua) was truly the Son of his Father (YHWH) who gave him life.  This is shown to be clearly a fact at John 6:56-57, " He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live because of me." (ASV).   Therefore, if the estimates of the age of the universe made recently by scientist are anywhere near correct, Jeusu' existence as a spirit creature started many thousands of millions of years before the creation of the first human, and this is indicated also at Micah 5:2, "But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting." (ASV).  Thus this firstborn spirit Son was used by his Father (YHWH) in the creation of all else as revealed at John 1:3, "All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made." (ASV), And at Colossians 1:16-17, "for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him; 17 and he is before all things, and in him all things consist." (ASV).  Included in the things that his Father (YHWH) empowered him to create would be the millions of other spirit sons of God's (YHWH's) heavenly family per Revelation 5:11, " And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;" (ASV).  This is also highlighted with the creation of menkind when Jesus (Yeshua) and his Father (YHWH) were discussing it at Genesis 1:26, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." (ASV).

Why the Title, "The Word":

This name or title identifies the function that God's (YHWH's) firstborn Son would perform for his Father (YHWY).  This is first revealed at Exodos 4:16, where God (YHWH) speaks to his servant Moses about his brother, "And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people; and it shall come to pass, that he shall be to thee a mouth, and thou shalt be to him as God." (ASV).  As God's (YHWH's) spokesman on earth, Aaron served as the mouth for Moses; likewise the Word, or Logos, who became Jesus (Yeshua) did likewise for his Father (YHWH).  God (YHWH) used his Son to give instructions and information to others of his family of spirit sons, and also used him to deliver his message to humans on earth as his spokesman.  This is testified to at John 7:16-17, "Jesus therefore answered them and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me. 17 If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or [whether] I speak from myself." (ASV); And at John 12:50, "And I know that his commandment is life eternal: the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak." (ASV); And at John 18:37, " Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." (ASV).

While some texts refer to God (YHWH) as though directly speaking to humans, others make it clear that he did so through his son or angelic representatives in keeping with the Jewish Law of Agencies previously discussed.  Some relevant scriptures are Exodus 3:2-4, "And the angel of Jehovah appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when Jehovah saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I." (ASV), which compares with Acts 7:30-35, "And when forty years were fulfilled, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush. 31 And when Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold, there came a voice of the Lord, 32 I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob. And Moses trembled, and durst not behold. 33 And the Lord said unto him, Loose the shoes from thy feet: for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. 34 I have surely seen the affliction of my people that is in Egypt, and have heard their groaning, and I am come down to deliver them: and now come, I will send thee into Egypt. 35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? him hath God sent [to be] both a ruler and a deliverer with the hand of the angel that appeared to him in the bush." (ASV).  Reasonably, in most such cases God (YHWH) spoke through the word.

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND THE RARE FRUIT TREES AND VEGETABLES.   With the Scripture of the Day first.
[1]     SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 300A]

My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.  Psalms 26:12, [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Almighty God (YHWH) does, 1 Samuel 2:9, [Rotherham Bible, RO] “The feet of his loving ones, he doth guard, But, the lawless, in darkness shall be silent,––For, by strength, shall no man prevail.”  An Psalms 68:26, says, [AV] “Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.”  As Psalms 107:31 – 32, [AV] “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!  32  Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.”  All should praise Him per Psalms 111:1, [AV] “Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.  2  The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.”

[2]    THE RARE FRUIT TREES AND VEGETABLES:
Here is a Commentary on Bountiful Trees and Vegetables God (YHWH) has provided for mankind, specifically the milk thistle, Silybum marianum, colloquially identified as Carduus marianus, known as milk thistle, is an annual or biannual plant of the Asteraceae family. This fairly typical thistle has red to purple flowers and shiny pale green leaves with white veins. Originally a native of Southern Europe through to Asia, it is now found throughout the world. The medicinal parts of the plant are the ripe seeds.

Common names for this species include blessed milk thistle, Marian Thistle, Mary Thistle, Saint Mary's Thistle, Mediterranean Milk Thistle, Variegated Thistle and Scotch Thistle.

Description
It grows 30 to 200 cm tall, having an overall conical shape with a approx. 160 cm max. diameter base. The stem is grooved and more or less cottony, and with the largest specimens the 'trunk' is hollow.
The leaves are oblong to lanceolate. They are either lobate or pinnate, with spiny edges. They are hairless, shiny green, with milk-white veins.
The flower heads are 4 to 12 cm long and wide, of red-purple colour. They flower from June to August in the North or December to February in the Southern Hemisphere ( Summer through Autumn ).
The bracts are hairless, with triangular, spine-edged appendages, tipped with a stout yellow spine.
The achenes are black, with a simple long white pappus, surrounded by a yellow basal ring.[1]

Medicinal uses
In herbalism, it is used in cases of liver diseases (cirrhosis, jaundice and hepatitis), gallbladder disease,[citation needed] and is claimed to protect the liver against poisons. Silibinin (syn. silybin, sylimarin I) is a hepatoprotective (antihepatotoxic), antioxidant (radical-scavenging agent), thus stabilizing and protecting the membrane lipids of the hepatocytes (liver cells). Silicristin inhibits the enzymes peroxidase and lipoxygenase. Silidianin is a plant growth regulator. A 2000 study of such claims by the AHRQ concluded that "clinical efficacy of milk thistle is not clearly established". However a more recent study did show activity against liver cancer cells in vitro.[2] A 2005 Cochrane Review considered thirteen randomized clinical trials which assessed milk thistle in 915 patients with alcoholic and/or hepatitis B or C virus liver diseases. They question the beneficial effects of milk thistle for patients with alcoholic and/or hepatitis B or C virus liver diseases and highlight the lack of high-quality evidence to support this intervention. Cochrane concluded that more good quality randomized clinical trials on milk thistle versus placebo are needed.

Its potent extract is used in medicine under the name silymarin (a flavonolignane complex consisting of silibinin A and B/silybin/silymarin I, isosilibinin A and B, silicristin/silymarin II, silidianin). Silibinin is used against poisoning by amanitas, such as the Death Cap (Amanita phalloides)[3] as well as in cerebral edema and acute hepatitis therapy.

Mary thistle has been grown as a medicinal plant in monastery gardens since ancient times. The seed is the part of the plant used medicinally.
Silybum marianum extract has antifungal effects, preventing the growth of dermatophyte more than saprophyte fungi.[4]
One pilot study showed that milk thistle may be as effective as fluoxetine in treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder.[5]

Where it grows
Possibly native near the coast of south east England. It has been widely introduced outside its natural range, for example into Iran, North America, Australia, and New Zealand where it is considered an invasive weed. Cultivated fields for the production of raw-material for the pharmaceutical industry exists on a larger scale in Austria (Region Waldviertel), Germany, Hungary, Poland, China and Argentina. In Europe it is sown yearly in March-April. The harvest in 2 steps (cutting and threshing) takes place in August, about 2–3 weeks after the flowering.

Animal toxicity
Due to potassium nitrate content, the plant has been found to be toxic to cattle and sheep. When potassium nitrate is eaten by ruminants, the bacteria in animal's stomach breaks the chemical down, producing a nitrite ion. Nitrite ion then combines with hemoglobin to produce methaemoglobin, blocking the transport of oxygen. The result is a form of oxygen deprivation. [1]

Other uses
The extract is now also being used in beverages as an energy enhancing agent, as exemplified by Rockstar Energy Drink. {http://www.rockstar69.com/productIngredients.php?pdt=1} The thistle is the unofficial floral emblem of Scotland.

Milk thistle has been used medicinally for over 2,000 years, most commonly for the treatment of liver and gallbladder disorders. A flavonoid complex called silymarin can be extracted from the seeds of milk thistle and is believed to be the biologically active component. The terms "milk thistle" and "silymarin" are often used interchangeably.
Milk thistle products are popular in Europe and the United States for various types of liver disease. Although numerous human trials have been published, most studies have not been well designed or reported.  (source - retrieved from   http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/silymarin/NS_patient-milkthistle  on  3/9/2013)

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]  DISCOURSE ON WHAT GOD (YHWH) ASKS OF HIS SON'S FOLLOWERS
[1] SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 301A]

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.  Psalms 121:1 – 2, [authorized King James Bible; AV]

As Psalms 125:2, [AV] shows, “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.”  Yes, help for His people is in, Psalms 124:8, [AV] “Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.”  And Psalms 46:1, [AV] “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” That Almighty God (YHWH) is the refuge for His people.  And our place as shown by Psalms 8:3 – 4, [AV] “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;  4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”

[2]     DISCOURSE ON WHAT GOD (YHWH) ASKS OF HIS SON'S FOLLOWERS:

God (YHWH) has put his Son , Jesus (Yeshua) Christ in charge as his agent in dealings with mankind and with the angels also.  This reality is clearly stated at 1 Corinthians 15:21-29, "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.  23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ's, at his coming.  24 Then `cometh' the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.  2 For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet.  26 The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.  27 For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him.  28 And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all." (American Standard Version; ASV), clearly showing that he, Jesus (Yeshua, has been given authority over all except, Almighty God (YHWH) as shown, ", He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him."  This fact is further emphasized at 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men, `himself' man, Christ Jesus," (ASV).

Therefore, it is necessary for all footstep followers of Jesus (Yeshua) to comply with God's (YHWH's) laws and principles.  This is shown to be the best way of life at Psalms 19:7-11, "The law of Jehovah `is' perfect, refreshing the soul, The testimonies of Jehovah `are' stedfast, Making wise the simple,  8 The precepts of Jehovah `are' upright, Rejoicing the heart, The command of Jehovah `is' pure, enlightening the eyes,  9 The fear of Jehovah `is' clean, standing to the age, The judgments of Jehovah `are' true, They have been righteous -- together.  10 They are more desirable than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; and sweeter than honey, Even liquid honey of the comb.  11 Also -- Thy servant is warned by them, `In keeping them `is' a great reward.'" (Youngs Literal Translation).  In fact, Jesus' (Yeshua's) words are not his own but that of his Father (YHWH) as he himself testified to at John 14:24, "He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me." (ASV).  And 1 Timothy 6:19 shows that now we must be, "Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life." (the Webster Bible by Noah Webster; WB); which clearly shows we must be laying a good foundation in the faith now.

This is easier said than done since Satan, God's (YHWH's) arch-enemy, is putting the all true followers of Jesus (Yeshua) under much stress.  In addition, our own imperfect flesh adds to the challenge.  Often in trying to fulfill our scriptural obligations, we may feel overwhelmed as affirmed Psalms 40:12, "For innumerable evils have encompassed me: my iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head: therefore my heart faileth me." (WB); And Psalms 55:1-8, "To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David. Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.  2 Attend to me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;  3 Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me. 4 My heart is severely pained within me: and the terrors of death have fallen upon me.  5 Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.  6 And I said, O that I had wings like a dove! for then I would fly away, and be at rest. 7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.  8 So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away." (WB).  What can help us to maintain our spiritual balance at such times.

GOD'S (YHWH's) COMMANDMENTS NOT BURDENSOME:

God's (YHWH's) are not burdensome, but are for our own good as shown at Deuternonmy 10:12-13, "And now, Israel, what doth Jehovah thy God require of thee, but to fear Jehovah thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Jehovah thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, 13 to keep the commandments of Jehovah, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?" (ASV); And 1 John 5:3, "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." (ASV).  Remember, he takes into account our human frailities, Psalms 103:13-14, "Like as a father pitieth his children, So Jehovah pitieth them that fear him.  14 For he knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust." (ASV).  God (YHWH) kindly accepts our best efforts to obediently serve him, although these are limited by our circumstances per Leviticus 5:7 & 11, "And if his means suffice not for a lamb, then he shall bring his trespass-offering for that wherein he hath sinned, two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, unto Jehovah; one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering." (ASV); and "11 But if his means suffice not for two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, then he shall bring his oblation for that wherein he hath sinned, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin-offering: he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon; for it is a sin-offering." (ASV); And Mark 14:8-9, "She hath done what she could; she hath anointed my body beforehand for the burying.  9 And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever the gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her." (ASV).  God (YHWH) invites us to throw our burdens on him, and assures us that he will remain faithful, see Psalms 55:22, "Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee: He will never suffer the righteous to be moved." (ASV); And 1 Corinthians 10:13, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it." (ASV).

BUT WE NEED ENDURANCE:

The Bible contains many accounts of integrity keepers such as Jeremiah, Elijah, and the Apostle Paul, and the need of maintaining endurance is shown at Hebrews 10:36, "For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise." (ASV).  God (YHWH) will sustain us in times of adversity and discouragement as shown at 1 Kings 19:14-18, "And he said, I have been very jealous for Jehovah, the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.  15 And Jehovah said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, thou shalt anoint Hazael to be king over Syria;  16 and Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel; and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.  17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth from the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay; and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.  18 Yet will I leave `me' seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him." (ASV); And Jeremiah 20:7-11, "O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.  8 For since I spoke, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach to me, and a derision, daily.  9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.  10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Perhaps he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.  11 But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten." (WB); And 2 Corinthians 1:8-11, "For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life:  9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:  10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us:  11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons, thanks may be given by many on our behalf." (WB).  And the loyalty of our brethren in modern times is an inspiration as shown at 1 Peter 5:9, "Whom resist, stedfast in faith, knowing that the selfsame sufferings are accomplished in your brotherhood which [is] in [the] world." (the Darby Translation).   We should meditate on such examples as this will assist us in not giving out when under trials and tribulation.

Let the promises of God (YHWH) be an anchor for us per Hebrews 6:19, "which we have as an anchor of the soul, `a hope' both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil;" (ASV).  God's (YHWH's) promises given to Abraham and Sarah to accept God's (YHWH's) request to leave their comfortable dwelling place in the city of Ur and move to the promise land, and also, empowered Moses to take a fearless stand for true worship.  They also fortified Jesus (Yeshua) to endure the torture stake per Hebrews 11:8-13 & 24-26, "By faith Abraham, being called, obeyed to go out into the place which he was to receive for an inheritance, and went out, not knowing where he was going.  9 By faith he sojourned as a stranger in the land of promise as a foreign country, having dwelt in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with [him] of the same promise;  10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, of which God is [the] artificer and constructor.  11 By faith also Sarah herself received strength for [the] conception of seed, and [that] beyond a seasonable age; since she counted him faithful who promised.  12 Wherefore also there have been born of one, and that of one become dead, even as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the countless sand which [is] by the sea shore.  13 All these died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them from afar off and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and sojourners on the earth." (The Darby Translation); And Hebrews 12:2-3, "looking stedfastly on Jesus the leader and completer of faith: who, in view of the joy lying before him, endured [the] cross, having despised [the] shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  3 For consider well him who endured so great contradiction from sinners against himself, that ye be not weary, fainting in your minds." (The Darby Translation).  Remember, always, to keep God's (YHWH's) promise of a righteous new world always foremost in our hearts as it will likewise help us to endure per 2 Peter 3:11-13, "Seeing that these things are thus all to be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in `all' holy living and godliness,  12 looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?  13 But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness." (ASV).

Remembering our past acts of loyalty, self-sacrifice, and boldness can serve to energise to endurance and service to God (YHWH) per Hebrews 10:32-34, "But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were enlightened, ye endured a great conflict of sufferings;  33 partly, being made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, becoming partakers with them that were so used.  34 For ye both had compassion on them that were in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of you possessions, knowing that ye have for yourselves a better possession and an abiding one." (ASV).  We should always give God (YHWH) what he asks of us and we will receive great joy and blessings by doing so, i.e., giving of our whole-souled devotion, per Matthew 22:37-40, "And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  38 This is the great and first commandment.  39 And a second like `unto it' is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  40 On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets." (ASV).

[1]     SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 302A]

[2]     Discourse on the Ransom Provided by Christ and Why Necessary:

INTRODUCTION:

Many know that salvation can only come through Jesus (Yeshua) Christ as his Father (YHWH) has appointed him the only mediator between God (YHWH) and man as testified to at  to at 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" (The Webster Bible); And this is further affirmed at Ephesians 3:11-12, "for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father." (American Standard Version,(ASV).  He is the only savior, apart from him there is no other as shown by John 4:42, "and they said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy speaking: for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Saviour of the world." (ASV); And affirmed at Titus 1:4, "to Tite, most dereworthe sone bi the comyn feith, grace and pees of God the fadir, and of Crist Jhesu, oure sauyour." (Wycliffe-One of the first English Bibles).  However, before he could become our savior, a ransom had to be paid.  Why so?

THE NEED OF A RANSOM:

Let's let the Bible explain why there was a need for a ransom to be paid before any of mankind could be saved.  The Bible shows at Romans 5:12, "Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." (The Webster Bible); And it is shown that all men have sinned, and this is testified to at Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (The Webster Bible).  In other words all of mankind is under inherited sin as shown by Psalms 51:5, "Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me." (ASV); Therefore, Psalms 49:7-9 shows, "None `of them' can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him; 8(For the redemption of their life is costly, And it faileth for ever;) 9 That he should still live alway, That he should not see corruption." (ASV)

GOD (YHWH) HIMSELF MADE PROVISION FOR A RANSOM:

Since God (YHWH) could not break his own law of like for like, he provided for a ransome for all obedient mankind as testified to at 1 John 4:14, "And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father hath sent the Son `to be' the Saviour of the world." (ASV); And affirmed at Matthew 1:20-21, "But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins." (ASV).

His making provisions to provide a ransom in the form of his only begotten son was an expression of his love for mankind as shown by John 3:16-17, "

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him." (ASV); And affirmed at 1 John 4:9-10, "Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him.  10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son `to be' the propitiation for our sins." (ASV); And at Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (ASV).

PRICE PAID FOR RELEASE FROM BONDAGE TO SIN AND DEATH - THE RANSOM:

Jesus (Yeshua) came to give his life as a ransom as testified to at Matthew 20:28, "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." (The Webster Bible); And at 1 John 3:5, "And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin." (ASV); And at Romans 3:24, "being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:" (ASV); And at Hebrews 2:14-15, "Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same; that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 and might deliver all them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (ASV).

Jesus' (Yeshua's) human life was represented by his blood being poured out onto death as a ransom as shown at John 10:11, "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep." (ASV); And at 1 Peter 1:18-19, "knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers; 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, `even the blood' of Christ:" (ASV); And at Ephesians 1:7, "in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace," (ASV); And at Revelation 5:9, "And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood `men' of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation," (ASV).

CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS AS A SACRIFICE ON MAN'S BEHALF, HE WAS SINLESS:

That he was sinless and thus could serve as a sacrifice for our sins was shown at Hebrews 7:26 and 9:25-26, "For such a high priest became us, holy, guileless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;" and "nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place year by year with blood not his own;  26 else must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the end of the ages hath he been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself."(ASV); And at 1 Peter 2:22, "who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:" (ASV); And at 1 John 4:10, "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son `to be' the propitiation for our sins."

Since Jesus (Yeshua) was sinless, his life could provide the ransom price for the perfect human life Adam lost and which he could have passed along by inheritance to his children as shown by 1 Timothy 2:5-6, "For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men, `himself' man, Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself a ransom for all; the testimony `to be borne' in its own times;" And at Phillipians 2:7-8, "but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men; 8 and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient `even' unto death, yea, the death of the cross." (ASV); And at 1 Corinthians 15:22, "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive." (ASV).

After his resurrection by his Father (YHWH), a distinct spiritual being, Christ presented the value of his sacrifice to his Father (YHWH) in heaven as shown at Hebrews 9:11-12 & 24, "But Christ having come a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,
12 nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption." And "For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:" (ASV); And at Romans 8:34, "who is he that condemneth? It is Christ Jesus that died, yea rather, that was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." (ASV); And at Ephesians 5:2, "and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell." (ASV).

THE PURPOSE AND THE BENEFITS OF THE RANSOM:

Jesus (Yeshua) gave up his life for us as foretold at Isaiah 53:12, "portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." (ASV); And at Hebrews 2:9, "But we behold him who hath been made a little lower than the angels, `even' Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every `man'." (ASV); And at Galacians 1:4, "who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father:" (ASV).

RANSOM PERMITTED FORGIVENESS OF SINS:

That Jesus (Yeshua) was the one who would take away sins was testified to at John 1:29, "On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world!" (ASV); And at Ephesians 1:7, "in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace," (ASV); And at 1 John 1:7, "but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (ASV); And at 1 John 2:1, "My little children, these things write I unto you that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  2 and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world." (ASV); And at Revelation 7:9-10 & 14, "After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of `all' tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands;  10 and they cry with a great voice, saying, Salvation unto our God who sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb" and "And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." (ASV).

RECONCILIATION TO GOD (YHWH):

Jesus (Yeshua) was first with respect to being the first of God's (YHWH's) children that God (YHWH) caused to be created and the first to be resurrected as testified to at Colossians 1:18-20, "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  19 For it was the good pleasure `of the Father' that in him should all the fulness dwell;  20 and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, `I say', whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens." (ASV); And at 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, "But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation." (ASV); And at Romans 5:10, "For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life;" (ASV).

This makes possible the general resurrection for mankind with opportunity for eternal life as affirmed at Hebrews 9:26-28, "else must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the end of the ages hath he been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this `cometh' judgment;  28 so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation." (ASV); And at John 5:26-29, For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself: 27      and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man. 28      Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice, 29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment." (ASV); And at Romans 14:9, "For to this end Christ died and lived `again', that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living." (ASV); And at Acts 24:15, "having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there shall be a resurrection both of the just and unjust." (ASV).

EFFECTS OF SIN REMOVED DURING CHRIST 1,000 YEAR RULE:

During the thousand year rule of Christ, the effects of sin on the earth will be removed as foretold at Revelation 21:2-4, "made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, `and be' their God:  4 and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away." (ASV).

This will pave the way for everlasting life for those who manifest faith and obedience as testified to at John 3:16 & 36, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life." And "He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life; but he that obeyeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him." (ASV); And at Hebrews 5:9, "and having been made perfect, he became unto all them that obey him the author of eternal salvation;" (ASV).

WE MUST HAVE APPRECIATION FOR THE RANSOM AND CHANGE OUR COURSE OF LIFE ACCORDINGLY:

We must show appreciation for Jesus' (Yeshua's) ransome sacrifice as shown at Hebrews 9:14, "how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish unto God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (ASV); And at Revelation 7:14-15, "And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  15 Therefore are they before the throne of God; and they serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them." (ASV); And at Titus 2:13-14, "looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14      who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works." (ASV); And at 1 Corinthians 6:20, "for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body." (ASV); 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, "For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15 and he died for all, that they that live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him who for their sakes died and rose again." (ASV); And at 1 John 4:11, "Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." (ASV).

[1] SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 303A]

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  Hebrews 11:6, [authorized King James Bible; AV]

However, as testified to at 2 Timothy 3:2 – 3, [AV] “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,”  Men can only be justified by faith if they believe in the son of Almighty God (YHWH), Jesus (Yeshua) as shown at Galatians 2:16, [AV] “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”

[2]     Discourse Trust in the Lord – Do Not Be Mislead:

Psalms 27:14, ” Trust in the Lord. Have faith, do not despair. Trust in the Lord.”(The Good News Translation; GNT).

Yes in these end times shortly to be followed by the culmination of the end times; we are faced with many problems since we are actually witnessing the fulfillment of prophecies, see 2 Timothy 3:1-4, ” Remember that there will be difficult times in the last days. 2 People will be selfish, greedy, boastful, and conceited; they will be insulting, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, and irreligious; 3 they will be unkind, merciless, slanderers, violent, and fierce; they will hate the good; 4 they will be treacherous, reckless, and swollen with pride; they will love pleasure rather than God;”(GNT).   No one is exempt from the troubles of living in the end times per Mark 13:3-10, ” Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, across from the Temple, when Peter, James, John, and Andrew came to him in private. 4 "Tell us when this will be," they said, "and tell us what will happen to show that the time has come for all these things to take place."    5 Jesus said to them, "Watch out, and don't let anyone fool you. 6 Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, "I am he!' and they will fool many people. 7 And don't be troubled when you hear the noise of battles close by and news of battles far away. Such things must happen, but they do not mean that the end has come. 8 Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another. There will be earthquakes everywhere, and there will be famines. These things are like the first pains of childbirth. 9 "You yourselves must watch out. You will be arrested and taken to court. You will be beaten in the synagogues; you will stand before rulers and kings for my sake to tell them the Good News. 10 But before the end comes, the gospel must be preached to all peoples.”  (GNT).
Jesus (Yeshua) warned his true followers they would suffer opposition per John 15:18-21, ”  "If the world hates you, just remember that it has hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, then the world would love you as its own. But I chose you from this world, and you do not belong to it; that is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: "Slaves are not greater than their master.' If people persecuted me, they will persecute you too; if they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours too.  21 But they will do all this to you because you are mine; for they do not know the one who sent me.”(GNT).   People would NOT appreciate the true form of worship – would hate his true followers per Matthew 10:22, ” Everyone will hate you because of me. But whoever holds out to the end will be saved.”(GNT).
Often, Jesus’ (Yeshua’s) true followers would be targets of misinformation, snipes, and malicious propaganda from individuals and the media.   This is seen on various BBs on the Internet also.   On one BB, one poster posted a malicious post that even falsely claimed Jesus” (Yeshua’s) true followers were saying that Catholics were people eaters and other untrue things which was nothing more than malicious misinformation, i.e., lies.
Of course it would take many volumes to cover all the lies, malicious propaganda, and misinformation being spread against God’s (YHWH) true followers in this end times, but the psalmist wrote at Psalm 34:19, ” Good people suffer many troubles, but the Lord saves them from them all;”(GNT).

True followers of Jesus (Yeshua) and his Father (YHWH) never say, “believe me because this is what this or that organization says; but believe because this is what the Bible says.   They speak NOT hatred of others, nor do they spread malicious propaganda and misinformation about others as do the followers of the god of this system (see 2 Corinthians 4:4).   Jesus’ (Yeshua’s) true followers always keep in mind 2 Timothy 3:16-17, ” All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, 17 so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.” (GNT); and Matthew 22:36-40, ” "Teacher," he asked, "which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus answered, " "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'  38 This is the greatest and the most important commandment. 39 The second most important commandment is like it: "Love your neighbor as you love yourself.'  40 The whole Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets depend on these two commandments." (GNT).   Also, they should properly process information and pay attention to all caveats instead of miss processing information, remembering what Matthew 24:36 says, ” "No one knows, however, when that day and hour will come—neither the angels in heaven nor the Son; the Father alone knows.”(Gnt).   Clearly the date is only known to Almighty God (YHWH), and NOT even to the Son of God (YHWH), Jesus (Yeshua).

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]  Discourse on the Son of Man

[1]     SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 304A]

That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.  1 Peter 4:2,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

We no longer live by the old law covenant, but in the new covenant put in place by Jesus (Yeshua) per Galatians 2:19 – 21, [AV] “For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.  20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  21  I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”  Yes, he died for all of us so we may have an opportunity for life as pointed out at 2 Corinthians 5:15, [AV] “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”  We must seek to comprehend what the will of Almighty God (YHWH), Jesus’ (Yeshua’s) Father is as testified to at Ephesians 5:17, [AV] “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

[2]    Discourse on the Son of Man:

INTRODUCTION:

In the Bible, both old or Hebrew testament and new or Greek testament parts, the expression Son of Man is often used.  What does it mean and why is Jesus (Yeshua) Christ often and correctly called "the Son of Man" as is done for example at Matthew 10:23, "But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone through the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come." (American Standard Version; ASV).

For an answer let's examine what in Hebrew is often translated this way.  We find the Hebrew expression to be 'ben-'a-dham.'  This expression does not refer to Adam, 'a-dham,' but is an expression used to refer to mankind in general.  In other words 'ben-'a-dham' means, in essence, "a son of mankind, specifically an earthly son or human as shown at Psalms 80:17, "Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself." (Webster Bible, a King James updated into modern English by Noah Webster); and at Psalms 146:3, "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help." (WB).  This phrase is often used in conjunction with other Hebrew terms for "man", namely, 'ish', meaning "a male person" such as at Job 35:8, "Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art: and thy righteousness may profit the son of man." (WB), and 'enohsh,' "a mortal man." At Psalms 144:e, the "son or mortal man" is ben-'enohsh', "For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead." (WB).

Now the Koine Greek equivalent of the Hebrew 'ben-'a-dham' is 'hui-os' tou anthro'pou' the latter part of which represents the Koine Greek generic word for "man" as used in Koine Greek at Matthew 16:27, "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds." (ASV).

"THE SON OF MAN" AS APPLIED TO JESUS (YESHUA) CHRIST:

This expression is found approximately 80 times in the new or Greek testament and every time it is used to apply only to Jesus (Yeshua) Christ and no one else, Why?  In fact Jesus (Yeshua) even applied it to himself clearly showing that God's (YHWH's) Son

was now indeed a human, having become flesh as shown at John 1:14, "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth." (ASV), since he had been born out of a woman, Mary, through his birth per Luke 1:34-36, "And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God.  36 And behold, Elisabeth thy kinswoman, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her that was called barren." (ASV).  Thus he had not simply materialized a human body as angels had done in the past.  He was no incarnation, but was actually a "son of manking" through his human mother.

Since he was fully human, although a perfect human, the Apostle Paul could apply Psalms 8 as prophetic of Jesus (Yeshua) Christ at Hebrews 2:5-9, "

For not to messengers did He subject the coming world, concerning which we speak, 6 and one in a certain place did testify fully, saying, `What is man, ['enohsh'] that Thou art mindful of him, or a son of man, [ben-'a-dham'] that Thou dost look after him  7 Thou didst make him some little less than messengers, with glory and honour Thou didst crown him, and didst set him over the works of Thy hands  8 all things Thou didst put in subjection under his feet,' for in the subjecting to him the all things, nothing did He leave to him unsubjected, and now not yet do we see the all things subjected to him  9 and him who was made some little less than messengers we see -- Jesus -- because of the suffering of the death, with glory and honour having been crowned, that by the grace of God for every one he might taste of death." (Youngs Literal Translation).  Compare to Psalms 8:4-6, "What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  6 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor.  7 Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:" (WB).  Paul goes on to showed at Hebrews 2:8-9, quoted above, that Jesus (Yeshua) clearly fulfilled the prophecy at Psalms 8:4-6, previously quoted, when he actually became a mortal, son of earthling man.

This disignation, "Son of man,' therefore, also serves to identify Jesus (Yeshua) Christ as the great kinsman of mankind with the power to redeem them from bondage to sin and death, as well as to identify his as the great avenger of blood per Leviticus 25:48-49, "after he hath been sold, there is a right of redemption to him; one of his brethren doth redeem him,  49 or his uncle, or a son of his uncle, doth redeem him, or any of the relations of his flesh, of his family, doth redeem him, or -- his own hand hath attained -- then he hath been redeemed." (Youngs Literal Translation); And at Numbers 25:1-29, "And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, in the plains of Moab, by Jordan, `near' Jericho, saying,  2 `Command the sons of Israel, and they have given to the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to inhabit; also a suburb for the cities round about them ye do give to the Levites.  3 And the cities have been to them to inhabit, and their suburbs are for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.  4`And the suburbs of the cities which ye give to the Levites `are', from the wall of the city and without, a thousand cubits round about.  5 And ye have measured from the outside of the city, the east quarter, two thousand by the cubit, and the south quarter, two thousand by the cubit, and the west quarter, two thousand by the cubit, and the north quarter, two thousand by the cubit; and the city `is' in the midst; this is to them the suburbs of the cities.  6     `And the cities which ye give to the Levites `are' the six cities of refuge, which ye give for the fleeing thither of the man-slayer, and besides them ye give forty and two cities;  7 all the cities which ye give to the Levites `are' forty and eight cities, them and their suburbs.  8 And the cities which ye give `are' of the possession of the sons of Israel, from the many ye multiply, and from the few ye diminish; each, according to his inheritance which they inherit, doth give of his cities to the Levites.' 9      And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,  10 `Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When ye are passing over the Jordan to the land of Canaan,  11 and have prepared to yourselves cities -- cities of refuge they are to you -- then fled thither hath a man-slayer, smiting a person unawares,  12 and the cities have been to you for a refuge from the redeemer, and the man-slayer doth not die till his standing before the company for judgment.    13 `As to the cities which ye give -- six `are' cities of refuge to you;  14 the three of the cities ye give beyond the Jordan, and the three of the cities ye give in the land of Canaan; cities of refuge they are.  15 To sons of Israel, and to a sojourner, and to a settler in their midst, are these six cities for a refuge, for the fleeing thither of any one smiting a person unawares.  16 `And if with an instrument of iron he hath smitten him, and he dieth, he `is' a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death.  17 `And if with a stone `in' the hand, wherewith he dieth, he hath smitten him, and he dieth, he `is' a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death. 18 `Or with a wooden instrument `in' the hand, wherewith he dieth, he hath smitten him, and he dieth, he `is' a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death.  19 `The redeemer of blood himself doth put the murderer to death; in his coming against him he doth put him to death.  20 `And if in hatred he thrust him through, or hath cast `anything' at him by lying in wait, and he dieth;  21 or in enmity he hath smitten him with his hand, and he dieth; the smiter is certainly put to death; he `is' a murderer; the redeemer of blood doth put the murderer to death in his coming against him. 22      `And if, in an instant, without enmity, he hath thrust him through, or hath cast at him any instrument, without lying in wait;  23 or with any stone wherewith he dieth, without seeing, and causeth `it' to fall upon him, and he dieth, and he `is' not his enemy, nor seeking his evil;  24 then have the company judged between the smiter and the redeemer of blood, by these judgments.  25 `And the company have delivered the man-slayer out of the hand of the redeemer of blood, and the company have caused him to turn back unto the city of his refuge, whither he hath fled, and he hath dwelt in it till the death of the chief priest, who hath been anointed with the holy oil.  26 `And if the man-slayer at all go out `from' the border of the city of his refuge whither he fleeth,  27 and the redeemer of blood hath found him at the outside of the border of the city of his refuge, and the redeemer of blood hath slain the man-slayer, blood is not for him;  28 for in the city of his refuge he doth dwell till the death of the chief priest; and after the death of the chief priest doth the man-slayer turn back unto the city of his possession.  29 `And these things have been to you for a statute of judgment to your generations, in all your dwellings." (Youngs Literal Translation).

Also, as a sidelight, Jesus (Yeshua) was called at Matthew 1:1, "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." (ASV) which emphasizes his being the heir of the kingdom covenant to be fulfilled in David's line; whereas his being called the "Son of man" calls attention to his being an actual human by virtue of his fleshly birth.  Whereas, his being called the "Son of God" over 40 times stresses his being of divine origin and not a descendent therefore of the sinner Adam, thus not inheriting imperfection from him but having a sinless standing with God (YHWH) as testified to at Matthew 16:13-17, "Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is?  14 And they said, Some `say' John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.  15 He saith unto them, But who say ye that I am?  16    And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.  17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven." (ASV).

WHY DID JESUS (YESHUA) USE THE EXPRESSION, 'SON OF MAN' OFTEN?:

Jesus (Yeshua) used the expression Son of man often and applied it to himself.  Why?  He used it with regard to the fulfillment of the prophecy recorded at Daniel 7:13-14, "I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.  14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." (WB).

Daniel did not understand this vision and asked for its interpretation as testified to at Daniel 7:15-22 & 27

, "I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. 16 I came near to one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.  17   These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.  18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.  19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;  20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.  21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom." And "27  And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him." (WB).  In fact, this anointed king, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ made a covenant for kingdom with his followers as shown at Luke 22:28-30, "But ye are they that have continued with me in my temptations;  29 and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,  30 that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel." (ASV); And at Revelation 5:9-10, "And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood `men' of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,  10 and madest them `to be' unto our God a kingdom and priests; and they reign upon earth." (ASV); And at Revelation 20:3-4, "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and `I saw' the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.  5 The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection.  6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." (ASV).

Jesus (Yeshua) makes this even more clear when he states at Matthew 24:30, "and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." (ASV).  This is of course a clear reference to Daniel's prophecy; so, likewise, was his answer to the interrogation he received from the high priest as recorded at Mark 16:61-62, "But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?  62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven." (ASV); And at Matthew 26:63-64, "But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.  64 Jesus said unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven." (ASV).

Thus the prophecy of the Son of man coming into the presence of the Ancient of Days, God (YHWH), clearly applies to the Messiah, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ.  That is was understood this way by the Jewish people is found in the Rabbinic writings applied to this prophecy with respect to the Messiah in "Soncino Books of the Bible" edited by A Cohen with respect his commentary on Daniel 7:13.  It was clearly with respect this prophecy that the Pharisses and Sadduces asked Jesus to, per Matthew 16:1, "And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and trying him asked him to show them a sign from heaven." (ASV).

After Jesus (Yeshua) Christ had been put to death, his disciple, Stephen, had a vision  at Acts 7:56, "and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God." (ASV); Thus showing that Jesus (Yeshua) Christ, although sacrificing his human nature and body as a ransom for mankind, rightly retains the Messianic designation, Son of man, in his heavenly position.

In the first part of his statement to the high priest about the coming of the Son of man, he spoke of him as, per Matthew 22:42-45, "saying, What think ye of the Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, `The son' of David.  43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,  44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I put thine enemies underneath thy feet?  45 If David then calleth him Lord, how is he his son?" (ASV), which of course was a reference to the prophecy at Psalm 110:1-7, "A Psalm of David. The affirmation of Jehovah to my Lord: `Sit at My right hand, Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.'  2 The rod of thy strength doth Jehovah send from Zion, Rule in the midst of thine enemies.  3 Thy people `are' free-will gifts in the day of Thy strength, in the honours of holiness, From the womb, from the morning, Thou hast the dew of thy youth.  4 Jehovah hath sworn, and doth not repent, `Thou `art' a priest to the age, According to the order of Melchizedek.' 5      The Lord on thy right hand smote kings In the day of His anger.  6 He doth judge among the nations, He hath completed the carcases, Hath smitten the head over the mighty earth.  7 From a brook in the way he drinketh, Therefore he doth lift up the head!" (Youngs Literal Translation).  Of course this Psalm was what the Apostle Paul referred to when he wrote Hebrews 10:12-13, "but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;  13 henceforth expecting till his enemies be made the footstool of his feet." (ASV).  Hereby showing the fulfillment of the prophecy given at Daniel 7:13-14, previously quoted.  The fulfillment actually comes not when Jesus (Yeshua) ascended to heaven at the time of his resurrection, but at the time of his being authorized by God to take action against all those who oppose his kingly authority as shown at 1 Corinthians 15:22-28, "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." (Authorized King James Bible; AV).  This time is indicated as corresponding in time with the situation presented at Revelation 12:5-10, "And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne.  6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her a thousand two hundred and threescore days.  7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels `going forth' to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels;  8 And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.  9   And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.  10 And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before our God day and night." (ASV).

Interestingly Revelation 17:12-14 shows, "And the ten horns that thou sawest are ten kings, who have received no kingdom as yet; but they receive authority as kings, with the beast, for one hour.  13 These have one mind, and they give their power and authority unto the beast.  14 These shall war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they `also shall overcome' that are with him, called and chosen and faithful." (ASV), the Messianic King, Jesus (Yeshua) exercising full regnal power as does Revelation 19:11-21, "And I saw the heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon called Faithful and True; and in righteous he doth judge and make war.  12  And his eyes `are' a flame of fire, and upon his head `are' many diadems; and he hath a name written which no one knoweth but he himself.  13 And he `is' arrayed in a  14 And the armies which are in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white `and' pure.  15 And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty.  16     And he hath on his garment and on his thigh a name written, KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.  17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid heaven, Come `and' be gathered together unto the great supper of God;  18 that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of them that sit thereon, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, and small and great.  19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat upon the horse, and against his army.  20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burneth with brimstone:  21 and the rest were killed with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, `even the sword' which came forth out of his mouth: and all the birds were filled with their flesh." (ASV).  This in keeping with Daniel 7:14, previously quoted, and thus is like a son of man as shown at Revelation 14:14, "And I saw, and behold, a white cloud; and on the cloud `I saw' one sitting like unto a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand sharp sickle." (ASV), thus undoubtedly representing Jesus (Yeshua) Christ as the one so described at Revelation 1:13, "and in the midst of the candlesticks one like unto a son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about at the breasts with a golden girdle." (ASV); And Revelation 14:14-20, "And I saw, and behold, a white cloud; and on the cloud `I saw' one sitting like unto a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand sharp sickle. 15   And another angel came out from the temple, crying with a great voice to him that sat on the cloud, Send forth thy sickle, and reap: for the hour to reap is come; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.  16 And he that sat on the cloud cast his sickle upon the earth; and the earth was reaped.  17 Another angel came out from the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.  18 And another angel came out from the altar, he that hath power over fire; and he called with a great voice to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Send forth thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.  19 And the angel cast his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vintage of the earth, and cast it into the winepress, the great `winepress', of the wrath of God.  20 And the winepress are trodden without the city, and there came out blood from the winepress, even unto the bridles of the horses, as far as a thousand and six hundred furlongs." (ASV).

Always remember John 8:23, "and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (ASV), and be ye not mislead by the misguided who can readily be spotted by their anti-Christian acts such as falsely accusing others and by intolerance.

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND THE RARE FRUIT TREES AND VEGETABLES.   With the Scripture of the Day first.

[1]   SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 305A]

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.  Hebrews 13:17, [authorized King James Bible; AV]

It is shown at Proverbs 6:23, [AV] “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:”  We are warned at 1 Timothy 6:9 – 12, [AV] “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.  10  For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  11  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.  12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”  Yes, we should be per 1 Timothy 6:8, [AV] “And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”  And Philippians 4:10 - 11, [AV] says, “But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.  11  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”

[2]     THE RARE FRUIT TREES AND VEGETABLES
Here is a Commentary on Bountiful Trees and Vegetables God (YHWH) has provided for mankind, specifically the Mimusops elengi Maulsari is a medium-sized evergreen tree found in tropical forests in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Northern Australia. English common names include Spanish cherry,[1] Medlar,[1] and Bullet wood. In Hindi Maulsari. Its timber is valuable, the fruit is edible, and it has traditional medicinal uses.

Bullet wood is an evergreen tree reaching a height of about 16 m. It flowers in April, and fruiting occurs in June. Leaves are glossy, dark green, oval shaped, 5–14 cm long and 2.5–6 cm wide. Flowers are cream, hairy and scented. Bark is thick and appears dark brownish black or grayish black in colour, with striations and a few cracks on the surface. The tree may reach up to a height of 9–18 m with about 1 m in circumference.

Ayurvedic uses
The bark, flowers, fruits and seeds are astringent, cooling, anthelmintic, tonic, and febrifuge. It is mainly used in dental ailments like bleeding gums, pyorrhea, dental caries and loose teeth.

Extract of flowers used against heart diseases, leucorrhoea, menorrhagia and act as antiduretic in polyuria and antitoxin. The snuff made from the dried and powdered flowers used in a disease called Ahwa in which strong fever, headache and pain in the neck, shoulders and other parts of the body occurs.
Ripened fruits facilitates in burning urination. The ripe fruit pounded and mixed with water is given to promote delivery in childbirth. Powder of dried flowers is a brain tonic and useful as a snuff to relieve cephalalgia. Decoction of bark is used to wash the wounds.

Other uses
* The edible fruit is softly hairy becoming smooth, ovoid, bright red-orange when ripe.
* The wood is a luxurious wood that is extremely hard, strong and tough, and rich deep red in color. The heart wood is sharply defined from the sapwood. It works easily and takes a beautiful polish. Weight is 1008 kg per cubic meter.

Studies
• Anti-Ulcer: Study investigating the effect of Mimusops elengi against experimental gastric ulcers showed anti-ulcer activity that can be attributed to decrease in gastric acid secretory activity along with strengthening of the mucosal defense mechanisms.
• Antibacterial: (1) Study isolated two antibacterial compounds from the seeds of M elengi – 2,3-dihydro-3.3'4'5,7-pentahydroxyflavone and 3'3',4;,5,7-pentahydroxyflavone – which showed strong inhibitory activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. (2) Study of an ethanolic bark extract of M elengi showed significant activity against three Staph isolates including S aureus. (3) Study of extracts of bark, fruit, and seed for antibacterial activity showed the fruit and seed extracts to be inactive. Stem bark showed activity against 6 bacteria, with the ethyl acetate extract showing highet inhibition against B. subtilis.
• Diuretic: Study of M elengi extracts showed potent diuretic and electrolyte excretion activity, highest in the alcoholic extracts, none in the chloroform and petroleum ether extracts.
• Antifungal: Study of the aqueous, methanol and ethanol extracts of M elengi exhibited highly significant antifungal activity against all tested fungi. Results suggest it may be exploited in the management of seed borne pathogenic fungi and prevent biodeterioration of grains and mytoxin elaboration during storage.
• Free Radical Scavenging Activity: Study of the methanol extract of leaves of M elengi showed significant activities in all antioxidant assays in a dose-dependent manner, compared to reference standard ascorbic acid.
• Anti-Diabetes: (1) Study in alloxan induced diabetic rats produced significant alterations in the biochemical and enzymatic parameters studies and reveals the anti-hyperglycemic potential of the bark extract of M elengi. (2) Study evaluated M. elengi extracts for antidiabetic activity against dexamethasone-induced diabetes in mice. Results showed the aqueous and n-Butanol fraction to have significant activity, with antioxidant activity along with ability to increase glycogenesis that could be beneficial in the management of insulin resistance diabetes and diabetic complications
• Anti-Inflammatory / Analgesic / Antipyretic: Study of 70% ethanol extract showed anti-inflammatory activity with significant inhibition of carrageenan-induced paw oedema, analgesic activity with decreased acetic acid-induced writhing, and antipyretic activity with decreased rectal temperature in Brewer's yeast-induced pyrexia.
• Cytotoxic / Anticancer: Study tested the cytotoic and anti-mitotic effect of standard anti-cancer drug cychophosphaide and an ethanolic extract of M. elengi barks in A. cepa root tip meristem model. Results demonstrated the extract to exhibit cytotoxic properties like the standard anticancer drug cyclophosphamide.
• Antioxidant: Study of a chloroform extract showed a total phenolic content significantly higher to stardard reference standard gallic acid. Results showed M. elengi had significant potential to use as a natural antioxidant agent.
• Memory and Anxiety Effects: Study evaluated the effects of a methanolic, aqueous, and n-butanol extract of bark on memory and anxiety-lite states. Methanolic extract at 200 mg/kg was found to have more significant activity as compared to aqueous and n-butanol extract.
• Antihyperlipidemic / Synergism with Moringa oleifera: Study evaluated the effects of combined extracts of M. elengi and Moringa oleifera on high fat diet-induced atheroma in rats. Antioxidant studies showed the combined extracts group produced significant reduction of LPO and increase level of SOD and catalase without any fatty infiltration and intimal layer thickeness. Mimusops showed better effect than the Moringa extract. The significant anti-atheroslceoritc activity may be due to flavonoids present in the leaves.
• Anti-Urolithiatic / Antioxidant: Study showed significant lowering of stone forming constituents in the kidneys of calculogenic rats with the alchohol extract. It also decreased the MDA, increased GSH, SOD, and CAT. The results confirmed the alcoholextract possess antiurolithiatic activity.
• Hypotensive Effect: Study showed a methanolic extract to cause hypotensive activity in anesthetized rats. The effect was dose-dependent, and independent of adrenergic, muscarinic, and histaminergic receptors. The results suggest M. elengi might possess calcium-blocking activity to explain its hypotensive effect.  (source - retrieved from   http://www.stuartxchange.org/Kabiki.html  on  3/23/2013)

In Genesis 1:11-13, "And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after their kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day. Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2] Discourse on Moses Foretold the Coming of Jesus (Yeshua)

[1]     SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 306A]

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.  67  Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?  68  Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.  69  And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.  John 6:66 – 69, [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Jesus (Yeshua) told his followers many things hard to understand, and many left him at that time.  Luke 9:62, [AV] he said, “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”  And Jesus (Yeshua) said at Matthew 11:6, [AV] “And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”  Simon Peter recognized that only he had the sayings of life and said, Matthew 16:16 - 17, [AV] “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.  17  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”  Peter well knew who he was as shown by Luke 9:20, [AV] “He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.”

[2]     Discourse on Moses Foretold the Coming of Jesus (Yeshua):

INTRODUCTION:

The coming of Jesus (Yeshua), the Messiah, was foretold by the Prophet Moses (Mosche). In fact, Moses (Mosche) prefigured Jesus (Yeshua) Christ. How so? For one the Prophet Moses was a mediator between God (YHWH) and the nation of Israel; whereas, Jesus (Yeshua) would later be made by God (YHWH), his Father, the only mediator between God (YHWH) and mankind per 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men, [himself] man, Christ Jesus," (American Standard Version; ASV). Interestingly even in death there was a parallel between the Prophet Moses and Jesus (Yeshua) in that is both cases God (YHWH) disposed of their bodies, but we will get into that in more detail later. But unlike the Prophet Moses who stumbled, and Jesus (Yeshua) did not. Now let's go into depth on the subject.

PREFIGURED JESUS (YESHUA) CHRIST:

When Jesus (Yeshua) was on earth, he made it clear that Moses (Mosche) had written about him. On one occasion he told his opposers, John 5:43-47, "I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that [cometh] from the only God ye seek not? 45 Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, [even] Moses, on whom ye have set your hope. 46 For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?" (ASV). In fact, this was affirmed also when Jesus (Yeshua) was speaking to his disciples at Luke 24:25-27, "And he said unto them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Behooved it not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself." (ASV); and by the disciple Philip at John 1:45, "Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. 46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! 48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. 49 Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art King of Israel. 50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee underneath the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. 51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye shall see the heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man." (ASV).

Moses (Mosche) himself wrote many things concerning Jesus (Yeshua), for example at Deuteronomy 18:17-19, "And Jehovah said unto me, They have well said that which they have spoken. 18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him." (ASV). Interestingly the Apostle Peter, when he quoted from this prophecy left no doubt that it was referring to Jesus (Yeshua) as shown at Acts 3:18-22, "But the things which God foreshowed by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled. 19 Repent ye therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that he may send the Christ who hath been appointed for you, [even] Jesus: 21 whom the heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, whereof God spake by the mouth of His holy prophets that have been from of old. 22 Moses indeed said, A prophet shall the Lord God raise up unto you from among your brethren, like unto me. To him shall ye hearken in all things whatsoever he shall speak unto you." (ASV).

Interestingly this fact that Jesus (Yeshua) was the prophet spoken of by the Prophet Moses(Mosche) was made vividly clear in the transfiguration scene that the the Apostles Peter, James, and John were permitted to see where Moses and Elijah were seen figuratively speaking with Jesus. This scene represented the Law Covenant, the theocratic government or arrangement of the congregation, the deliverance of the nation, and the coming of the Promised Land. This vision clearly showed that Jesus (Yeshua) would do greater works than Moses, and that he would also do work like that of Elijah, but in a more grand way. Thus it was clearly manifested that Jesus (Yeshua) was the Son of God (YHWH) and was indeed the 'Prophet greater than was Moses', but let's look at what the Bible shows about the transfiguration at Matthew 17:1-3, "And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart: 2 and he was transfigured before them; and his face did shine as the sun, and his garments became white as the light. 3 And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him." (ASV).

In fact, there was a significant pictorial correspondency between these two, Jesus (Yeshua) and Moses (Mosche). Both infants escaped a wholesale slaughter of male infants ordered by a ruler of their time.

Moses (Mosche) - Exodus 1:22 and 2:1-10, "And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive." And "And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. 2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. 3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch; and she put the child therein, and laid it in the flags by the river's brink. 4 And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him. 5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river-side; and she saw the ark among the flags, and sent her handmaid to fetch it. 6 And she opened it, and saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children. 7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? 8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maiden went and called the child's mother. 9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. 10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses, and said, Because I drew him out of the water." (ASV).

Whereas, Jesus (Yeshua) - Matthew 2:13-18, "Now when they were departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I tell thee: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. 14 And he arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt; 15 and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt did I call my son. 16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the Wise-men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the male children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the borders thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had exactly learned of the Wise-men. 17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, 18 A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; And she would not be comforted, because they are not. " (ASV).

Both were at one time called out of Egypt with God's (YHWH's) 'firstborn', the nation of Israel. Jesus (Yeshua) was called out of Egype as God's (YHWH) firstborn son.

Moses (Mosche) - Exodus 4:22-23, "And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, Israel is my son, my first-born: 23 and I have said unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me; and thou hast refused to let him go: behold, I will slay thy son, thy first-born." (ASV), And Hosea 11:1, "When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt." (ASV)

Jesus (Yeshua) - Matthew 2:15 and 19-21, "and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt did I call my son." And "But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, 20 Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead that sought the young child's life. 21 And he arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel." (ASV)

Both Moses (Mosche) and Jesus (Yeshua) were exceptionally humble and meek.

Moses (Mosche) - Numbers 12:3, "Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men that were upon the face of the earth.

Jesus (Yeshua) - Matthew 11:28-30, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (ASV)

Both Moses (Mosche) and Jesus (Yeshua) fasted for 40 days in a wilderness location.

Moses (Mosche) - Exodus 34:28, "And he was there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments." (ASV)

Jesus (Yeshua) - Matthew 4:1-2, "Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered. " (ASV).

MOSES (MOSCHE) AND JESUS (YESHUA) AS MEDIATORS:

Moses (Mosche) was the mediator of the Law Covenant between God (YHWH) and the ancient nation of Israel for God (YHWH); whereas, Jesus (Yeshua) became the Mediator of the New Covenant between God (YHWH) and his nation of faithful followers, the 'spiritual Israel,' as shown at 1 Peter 2:9-12, "But ye are a elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God's] own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lust, which war against the soul; 12 having your behavior seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation."; and at Galatians 6:16-19, " And as many as shall walk by this rule, peace [be] upon them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. 17 Henceforth, let no man trouble me; for I bear branded on my body the marks of Jesus. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen" (ASV); and at Exodus 19:3-9, "And Moses went up unto God, and Jehovah called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine: 6 and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. 7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Jehovah commanded him. 8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that Jehovah hath spoken we will do. And Moses reported the words of the people unto Jehovah." (ASV); and at Luke 22:19-20, "And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20 And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, [even] that which is poured out for you" (ASV); and at Hebrews 86-7, "But now hath he obtained a ministry the more excellent, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which hath been enacted upon better promises. 7 For if that first [covenant] had been faultless, then would no place have been sought for a second" (ASV).

BOTH WERE JUDGES AND LAWGIVERS.

Both Moses (Mosche) and Jesus (Yeshua) Christ served as lawgivers, leaders and judges of the congregation. This was shown with respect Moses (Mosche) as a judge at Exodus 18:13, "And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood about Moses from the morning unto the evening." (ASV); and as a leader at Exodus 32:34, "And now go, lead the people unto [the place] of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine angel shall go before thee; nevertheless in the day when I visit, I will visit their sin upon them." (ASV); and Daniel 9:25, "Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed one, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troublous times." (ASV).

Whereas, Jesus (Yeshua) was shown to be the appointed leader at Matthew 23:8-12, "But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, [even] he who is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, [even] the Christ. 11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted." (ASV); and as the appointed judge at John 5:21-30, "For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will. 22 For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son; 23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life. 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself: 27 and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice, 29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment. 30 I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me." (ASV); and that he would be the leader of a new congregation is shown at John 1334-35,: "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (ASV); and affirmed at John 15:14-17, "Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I heard from my Father, I have made known unto you. 16 Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17 These things I command you, that ye may love one another." (ASV).

Whereas, Moses (Mosche) was given the stewardship over the ancient nation of Israel or God's (YHWH's) congregation at that time, Jesus (Yeshua) is given the stewardship over spiritual Israel, the congregation of God (YHWH) today per Numbers 12:7 in the case of Moses (Mosche), "My servant Moses is not so; he is faithful in all my house:". With respect Jesus (Yeshua) Hebrews 3:1-6 says, "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, [even] Jesus; 2 who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house. 3 For he hath been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by so much as he that built the house hath more honor than the house. 4 For every house is builded by some one; but he that built all things is God. 5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken; 6 but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end." (ASV).

MEDIATOR OF A NEW COVENANT:

Whereas Moses (Mosche) was a mediator and judge under the old Law Covenant, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ is the mediator of the new covenant as has been shown above. He is the greater prophet spoken of by Moses (Mosche) who prefigured him. Some try and falsely claim that Jesus (Yeshua) Christ was just a prophet and fail to recognize he was much more since God (YHWH), his Father, has appointed him as the mediator over the New Covenant as previously shown. In fact 1 Corinthians 15:22-28 shows that God (YHWH) has given him all authority over everything but himself who was exempted at 1 Corinthians 15:27, let's look at these scriptures, " For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ's, at his coming. 24 Then [cometh] the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be abolished is death. 27 For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him. 28 And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all." (ASV). Clearly this scripture leaves no doubt with respect to his authority and shows clearly he is the prophet greater than Moses (Mosche) that Moses (Mosche) said was coming.

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   Discourse on Jesus' (Yeshua's) Command, "Go and Make Disciples"

[1]      SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 307A]

But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.  Jeremiah 10:10, [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Trust in Almighty God (YHWH) and commit onto him per Psalms 31:5, [AV] “Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.”  Joshua was an individual who had complete faith in the power of the Lord to deliver as shown at Joshua 5:33, [AV] “And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.”  Yes, we must be careful to obey Him and not bring his wrath as testified to at Psalms 76:7, [AV] “Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?”

Francis David said it long ago, "Neither the sword of popes...nor the image of death will halt the march of truth. "Francis David, 1579, written on the wall of his prison cell." Read the book, "What Does The Bible Really Teach" and the Bible today, and go to WWW.JW.ORG!

[2]      Discourse on Jesus' (Yeshua's) Command, "Go and Make Disciples"

It was a spring day in Israel in 33 C.E. and Jesus (Yeshua) commanded his disciples to, per Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: 20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." (American Standard Version; ASV).  This was reaffirmed by his commission he gave his true followers at Matthew 24:14, "And this good news of the kingdom must be preached all over the inhabited world, for a testimony to all the heathen, and then the end will come." (The New Testament by Charles B. Williams; TNTCW).

Now some may ask by what authority did Jesus (Yeshua) issue such a commission or command and this is authority he issued it on came right from his Father, Almighty God (YHWH) as testified to at Matthew 28:18-20, as previously quoted.  It is affirmed and the extent of this authority is clearly shown at 1 Corinthians 15:22-28, "Seeing that Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness; 24 but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For behold your calling, brethren, that not many wise after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, `are called': 27 but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; 28 and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, `yea' and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are:" (American Standard Version; ASV), and he is clearly shown as the only mediator between God (YHWH) and mankind at 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, and also one mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus." (The New English Bible; NEB).

Therefore, as we have seen his authority is both very great and very broad in that he was given authority over all except his Father (YHWH) as clearly shown at 1 Corinthians 15:27, "For the scripture says, 'God put all things under his feet.'  It is clear, of course, that the words 'all things' do not include God himself, who puts all things under Christ." (The New Testament in Today's English Version; TEV

).  He, Jesus (Yeshua) has authority over both his congregation and over God's (YHWH's) newly established Kingdom as shown by Colossians 1:13, "For he rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of his dear Son," (TEV).  And this is reaffirmed and further clarified at Revelation 11:15, "Then the seventh angle blew; and loud voices followed in heaven, crying, 'The rule of the world has passed to our Lord [YHWH] and his Christ [Yeshua], and he shall reign for ever and ever." (The Bible, A New Translation by Dr. James Moffatt, D.D., D.Litt., M.A.; JM).  He has been empowered by his Father (YHWH) to bring to nothing, per 1 Ephesians 1:20-23, "which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,  21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.  22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,  23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." (The New King James Version; NKJV).   His authority is not limited to only the living.  He is also to the dead as testified to at Acts 10:42-43, "and he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify fully that it is he who hath been ordained by God judge of living and dead - 43 to this one do all the prophets testify, that through his name every one that is believing in him doth receive remission of sins.'" (Young's Literal Translation; YLT); and John 5:25-30, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that have heard shall live. 26 For even as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself, 27 and has given him authority to execute judgment [also], because he is Son of man. 28 Wonder not at this, for an hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs shall hear his voice, 29 and shall go forth; those that have practised good, to resurrection of life, and those that have done evil, to resurrection of judgment. 30 I cannot do anything of myself; as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my will, but the will of him that has sent me." (The Darby Translation; DT).

What should we be doing now that we know Jesus (Yeshua) truly has total legitimate authority toward both the living and the dead of manking?  We should be respectful and willingly obey Jesus (Yeshua) Christ's command to "go and make disciples," i.e., preach the word of God (YHWH).

28743 46    15    24    Then `cometh' the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   DISCOURSE ON JESUS NOT JEHOVAH HIS FATHER

[1]     SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 308A]

John 8:42 Jesus (Yeshua) said to them, " Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me." (Authorized King James Bible; AV).

Jesus (Yeshua) said he comes from God. The flesh cannot be speaking for the flesh was created. So Jesus (Yeshua)'s spiritual being came from God. Jesus (Yeshua) did not send himself, he did not come on his own, but before he was on earth, God sent him. Jesus (Yeshua) was sent by God into the world, so Jesus (Yeshua) is before the world with God.  He is referred to a Pr. 8:22-31, “The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.  23  I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.  24  When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.  25  Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:  26  While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.  27  When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:  28  When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:  29  When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:  30  Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;  31  Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

[2]       DISCOURSE ON JESUS NOT JEHOVAH HIS FATHER:

Here is some short simple logic that proves beyond doubt that Jesus (Yeshua) Christ in NOT Jehovah (YHWH) of the old testament as some claim, but his Son as stated over 40 times in the Word of God (YHWH), the Bible:

Matthew 24:36 proves he is not Jehovah (YHWH). Its quite simple, Jesus (Yeshua) is the Son of God (YHWH) and can NOT be God (YHWH) as shown by his own words at Matthew 24:36, clearly shows that no man, and even Jesus (Yeshua), the Son of God (YHWH), knows the hour for God's (YHWH's) judgment on this earth to come, "But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father". (American Standard Version; ASV). If he were God (YHWH) as some wrongly claim he would of course know the date for the culmination of the end times.

And this fact that Jesus (Yeshua) and Jehovah (YHWH), his Father (YHWH) are two distinct entities is further testified to at Matthew 26:52-56 as follows,"Then saith Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. 53 Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he shall even now send me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then should the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be? 55 In that hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a robber with swords and staves to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and ye took me not. 56 But all this is come to pass, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him, and fled. " (ASV) where Jesus (Yeshua) in his own words clearly says, "Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he shall even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?" clearly showing his Father (YHWH) to be separate and apart from his Father (YHWH).

Or where he clearly shows his Father (YHWH) as being greater than himself at John 14:28, "Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I."(AVS), and this statement would definately NOT be so if they were one and the same.

Or where the Father (YHWH) gives authority over all except himself to Jesus (Yeshua) at 1 Corinthians 15:22-28, " For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 28 And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all.". Now pay particular attention to verse 27 where it says, "For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him." which would be ridiculas and impossible if they were one and the same; for this scripture to be so they would have to be two separate entities.

Or 1 Corinthians 11:3 where the chain-of-authority is shown as, "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God."(ASV). Now if they were one and the same, the statement, "and the head of Christ is God." would be impossible.

Or consider Luke 3:21-23, " Now it came to pass, when all the people were baptized, that, Jesus also having been baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22 and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. 23 And Jesus himself, when he began [to teach], was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the [son] of Heli,"(ASV), which clearly shows Jesus' (Yeshua's) Father, God (YHWH) letting his Holy Spirit or active force come down on his beloved Son, Jesus (Yeshua) and anoint him, once more showing them as two distinct entities.

Or consider John 20:17,"Jesus saith to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended unto the Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God."(ASV) which clearly shows the Son, Jesus (Yeshua) and the Father (YHWH), Jehovah as two distince and separate individuals.

Or consider when Jesus (Yeshua) prayed to his Father (YHWH) at John 17:1-5, "These things spake Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee: 2 even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that to all whom thou hast given him, he should give eternal life. 3 And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, [even] Jesus Christ. 4 I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
"(ASV); which shows him praying to his Father (YHWH) which would have been impossible if they, the Son, Jesus (Yeshua) and the Father, Jehovah (YHWH), were the same individual.

Or John 5:19, "Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner."(ASV) where Jesus (Yeshua) clearly testifies that he, the Son, can "do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing" which leaves no doubt that Jesus (Yeshua) and Jehovah (YHWH), the Father (YHWH) are indeed two separate individuals.

One individual once said, "Some have a problem dealing with what is written concerning the Son and the fact that the NT writers call Him God, Paul calling Him the GREAT God and Savior." which is an incorrect statement meant to cover the fact of their own error; the fact is that the New Testament writers NEVER referred to Jesus (Yeshua) as Almighty God (YHWH), but as the Son of God (YHWH) in over 40 different places. However, some translators mistranslated, for example John 1:1, to make it seem like he was God (YHWH), but a close examination of their mistranslation of John 1:1 clearly shows there is a definite problem as their mistranslation creates an impossible situation. Let's look at John 1:1 and see why this is the case, "In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God: and the Word was God." (Douay Rheims Catholic Bible; DRCB). Now this first says [in the first part of the translational construct] that the "Word was with God," and then [in the second part of the translational construct] that the "Word was God." Obviously you CAN NOT BE BOTH WITH SOMEONE AND BE THAT SOMEONE. This is both impossible and absolutely ridiculas at the same time, and this all the more so when you consider John 1:2, "The same was in the beginning with God." (DRCB).

Thus you can easily see there is something very wrong with this translation and it could IN NO WAY be the thoughts of the original writer, and of course you would be correct. But now what were the thoughts of the original writer? The New English Bible (NEB) captures the thoughts of the original writer as follows for John 1:1-3, "When all things began, the Word already was. The Word dwelt with God, and what God was, the Word was. The Word, then, was with God at the beginning, and through him all things came to be; no single thing was created without him." (The New English Bible; NEB) or in the translation by the renown American translator, An American Translation," by Dr. Edgar J. Goodspeed - transltr, J. M. Powis Smith - transltr. Publisher: University of Chicago Press, "IN THE beginning the Word existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was divine. It was he that was with God in the beginning. Everything came into existence through him, and apart from him nothing came to be." (An American Translation; AAT). Both clearly showing that he was what his father was a diety or divine; but clearly not on the same level with his Father (YHWH) since as he himself said at John 14:28, " You have heard that I said to you: I go away, and I come unto you. If you loved me you would indeed be glad, because I go to the Father: for the Father is greater than I." (DRCB); thus no violation of Exodus 20:3 against polytheism, "Thou shalt not have strange gods before me." (DRCB). And as God's (YHWH's) he showed where worship should be directed in Matthew 4:10 when he was giving an answer to the Devil on worship and to whom it should be given, "Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (American Standard Version; ASV), and this is in keeping with Isaiah 42:8, "I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images." (ASV). Jesus (Yeshua) even showed that his own glory was subordinate to his Father's (YHWH's) and dependent on his Father (YHWH) at John 17:1-5, "These things spake Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee: 2 even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that to all whom thou hast given him, he should give eternal life. 3 And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, [even] Jesus Christ. 4 I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." (ASV). So we can clearly see that Jesus (Yeshua) and His Father (YHWH) must be two separate and distinct individuals as there is NO POSSIBLE WAY THEY COULD BE ONE INDIVIDUAL, since one is dependent on the other for his power, this being the Son, Jesus (Yeshua) who is dependent on his Father (YHWH) who is greater than he is.
