Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]  THE HISTORIC JESUS (YESHUA) CHRIST:  PART 2  [PART 1 AT VOL 868A

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 869A]

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?   Matthew 24:3,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Jesus (Yeshua) answered them at Matthew 24:4 – 6, [AV] “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.  6  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Clearly showing the time for the end of the world (system of things) was still in the future.  At Matthew 24:36, [AV], he revealed, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” The date for the end was NOT known by him, but only known to his father.  But he did reveal to his disciples how the beginning of the culmination of the end times sould be at Matthew 24:7, [AV] “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.  8  All these are the beginning of sorrows.”  And that it would be necessary for all his followers per Matthew 12 – 13, [AV] “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” To stand fast with being his genuine followers during this period.

[2]   Part 2THE HISTORIC JESUS (YESHUA) CHRIST: [PART 1 AT VOL 868A ]

THE HISTORIC RECORD AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Historic Record:

Roman historian Cornelius Tacitus recorded information pertaining to Jesus, thus removing the only supporting source for His existence as being in the New Testament. In 115 A.D., Tactius wrote about the great fire in Rome, "Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberious at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their center and become popular. Accordingly, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty; then upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not so much of the crime of firing the city, as of hatred against mankind. Mockery of every sort was added to their deaths, Covered with the skins of beasts, they were torn by dogs and perished, or were nailed to crosses, or were doomed to the flames and burnt, to serve as a nightly illumination, when daylight had expired. Nero offered his gardens for the spectacle, and was exhibiting a show in the circus, while he mingled with the people in the dress of charioteer or stood aloft on a car. Hence, even for criminals who deserved extreme and exemplary punishment, there arose a feeling of compassion; for it was not, as it seemed, for the public good, but to glut one man's cruelty, that they were being destroyed."

It is believed by some scholars that Tactius gained his information about Christ from official records, perhaps actual reports written by Pilate. Tactius also wrote about the burning of the Jerusalem temple by the Romans in 70 A.D. The Christians are mentioned as a group that were connected with these events. "All we can gather from this reference is that Tactius was also aware of the existence of Christians other than in the context of their presence in Rome," states Habermas. Gaius Suetonius Tranquillas, chief secretary of Emperor Hadrian, wrote, "Because the Jews at Rome caused continuous disturbances at the instigation of Chrestus, he expelled them from the City." Chrestus is a variant spelling of Christ. Suetonius refers to a wave of riots that broke out in a large Jewish community in Rome during the year 49 A.D. As a result, the Jews were banished from the city.[source - Proving the historic Jesus by By Harry V. Martin, http://sonic.net/sentinel/naij3.html ].>>>.

And,

<<<"F.F. Bruce ("Christian Origins" pp. 29,30) draws attention to the fact that there are references to a history of the Eastern Mediterranean written by a historian called Thallus about 52 AD. Bruce shows elsewhere ("The New Testament Documents", p. 113) that a scholar named Julius Africanus quoted from Thallus, mocking his description of the darkness at the crucifixion of Jesus as due to the eclipse of the sun. This suggests that Thallus wrote an account of the crucifixion of Jesus which occurred some years before he wrote his history in 52 AD.[source - The Historical Christ, http://www.baptistchapel.net/pages.asp?pageid=20651 on 03/19/2008]>>>.

And,

<<<"Tacitus was a Roman historian writing early in the 2nd century A.D. His Annals provide us with a single reference to Jesus of considerable value. Rather frustratingly, much of his work has been lost, including a work which covers the years 29-32, where the trial of Jesus would have been had he recorded it. [Meie.MarJ, 89]

Here is a full quote of the cite of our concern, from Annals 15.44. Jesus and the Christians are mentioned in an account of how the Emperor Nero went after Christians in order to draw attention away from himself after Rome's fire of 64 AD:

But not all the relief that could come from man, not all the bounties that the prince could bestow, nor all the atonements which could be presented to the gods, availed to relieve Nero from the infamy of being believed to have ordered the conflagration, the fire of Rome. Hence to suppress the rumor, he falsely charged with the guilt, and punished Christians, who were hated for their enormities. Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius: but the pernicious superstition, repressed for a time broke out again, not only through Judea, where the mischief originated, but through the city of Rome also, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their center and become popular. Accordingly, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty; then, upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not so much of the crime of firing the city, as of hatred against mankind

And,

<<<"On the eve of Passover Jesus was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, "He is going forth to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Anyone who can say anything in his favor let him come forward and plead on his behalf." But since nothing was brought forward in his favor, he was hanged on the eve of Passover. Ulla retorted: Do you suppose he was one for whom a defense could be made? Was he not a mesith (enticer), concerning whom Scripture says, "Neither shall thou spare nor shall thou conceal him?" With Jesus, however, it was different, for he was connected with the government. And,

<<<"[And first century slanders of Jesus (Yeshua) prove he existed] ""... Scholars have debated at length how Jesus came to have this name (i.e., ben Pandira) attached to his. Strauss thought it was from the Greek word pentheros, meaning 'son-in-law.' Klausner and Bruce accept the position that panthera is a corruption of the Greek parthenos meaning 'virgin.' Klausner says, 'The Jews constantly heard that the Christians (the majority of whom spoke Greek from the earliest times) called Jesus by the name "Son of the Virgin"... and so, in mockery, they called him Ben ha-Pantera, i.e., "son of the leopard."'... The theory most sensational but least accepted by serious scholars was dramatized by the discovery of a first century tombstone at Bingerbruck, Germany. The inscription read, 'Tiberius Julius Abdes Pantera, an archer, native of Sidon, Phoenicia, who in 9 c.e. was transferred to service in Germany.'... This discovery fueled the fire of the theory that Jesus was the illegitimate son of Mary and the soldier, Panthera. Even Origen writes that his opponent, Celsus, in circa A.D. 178, said that he heard from a Jew that 'Miriam' had become pregnant by 'Pantheras,' a Roman soldier; was divorced by her husband, and bore Jesus in secret." And,

<<<"Celsus, a late second-century critic of Christianity, accused Jesus of being a bastard child and a sorcerer.[67] He is quoted as saying that Jesus was a "mere man".[68]

The Acts of Pilate is purportedly an official document from Pilate reporting events in Judea to the Emperor Tiberius (thus, it would have been among the commentaii principis). It was mentioned by Justin Martyr, in his First Apology (c. 150) to Antoninus Pius, Marcus Aurelius, and Lucius Verus, who said that his claims concerning Jesus' crucifixion, and some miracles, could be verified by referencing the official record, the "Acts of Pontius Pilate".[69] With the exception of Tertullian, no other writer is known to have mentioned the work, and Tertullian's reference says that Tiberius debated the details of Jesus' life before the Roman Senate, an event that is almost universally considered absurd.[70] There is a later apocryphal text, undoubtedly fanciful, by the same name, and though it is generally thought to have been inspired by Justin's reference (and thus to post-date his Apology), it is possible that Justin actually mentioned this text, though that would give the work an unusually early date and therefore is not a straightforward identification.[71]" [source - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicity_of_Jesus on 03/19/2008]>>>.

And,

<<<"[Pliny the Younger (c. 62 - c.113 AD) was the Roman Governor of Bithynia (present-day northwestern Turkey). Around 111 or 112 AD, he wrote the following letter to Emperor Trajan of Rome asking for advice on how to deal with Christians. - quite a letter preserved from antiquity, and this is only one of ten .]

It is a rule, Sir, which I inviolably observe, to refer myself to you in all my doubts; for who is more capable of guiding my uncertainty or informing my ignorance? Having never been present at any trials of the Christians, I am unacquainted with the method and limits to be observed either in examining or punishing them. Whether any difference is to be allowed between the youngest and the adult; whether repentance admits to a pardon, or if a man has been once a Christian it avails him nothing to recant; whether the mere profession of Christianity, albeit without crimes, or only the crimes associated therewith are punishable -- in all these points I am greatly doubtful.

In the meanwhile,
the method I have observed towards those who have denounced to me as Christians is this: I interrogated them whether they were Christians; if they confessed it I repeated the question twice again, adding the threat of capital punishment; if they still persevered, I ordered them to be executed. For whatever the nature of their creed might be, I could at least feel not doubt that contumacy and inflexible obstinacy deserved chastisement. There were others also possessed with the same infatuation, but being citizens of Rome, I directed them to be carried thither.

These accusations spread (as is usually the case) from the mere fact of the matter being investigated and several forms of the mischief came to light. A placard was put up, without any signature, accusing a large number of persons by name. Those who denied they were, or had ever been, Christians, who repeated after me an invocation to the gods, and offered adoration, with wine and frankincense, to your image, which I had ordered to be brought for that purpose, together with those of the gods, and who finally cursed Christ -- none of which acts, it is into performing -- these I thought it proper to discharge. Others who were named by that informer at first confessed themselves Christians, and then denied it; true, they had been of that persuasion but they had quitted it, some three years, others many years, and a few as much as twenty-five years ago. They all worshipped your statue and the images of the gods, and cursed Christ.

They affirmed, however, the whole of their guilt, or their error, was, that they were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft, or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food -- but food of an ordinary and innocent kind. Even this practice, however, they had abandoned after the publication of my edict, by which, according to your orders, I had forbidden political associations. I judged it so much the more necessary to extract the real truth, with the assistance of torture, from two female slaves, who were styled deaconesses: but I could discover nothing more than depraved and excessive superstition.

I therefore adjourned the proceedings, and betook myself at once to your counsel. For the matter seemed to me well worth referring to you, especially considering the numbers endangered. Persons of all ranks and ages, and of both sexes are, and will be, involved in the prosecution. For this contagious superstition is not confined to the cities only, but has spread through the villages and rural districts; it seems possible, however, to check and cure it." And,

<<<"Pliny the Younger, the provincial governor of Pontus and Bithynia, wrote to Emperor Trajan c. 112 concerning how to deal with Christians, who refused to worship the emperor, and instead worshiped "Christus".

Those who denied that they were or had been Christians, when they invoked the gods in words dictated by me, offered prayer with incense and wine to your image, which I had ordered to be brought for this purpose together with statues of the gods, and moreover cursed Christ - none of which those who are really Christians, it is said, can be forced to do - these I thought should be discharged. Others named by the informer declared that they were Christians, but then denied it, asserting that they had been but had ceased to be, some three years before, others many years, some as much as twenty-five years. They all worshipped your image and the statues of the gods, and cursed Christ.

They asserted, however, that the sum and substance of their fault or error had been that they were accustomed to meet on a fixed day before dawn and sing responsively a hymn to Christ as to a god, and to bind themselves by oath, not to some crime, but not to commit fraud, theft, or adultery, not falsify their trust, nor to refuse to return a trust when called upon to do so. When this was over, it was their custom to depart and to assemble again to partake of food-but ordinary and innocent food. Even this, they affirmed, they had ceased to do after my edict by which, in accordance with your instructions, I had forbidden political associations." And,

<<<"[The ancient Roman historian Suetonius, he was court official under the Roman Emperor Hadrian,

made two interesting historical notes about the followers of Jesus Christ ] "Suetonius provides more insight into how and why "Chrestus" would cause such disturbances among the Jews in Rome when he tells of Nero's campaign of persecution against the Christians, launched in A.D. 64. (Scholars believe this was the persecution that claimed, among others, Peter and Paul - both believed to have died in Rome). Suetonius describes these "Christians" as a "class of men given to a new and mischevious superstition."

And,

<<<"There are passages relevant to Christianity in the works of four major non-Christian writers of the late 1st and early 2nd centuries - Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius, and Pliny the Younger. However, these are generally references to early Christians rather than a historical Jesus. Of the four, Josephus' writings, which document John the Baptist, James the Just, and possibly also Jesus, are of the most interest to scholars dealing with the historicity of Jesus (see below). Tacitus, in his Annals written c. 115, mentions popular opinion about Christus, without historical details (see also: Tacitus on Jesus). There is an obscure reference to a Jewish leader called "Chrestus" in Suetonius. Pliny condemned Christians as easily-led fools." And,

<<<"The Talmud Sanhedrin 43a, which dates to the earliest period of composition (Tannaitic period) contains the following:

On the eve of the Passover, Yeshu was hanged. Forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried: "He is going forth to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Any one who can say anything in his favour, let him come forward and plead on his behalf." But since nothing was brought forward in his favour he was hanged on the eve of the Passover.[72] [source - From The Babylonian Talmud, translated I. And,

<<<"Michael Grant stated (in 1977) that the view is derived from a lack of application of historical methods:

...if we apply to the New Testament, as we should, the same sort of criteria as we should apply to other ancient writings containing historical material, we can no more reject Jesus' existence than we can reject the existence of a mass of pagan personages whose reality as historical figures is never questioned. ... To sum up, modern critical methods fail to support the Christ myth theory. It has 'again and again been answered and annihilated by first rank scholars.' In recent years, 'no serious scholar has ventured to postulate the non historicity of Jesus' or at any rate very few, and they have not succeeded in disposing of the much stronger, indeed very abundant, evidence to the contrary." And,

<<<" In The Historical Figure of Jesus, E.P. Sanders used Alexander the Great as a paradigm-the available sources tell us much about Alexander's deeds, but nothing about his thoughts. "The sources for Jesus are better, however, than those that deal with Alexander" and "the superiority of evidence for Jesus is seen when we ask what he thought."[74] Thus, Sanders considers the quest for the Historical Jesus to be much closer to a search for historical details on Alexander than to those historical figures with adequate documentation.

Consequently, scholars like Sanders, Geza Vermes, John P. Meier, David Flusser, James H. Charlesworth, Raymond E. Brown, Paula Fredriksen and John Dominic Crossan argue that, although many readers are accustomed to thinking of Jesus solely as a theological figure whose existence is a matter only of religious debate, the four canonical Gospel accounts are based on source documents written within decades of Jesus' lifetime, and therefore provide a basis for the study of the "historical" Jesus. These historians also draw on other historical sources and archaeological evidence to reconstruct the life of Jesus in his historical and cultural context." And,

<<<" Lucian, a second century Romano-Syrian satirist, who wrote in Greek, wrote:

The Christians, you know, worship a man to this day - the distinguished personage who introduced their novel rites, and was crucified on that account... You see, these misguided creatures start with the general conviction that they are immortal for all time, which explains the contempt of death and voluntary self-devotion which are so common among them; and
then it was impressed on them by their original lawgiver that they are all brothers, from the moment that they are converted, and deny the gods of Greece, and worship the crucified sage, and live after his laws.[66]" [source - Lucian, The Death of Peregrine, 11-13 in The Works of Lucian of Samosata, translated by H. And,

<<<" Thallus, of whom very little is known, wrote a history from the Trojan War to, according to Eusebius, 109 AD. No work of Thallus survives. There is one reference to Thallus having written about events beyond 109 AD. Julius Africanus, writing c. 221, while writing about the crucifixion of Jesus, mentioned Thallus. Thus:

On the whole world there pressed a most fearful darkness; and the rocks were rent by an earthquake, and many places in Judea and other districts were thrown down. This darkness Thallus, in his third book of History, calls (as appears to me without reason) an eclipse of the sun.[65]" [source - Julius Africanus, Extant Writings XVIII in Ante-Nicene Fathers, ed. And,

<<<" Tacitus (c. 56-c. 117), writing c. 116, included in his Annals a mention of Christianity and "Christus", the Latinized Greek translation of the Hebrew word "Messiah". In describing Nero's persecution of Christians following the Great Fire of Rome c. 64, he wrote:

Nero fastened the guilt of starting the blaze and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius 14-37 at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular.[53]

R. E. Van Voorst noted the improbability that later Christians would have interpolated "such disparaging remarks about Christianity".[54] For this reason the authenticity of the passage is rarely doubted, but there is disagreement about what it proves. It has been controversially speculated that Tacitus may have used one of Pilate's reports to the emperor as the source for his statement that "Christus" had been crucified by Pilate.[55] Biblical scholar Bart D. Ehrman wrote that: "Tacitus's report confirms what we know from other sources, that Jesus was executed by order of the Roman governor of Judea, Pontius Pilate, sometime during Tiberius's reign."[56] Others would say it tells us only what the Christians in the year 116 believed, and is not therefore an independent confirmation of the Gospel reports. For example, historian Richard Carrier writes "it is inconceivable that there were any records of Jesus for Tacitus to consult in Rome (for many reasons, not the least of which being that Rome's capitol had burned to the ground more than once in the interim), and even less conceivable that he would have dug through them even if they existed ... It would simply be too easy to just ask a Christian--or a colleague who had done so ... there can be no doubt that what Pliny discovered from Christians he had interrogated was passed on to Tacitus."[57]" [sources - ^ Tacitus, Annals 15.44 (Latin, English and also here) ^ Robert E. CONCLUSION AND ADDITIONAL REFERENCES:

As can be readily seen, it is totally unreasonable to assert that Jesus (Yeshua) Christ is not a genuine historic figure as do some unreasonable ones. And to reiterate what was said in the introduction,

<<<"Interestingly, the first type of records comes from what are known commonly as "hostile" sources-writers who mentioned Jesus in a negative light or derogatory fashion. Such penmen certainly were not predisposed to further the cause of Christ or otherwise to add credence to His existence. In fact, quite the opposite is true. They rejected His teachings and often reviled Him as well. Thus, one can appeal to them without the charge of built-in bias. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  25  For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.  1 Peter 2:24 – 25,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

And Jesus (Yeshua) shows at Luke 15:6 – 10, [AV] by example the joy experienced by getting one sinner to return to righteousness, “And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.  7  I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.  8  Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?  9  And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.  10  Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”  This is also emphasized at Luke 15:7, [AV] “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”

[2]    WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

The Bible is quite clear with respect the culmination of the last days, and what will transpire. Also, it is clear that we must bring our lives in harmony with Almighty God’s (YHWH’s) requirements if we are to survive into the new system of things prayed for at Matthew 6:9 – 10, “) “You must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.” [New World Translation Revised: NWRT]

The Apostle Peter made what is required for us to win his approval and what things would come to pass in the last days. He mentioned ridicule's would come who would not believe, and he likened it to the days of Noah, and how that world came to a destruction by a great flood. And mentioned how this world would be destroyed by firs symbolizing a complete destruction of the present wicked system we now live in. This in no way refers to a literal destruction of the earth, but a total destruction of all wickedness and not just a cleansing of it as occurred in the days of Noah. Now let’s look at
2 Peter 3:1 – 10, for a detailed account of this reality, “Beloved ones, this is now the second letter I am writing you in which, as in my first one, I am stirring up your clear thinking faculties by way of a reminder, 2that you should remember the sayings previously spoken by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles. 3First of all know this, that in the last days ridiculers will come with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation’s beginning.” For they deliberately ignore this fact, that long ago there were heavens and an earth standing firmly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6and that by those means the world of that time suffered destruction when it was flooded with water. But by the same word the heavens and the earth that now exist are reserved for fire and are being kept until the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly people. However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. 0But Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be exposed.” [New World Translation Revised: NWRT] .

The prophet Ezekiel foretold long ago that the last days would be of great tribulation in prophetic terms, and Almighty God (YHWH) shall make himself known to the disobedient nations in a mighty way. He will use his Son, Jesus (Yeshua) as the leader of an angelic army. This prophecy is as follows, Ezekiel 38:21 – 23, ‘I will call for a sword against him on all my mountains,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. ‘Every man’s sword will be against his own brother. 22I will bring my judgment against him with pestilence and bloodshed; and I will rain down a torrential downpour and hailstones and fire and sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many peoples with him. 23And I will certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah.’

Almighty God (YHWH) has in the past proved himself a mighty warrier for his chosen people who at the time were the Israelites, but now his chosen people are only those believing in him and doing his will. Some of his past warrier acts are recorded at, Joshua 10:10 - 14, “Jehovah threw them into confusion before Israel, and they inflicted a great slaughter on them at Gib?e·on, pursuing them by way of the ascent of Beth-ho?ron and striking them down as far as A·ze?kah and Mak·ke?dah. 11While they were fleeing from Israel and were on the descent of Beth-ho?ron, Jehovah hurled great hailstones from the sky on them as far as A·ze?kah, and they perished. In fact, more died from the hail than from the sword of the Israelites. 12It was then, on the day that Jehovah routed the Am?or·ites before the eyes of the Israelites, that Joshua said to Jehovah before Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gib?e·on, And moon, over the Valley of Ai?ja·lon!” 13So the sun stood still and the moon did not move until the nation could take vengeance on its enemies. Is it not written in the book of Ja?shar? The sun stood still in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to set for about a whole day. 14There has never been a day like that one, either before it or after it, when Jehovah listened to the voice of a man, for Jehovah was fighting for Israel. [New World Translation Revised: NWRT] .

Yes, His faithful followers will undergo tribulation at the hands of others. The Apostle John wrote under inspiration the following at John 16:33, “(John 16:33) I have said these things to you so that by means of me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage! I have conquered the world.” [New World Translation Revised: NWRT] , and John recorded what Jesus (Yeshua) said with respect how the world would hate his followers at this time at John 15:18 – 20, “(John 15:18-20) If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you. 20 Keep in mind the word I said to you: A slave is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have observed my word, they will also observe yours.” [New World Translation Revised: NWRT]

The Apostle Paul said this of Almighty God’s (YHWH) righteous judgment at 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, “ This is a proof of the righteous judgment of God, leading to your being counted worthy of the Kingdom of God, for which you are indeed suffering. 6This takes into account that it is righteous on God’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for you. 7But you who suffer tribulation will be given relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance on those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. 9These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength, 10at the time when he comes to be glorified in connection with his holy ones and to be regarded in that day with wonder among all those who exercised faith, because the witness we gave met with faith among you.” [New World Translation Revised: NWRT] .

Yes, as revealed by the Apostle John the following, John 5:28-30, “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. 30I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me.” [New World Translation Revised: NWRT] .

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   INFORMATION ON BIBLE TRANSLATION OF JOHN 8:58:

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 871A]

My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
3  Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.   Deuteronomy 32:2,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

And this is further clarified by Hosea 14:4 – 7, [AV] “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.  5  I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.  6  His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.  7  They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.”

[2]  INFORMATION ON BIBLE TRANSLATION OF JOHN 8:58:

John 8:58, according to the King James Version, says: "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." But the New World Translation states: "Jesus said to them: 'Most truly I say to you, Before Abraham came into existence, I have been.'" Why does the New World Translation use "I have been" instead of "I am"?-R. B., United States. The Greek verb there used, eimi', is literally in the present tense, but in view of its being preceded by the aorist infinitive clause which refers to Abraham's past, the Greek verb eimi' must be viewed as a historical present. Regarding the historical present Hadley and Allen's Greek Grammar says, in section 828: HISTORICAL PRESENT.-In vivid narration, a past event is often thought of and expressed as present: . . . The present in this use is freely interchanged with the past tenses . . . " Says A. T. Robertson's A Grammar of the Greek New Testament in the Light of Historical Research, under "The Historical Present," pages 866-869: "This vivid idiom is popular in all languages, particularly in the vernacular. . . . it is much more frequent in Greek than in English and is a survival of 'the original stock of our languages.' 'It antedates the differentiation into imperfect and aorist.' . . . It is common enough in the LXX [Septuagint], . . . Hawkins finds the historical present in the LXX 337 times. Josephus uses it also. The New Testament examples are thus 'dramatic.' The historical present is not always aoristic. It may be durative like the imperfect. . . . Hawkins . . . finds 93 historic presents in Matthew (15 of them in Parables), but 162 in John and 151 in Mark. It is rare in the rest of the New Testament. It is most frequent in Mark, John, Matthew and in this order. . . ." If you will examine the New World Translation you will find that except for the final book of The Revelation the historical present is not rendered as such in the translation, but if the context calls for it the historical present is rendered in the past. For examples of where the Greek mixes the historical present with past tenses, we refer you to John 1:29-42, also John chapter 20, as shown in the King James Version. Note also Mark 1:12, 13. Even the King James Version renders some historical Greek presents as English past tenses; for instance, Matthew 3:1. That a historical present in the Greek in the midst of a context of the past tense is properly rendered in English as a past tense is recognized by the best of modern Bible translators. Dr. James Moffatt was on the Revised Standard Version Bible Committee, and note how he translates John 8:58 in his own version: "'Truly, truly I tell you,' said Jesus, 'I have existed before Abraham was born.'" Professor E. J. Goodspeed was a member of the American Standard Bible Committee, and his translation renders John 8:58 as follows: "Jesus said to them, 'I tell you, I existed before Abraham was born!'" Note other translations: Chas. Williams' The New Testament: "Then Jesus said to them, 'I most solemnly say to you, I existed before Abraham was born.'" A. S. Lewis' "The Four Gospels" According to the Sinaitic Palimpsest: "He said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I have been." The Twentieth Century New Testament: "'Believe me,' Jesus replied, 'before Abraham was born I was already what I am.'" G. M. Lamsa's The Modern New Testament: "Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham was born, I was." Jas. Murdock's The Syriac New Testament: "Jesus said to them: Verily, verily, I say to you, That before Abraham existed, I was." F. Pfaefflin's Das Neue Testament (German): "Jesus: 'Before there was an Abraham, I was already there [war ich schon da]!'" C. Stage's Das Neue Testament (German): "Jesus said to them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you: Before Abraham was born, I was [war ich].'" Nácar Colunga's Nuevo Testamento (Spanish): "Jesus answered: 'In truth, in truth, I say to you: Before Abraham was born, I was [era yo].'" F. Delitzsch's Hebrew New Testament and that by Salkinson-Ginsburg both have the verb in the perfect form "I have been" (haiithi) instead of in the imperfect form. From the above it is to be seen that the New World Translation is consistent with itself in rendering the historical present by rendering John 8:58 "I have been" instead of "I am." Since Jesus was here referring to an existence from before Abraham and continuing down till he spoke, the New World Translation rendered ego' eimi' as "I have been" instead of "I was." When any clerical critic tries to claim inaccuracy for the New World Translation at John 8:58, then he is indicting not only it but also all these other scholars, English and foreign language, of inaccuracy. He is entitled to take and accept the version that he prefers because of bias toward a religious doctrine, in this case the trinity, but yet it should be recognized that the New World Translation has plenty of support by acknowledged, widely known translators for its rendering at John 8:58.

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   THE RARE FRUIT OR VEGETABLE, Artocarpus sericarpus

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 872A]

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.  James 5:7,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Even his apostles wanted to know when these events would occur, but jesus (Yeshua0 said onto them at Matthew 24:2 – 3, [AV] “And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.  3  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”  and showed how patience would be necessary as even he did NOT know when this would occur, but only his Father, Almighty God (YHWH) in heaven knew as recorded at Matthew 24:36, [AV] “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

[2]   Here is a Commentary on Bountiful Trees and Vegetables God (YHWH) has provided for mankind, specifically the, Artocarpus sericarpus, the pedalai, gumihan or terap bulu, is a tropical evergreen tree species of the family Moraceae.[1][2] It is the cousin of jackfruit and breadfruit.
The tree originates from northern Borneo (Sarawak), Malaysia (Sabah),[3] the Philippines and Indonesia (Maluku Islands, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and is most commonly found in humid tropics with a mild monsoon climate, occurring in tropical evergreen forests at 500–1,000 m elevation. It is also occasionally found in steep, clayey hillsides of inland areas.[4] The discovery date is not clear as it is listed as 1959[5] in one book and 1961 in the other.[2]
It is a very large rainforest tree to 120 ft. Similar to the marang fruit (Artocarpus odoratissimus), the pulp of the fruit is edible and considered very tasty but A. sericicarpus does not have strong odor of the marang. The seeds are also edible, people normally boil or roast them and consume them like peanuts. A. sericicarpus measures up to 30–40 m, stipule are lanceolate and measure at 6–12 cm and its dark green leaves are elliptic and ovate and measure at 20–70 cm by 10–50 cm. The tree's bark is also used to make barkcloth.[4]
The fruit is hairy, and looks like a giant rambutan. When the globular fruits (15 cm diameter) are ripe, the skins are bright orange, covered with hair. Pulp is white in color and tastes very sweet. Some say the Pedal fruit is the tastiest of all Artocarpus.

A Bornean relative of the jackfruit bearing coconut sized fruits with strange, prominent hairs on their skin. The fruits appearance reminds of a giant rambutan. Pulp is white, said to be of excellent flavor, with no or minimal odor as compared with some of its close relatives. A large rainforest tree, it grows at slight elevations so maybe it has some cool temperature tolerance    like the jackfruit. Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]  INFORMATION ON GENESIS THE 4 TH. CHAPTER:

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 873A]

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:  12  That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.   Hebrews 6:11 – 12,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Sometimes it is necessary for faithful ones and their family to follow through with vows that are painful, but win Almighty God (YHWH) approval.  One such case was Jephtah and his God fearing daughter which was reordered at Judges 11:34 - 39, [AV] “And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter.  35  And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.  36  And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of Ammon.  37  And she said unto her father, Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may go up and down upon the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my fellows.  38  And he said, Go. And he sent her away for two months: and she went with her companions, and bewailed her virginity upon the mountains.  39  And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed: and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,”  And this came about by a vow her father made that if he were given victory over Ammon per Judges 11:30 – 31, [AV] “And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands,  31  Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD’S, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.”

[2]   INFORMATION ON GENESIS THE 4 TH. CHAPTER:

In this chapter we have both the world and the church in a family, in a little family, in Adam’s family, and a specimen given of the character and state of both in after-ages, nay, in all ages, to the end of time. As all mankind were represented in Adam, so that great distinction of mankind into saints and sinners, godly and wicked, the children of God and the children of the wicked one, was here represented in Cain and Abel, and an early instance is given of the enmity which was lately put between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent

“And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.” (Genesis 4:1 AV)

This shows that man’s nature and the estate of marriage and God’s (YHWH’s) were not eliminater through sin, but he condition or quality of it was changed.  Thus per the Lord’s promise, “ And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:” (Genesis 5:4 AV), and here in Genesis 4:1 we find EVE  rejoicing for the son she had given birth to, whom she would offer to the Lord (YHWH) as the first fruits of her birth.  Eve stated, I have gotten a man from the Lord, that is, by the help of the Lord, an expression of gratitude.  She called his name Cain, which means, “a possession,” as if valued above everything else.

“And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.” (Genesis 4:2 AV).

Abel was literally, "a feeder of a flock," which, in Oriental countries, always includes goats as well as sheep. Abel, though the younger, is mentioned first, probably on account of the pre-eminence of his religious character.

“And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.” (Genesis 4:3 AV)

In process of time--Hebrew, "at the end of days," probably on the Sabbath.  brought . . . an offering unto the Lord--Both manifested, by the very act of offering, their faith in the being of God (YHWH)  and in His claims to their reverence and worship; and had the kind of offering been left to themselves, what more natural than that the one should bring, “And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: (Genesis 4:1-4 AV). This declares that the father instructed his children in the knowledge of God, and also how God gave them sacrifices to signify their salvation, though they were destitute of the ordinance of the tree of life.

Introduction Leviticus 10:1-2
“And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.

The sons of Aaron.--If this incident occurred at the solemn period of the consecrating and dedicating the altar, these young men assumed an office which had been committed to Moses; or if it were some time after, it was an encroachment on duties which devolved on their father alone as the high priest. But the offense was of a far more aggravated nature than such a mere informality would imply. It consisted not only in their venturing unauthorized to perform the incense service--the highest and most solemn of the priestly offices--not only in their engaging together in a work which was the duty only of one, but in their presuming to intrude into the holy of holies, to which access was denied to all but the high priest alone. In this respect, "they offered strange fire before the Lord"; they were guilty of a presumptuous and unwarranted intrusion into a sacred office which did not belong to them. But their offense was more aggravated still; for instead of taking the fire which was put into their censers from the brazen altar, they seem to have been content with common fire and thus perpetrated an act which, considering the descent of the miraculous fire they had so recently witnessed and the solemn obligation under which they were laid to make use of that which was specially appropriated to the service of the altars, they betrayed a carelessness, an irreverence, a want of faith, most surprising and lamentable. A precedent of such evil tendency was dangerous, and it was imperatively necessary, therefore, as well for the priests themselves as for the sacred things, that a marked expression of the divine displeasure should be given for doing that which "God commanded them not."

“And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.” (Leviticus 10:2 AV).

There went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them--rather, "killed them"; for it appears that neither their bodies nor their robes were consumed “ So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.” (Leviticus 10:5 AV).  The expression, "from the Lord," indicates that this fire issued from the most holy place. In the destruction of these two young priests by the infliction of an awful judgment, the wisdom of God observed the same course, in repressing the first instance of contempt for sacred things, as he did at the commencement of the Christian dispensation, “But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2  And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.  3  But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?  4  Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.  5  And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.  6  And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.  7  And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.  8  And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.  9  Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.  10  Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.  11  And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.” (Acts 5:1-11 AV).

And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? 7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible. Malachi 1:6 – 8, [authorized King James Bible; AV] Yes, they were polluting his alter by offering up animals with major malfunctions as recorded at Malachi 1:8 – 10, [authorized King James Bible; AV] “And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts. 9 And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts. 10 Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.” And Malachi 1:12 – 14, [AV] “But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible. 13 Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD. 14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.” TO LEARN MORE ABOUT RELIGION AND THE BIBLE, GO TO,  1) WWW.JW.ORG 2) http://religioustruths.lefora.com/  3) http://religioustruths.boardhost.com/  4) http://religioustruths.forumsland.com/  5) http://religioustruthsbyiris.createmybb3.com/  6) http://religioustruths.forumotion.com/  To enjoy an online Bible study called “Follow the Christ” go to,http://www.network54.com/Forum/403209/thread/1417398076/last-1417398076/Digital+Book+On+18+Part+Follow+Christ+Bible+Study  Your Friend in Christ Iris89  Francis David said it long ago, "Neither the sword of popes...nor the image of death will halt the march of truth. At best, interpretation is inevitably implicit in the task; for no man can be completely objective, nor can any tongue completely render the sense of another. . . .many [translators of the past] were guided in their rendering mainly by theological tenets [our comment: such as the "Trinity" doctrine]." Their previous knowledgeled them to the true explanation. At the present day, the readers of Scriptures have generally imbibed certain religious notions from education before they sit down to the task; and then, unconsciously, perhaps, but very naturally, they explain every difficulty in accordance with those notions. Hence it happens that men of every persuasion find the confirmation of their peculiar opinions in the sacred volumes: for, in fact, it is not the Scripture that informs them, but they that affix their own meaning to the language of Scripture." From: Lingard, John (b.?-d.?). All the metaphors, and similitudes, and allegories ofScripture are easily applied to their purpose; and if any word sound like the tinkling of their own fancies, it is no less than a demonstration that that is the meaning of the Spirit of God; and every little shadow and appearance doth mightily confirm them in their preconceived opinions." From: Sherlock, William (b.1641?-d.1707), D.D., Father of Bishop Sherlock, and Dean of St. Paul's. COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]    INTERESTING ITEMS ON ALMIGHTY GOD (YHWH)

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 875A]

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Genesis 1:27,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Almighty God (YHWH) intended for one man and one women to create a family unit as highlighted by Matthew 19:4 - 9, [AV] “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,  5  And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?  6  Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.  7  They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?  8  He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.  9  And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery”

[2]   INTERESTING ITEMS ON ALMIGHTY GOD (YHWH)

Now those who became apostates are these, Arius, Achilles, Aeithales, Carpones, another Arius, and Sarmates, sometime Presbyters: Euzoius, Lucius, Julius, Menas, Helladius, and Gaius, sometime Deacons: and with them Secundus and Theonas, sometime called Bishops. And the novelties they have invented and put forth contrary to the Scriptures are these following: -God was not always a Father, but there was a time when God was not a Father. The Word of God was not always, but originated from things that were not; for God that is, has made him that was not, of that which was not; wherefore there was a time when He was not; for the Son is a creature and a work. Neither is He like in essence to the Father; neither is He the true and natural Word of the Father; neither is He His true Wisdom; but He is one of the things made and created, and is called the Word and Wisdom by an abuse of terms, since He Himself originated by the proper Word of God, and by the Wisdom that is in God, by which God has made not only all other things but Him also. Wherefore He is by nature subject to change and variation as are all rational creatures. And the Word is foreign from the essence of the Father, and is alien and separated there from. And the Father cannot be described by the Son, for the Word does not know the Father perfectly and accurately, neither can He see Him perfectly. Moreover, the Son knows not His own essence as it really is; for He is made for us, that God might create us by Him, as by an instrument; and He would not have existed, had not God wished to create us. Accordingly, when some one asked them, whether the Word of God can possibly change as the devil changed, they were not afraid to say that He can; for being something made and created, His nature is subject to change. (S. Alexander's Deposition of Arius and His Companions, and Encyclical Letter on the Subject. Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, Series II, Vol. IV ).

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   TRUTH MAY NOT CONFORM TO OUR WAY OF THINKING

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 876A]

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.  22  And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.  Genesis 1:21 – 22,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

This act of creation is emphasized at Genesis 2:7, [AV] “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”   But, man drifted away from Almighty God’s (YHWH’s) purpose for mankind as recorded at Isaiah 64:6 – 12, [AV] “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.  7  And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.  8  But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.  9  Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.  10  Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.  11  Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.  12  Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?”

[2]   TRUTH MAY NOT CONFORM TO OUR WAY OF THINKING

It is a little arrogant to assume that something is contradictory
simply because it does not conform to our way thinking and writing,
one which is thousands of years removed from the source. There are
difficulties which arise in reading authors where everything is
depicted and illustrated with the greatest variety and abundance of
imagery; they must be still more numerous in such of the ancient and
foreign poets, and in the Orientals above all others; as they are
the farthest from our customs and manners.
Imagine someone thousands of years from now digging up a book and
reading "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" only
to conclude the work was substandard because it is "contradictory."
An instance of a different viewpoint is when one points out that one
Scripture mentions something being done by Person A, whilst another
mentions it being done by Person B. This is best understood when we
grasp the Schaliach Principle, or the Jewish Law of Agency, which is
expressed in the dictum, "A person's agent is regarded as the person
himself." Therefore any act committed by a duly appointed agent is
regarded as having been committed by the principle." The
Encyclopedia of the Jewish Religion, R.J.Z. Werblowski and Geoffrey
Wigoder
Buchanan adds "a man's agent is like the man himself, not
physically, but legally. He has the power of attorney for the one
who sent him"
Understanding this law of agency will actually brighten our
understanding of many key texts, such as why the Judges and angels
were called "God" (Ex. 21:6; 22:8; Ps. 8:5; 82:1). Many more
instances could be provided, but brevity is in order here.
Scribal omissions and the degenerative quality of ancient
manuscripts abound also, as mentioned in Crow's submission of a
contradiction between whether David killed Goliath (1 Sa. 17:50) or
Elhanan did (2 Sa. 21:19). 1 Chr. 20:5 naturally has the fuller and
more correct reading of "the brother of Goliath," a reading that has
been restored in the NKJV based on internal evidence, evidence that
should not be ignored when reconstructing a damaged or corrupted
text.
As far as the creative days, and the "there was evening and there
was morning" as mentioned by Professor Crow, an understanding of the
Hebrew further clears things us the "days" mentioned are anarthrous
[lacking the article], and thereby creating a poetic sequential
device [Gleason Archer]. I think the best way to put this so that
the modern and Western mind could grasp was introduced in Ferrar
Fenton's translation of the Hebrew Genesis where Genesis 1:5 is
rendered, "This was the close and the dawn of the first age."
Instead of merely casting aside the Bible as an imperfect book when
it does not coincide with our limited world-view, this Book of Books
invites further investigation, even though it itself admits that not
all will grasp its wisdom.

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   LET’S CLEAR-UP THE CONFUSION ABOUT ALMIGHTY GOD (YHWH) AND JESUS (JESHUA OR YHWH SAVES):    -  PART 1, PART 2 IS 878A]

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 877A]

For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.  20  All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.   Ecclesiastes 3:19 – 20,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Here the prophet is showing the vanity of life when one seeks great power, position and/or wealth, and this is emphasized also at Psalms 39:4 – 6, [AV] “LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.  5  Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.  6  Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.”

[2]    LET’S CLEAR-UP THE CONFUSION ABOUT ALMIGHTY GOD (YHWH) AND JESUS (JESHUA OR YHWH SAVES):    -  PART 1, PART 2 IS 878A]

I see that confusion is obfuscating basic facts with respect Almighty God (YHWH) and his Son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves).  One of the major problems is getting hung-up on minutia with regards definitions instead of thinking about Bible truths.  But I hope I can clear it up for everyone.  Let’s get back to basics and see what the Ten Commandments really say:
“And God spake all these words, saying,
2  I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4  Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6  And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7  Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8  Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9  Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 ¶ Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13  Thou shalt not kill.
14  Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15  Thou shalt not steal.
16  Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.” (Exodus 20:1-17 AV)
And what Jesus (Jeshua or JHVH saves) said about the two greatest commandments:
“Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38  This is the first and great commandment.
39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:36-40 AV)

Now I believe I can clear up the confusion that many individuals have with respect the Son of Almighty God (YHWH) when they ask questions about how many Gods there are, and make statements such as “The Bible clearly says that we are to not have any other gods, only the one true god.”

First, the Bible clearly says, “3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3 AV).  Now note exactly what it is saying, you shall NOT HAVE OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.  In other words, no other god or deity shall be before him or on a standing equal to him.  This is the Bible taught doctrine of monotheism that the Jews held for centuries before Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) came on the scene, even though his coming was prophecied over 500 times in the Old Testament.  When Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) arrived and grew to be a man, he was asked what was the greatest commandment, and answered, “37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (Matthew 22:37 AV).  Now we are ready to deal with the questions, about how many Gods there are, and make statements such as “The Bible clearly says that we are to not have any other gods, only the one true god.”

Second, Both of these statements, “3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3 AV), and , “37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (Matthew 22:37 AV), clearly show there is only one Almighty God (YHWH) and that he demands exclusive devotion and we should love him with all our heart, soul, and mind.  Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) always made this clearly known to all.  He stated, “ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.” (John 14:28 AV), “ Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” (John 5:19 AV), and the Apostles said, “ And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:28 AV), “ But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” (1 Corinthians 11:3 AV) clearly showing he occupied a lessor position, and therefore was NOT A GOD BEFORE HIS FATHER ALMIGHTY GOD (YHWH), so no violation of  “3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3 AV).

He always stated all glory belonged to his Father (YHWH) and what glory he had came from his Father (YHWH):
“ For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.” (Matthew 16:27 AV) – Note, in his Fathers glory not his own.
“They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38  But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
39  And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.” (Mark 10:37-40 AV)—Note, this glory was not his to give but his Father’s (YHWH’s).
“ There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.” (Luke 17:18 AV)
“ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 AV) – Note, in his Fathers glory not his own.
“ He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.” (John 7:18 AV) ) – Note, in his Fathers glory not his own.
“ When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” (John 11:4 AV)  – Note, in his Fathers glory not his own.
“ Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” (John 11:40 AV)   – Note, in his Fathers glory not his own.
“ And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (John 17:5 AV)—Note he is asking his Father (YHWH) to give him back the glory that he had previously given him.
“ And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:” (John 17:22 AV) – Note, in his Fathers glory not his own.
“ Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17:24 AV) – Note, in his Fathers glory not his own.
“ But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,” (Acts 7:55 AV) –Note it says glory of God (YHWH) with his son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) standing on his right, but the Apostle said he was full of the Holy Ghost; therefore the Holy Ghost must be God’s (YHWH’s) active force and not a spirit being as the Apostle was, “being full of the Holy Ghost.”
“ And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.” (Acts 12:23 AV) –Note, this shows what happens when we fail to give glory to Almighty God (YHWH).
“ And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.” (Romans 1:23 AV)
“ He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;” (Romans 4:20 AV)
“ By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:2 AV)
“ Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:4 AV) –Note in whose glory, that of the Father, God Almighty (YHWH).
“ Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7 AV) –Note in whose glory, that of the Father, God Almighty (YHWH).
“ To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. <<Written to the Romans from Corinthus, and sent by Phebe servant of the church at Cenchrea.>>” (Romans 16:27 AV)
“ For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20 AV)

As can be seen from the foregoing all glory belongs to Almighty God (YHWH) and he gives of it to whom he wishes including to his Son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves).  This is clearly made clear by  “ For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” (1 Timothy 2:5 AV), “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 AV), “ He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36 AV), “ But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” (Hebrews 8:6 AV), “ And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9:15 AV), “ And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” (Hebrews 12:24 AV).  Therefore, it can clearly be seen that Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) is the mediator of a new covenant between mankind and Almighty God (YHWH) and there is no other mediator.

Third, Jesus plainly said, “ Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?” (John 10:34 AV)  This is part of scripture where he was being accused of blasphemy because he said he was the Son of Almighty God (YHWH), “Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.
26  But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
30  I and my Father are one.
31  Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32  Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33  The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34  Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36  Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37  If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38  But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.” (John 10:25-38 AV).  Note, he called them gods, “Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;” (John 10:24-35 AV).  So this gets us back to what is the meaning of “3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3 AV).  Clearly in this context any entity at a higher plane
or level can be considered a god which would be the next one up from where you are in the superior/subordinate authority line given in  “ But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” (1 Corinthians 11:3 AV).  So in that sense, the Son of Almighty God (YHWH) would be a god, but definitely not the Almighty God (YHWH).  In fact his name in Hebrew literally means “YHWH saves” clearly showing that his Father ultimately “saves” individuals, but through his son, Jesus (Yeshua or YHWH saves).  Now I believe this clears up the confusion with regard questions like, “how many Gods there are, and make statements such as “The Bible clearly says that we are to not have any other gods, only the one true god.”’

Part 2

Now to cover several other important areas with respect Almighty God (YHWH) being the supreme being and his son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) being an obedient son to him of lessor power, as a serious of questions and answers – using actual questions that have been asked by some individuals to illustrate Bible truths:

Item 1) All these verses that you bring up to prove that Jesus is not the almighty God, I accept. I accept everything that the Bible has to say, not just the parts that say what I want them to. You however deny the meaning of many verses that prove you wrong. How can you only accept parts of the Bible and not all of them.

Ans. You are very confused, I accept the entire Bible, but you seem to have a major problem realizing that Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) is Almighty God’s only begotten Son. Why, I have no idea as the scriptures are quite clear on this fact:

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Acts 13:33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

Hebrews 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Hebrews 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Now just what is your problem in understanding with respect realizing this fact.

Item 2)(We are to trust as little children, why don't you? Why don't you want to accept all of the Bible? Why only the verses that prove YOUR point? If you love God then your point shouldn't matter.

Ans. You should be asking yourself that question not me as it appears you have a problem with accepting the scriptures as clearly pointed out to you in item 1. Now please open your mind and learn what a Father and a Son are:

Note that this special son is not talked about as already existing and taking on a new form as The Trinitarian Doctrine would require it. In fact, how can a son be co-equal and co-existent with his father? The Doctrine of The Trinity defies the universally accepted and historically always held meaning of the words for father and son. Not only does it defy the meaning of these words, it destroys their meaning! This fact is important to realize for God gave us language. It was not invented by man as the evolutionist tries to say. Thus, we are not destroying man made terms, but God-given terms! These terms, as given to us by God, require that the father exists before the son, and for the son to be brought into existence by the father. This universally accepted and recognized definition is what these terms have meant from the beginning of this creation. Therefore, who has given anyone the authority to change these God-given terms now? In fact, The Lord Jesus Christ verifies the meaning of these terms when he says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him." John 13:16 "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I." John 14:28. Here, he establishes that God is his lord, that he was sent by his lord, that God is his Father, and that his Father is greater than he himself. How could any of these declarations be true if the Doctrine of The Trinity is true? It is clearly impossible for these declarations of The Lord Jesus Christ to be true and the Doctrine of The Trinity to be True! It is easy to see that these words of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Doctrine of the Trinity are mutually exclusive and opposing views!

“ And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” (Luke 2:52 AV)

Now note, “ Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;” (Hebrews 5:8 AV), he, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) had to learn obedience by that which he suffered and as he was growing up he “ And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” (Luke 2:52 AV).  So he did not start off with wisdom, but it had to increase as he grewup.  If he was God, then how could such a statement apply? Isn't God omniscient? Isn't this passage teaching us that this special son would have to go through a learning process like every other normal natural human being? Isn't it telling us that he at one time did not know the difference between good and evil? Isn't it teaching us that he would have to learn to refuse the evil and choose the good? The answer to these questions is obviously yes! It doesn't take someone with a doctorate degree to answer them. In fact, the only too obvious answer to all of these questions destroys The Trinitarian concept of this special son.  Furthermore, this conclusion from these passages is verified by what is said about The Lord Jesus Christ in The New Testament. Consider the following passages:

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. Luke 2:40.
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2:52.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matt. 24:36.

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Mark 13:32.

For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. John 5:20.

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. Acts 1:7

The revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John. Rev. 1:1.

At this point, let us briefly look at the implications of the above listed passages. We will take them in the order in which we quoted them.

In Luke 2:40, we have the natural process of growth in any descendant of Adam clearly set out and applied to the Lord Jesus Christ. If the Lord Jesus Christ is God, then how can he be said to increase in strength? Does this mean that he became a weak human child? How can God lose His strength and still be called God? In this weakened state couldn't the God of the Universe have been wiped out? Next, how could Jesus , if he was God, need to increase in spirit? Does this mean God decreased His normal quantity of spirit? If so, then how did He refill Himself with it once again? Again, wouldn't this have exposed the God of the universe to the potential of being destroyed? Now notice that the grace of God was upon him. If he was God, then why was the grace of God upon him? Doesn't this show that God is God and separate from Jesus? How can any other meaning be obtained from this statement? Furthermore, why was God in need of grace? Doesn't it seem strange that He would be extending grace to Himself? In that case, shouldn't the grace be found in and not upon Himself? Also, remember that grace is unmerited divine favor. Was God placing favor that He did not earn upon Himself? Doesn't this reveal how fundamentally wrong The Doctrine of The Trinity is? Now let us proceed to the next passage which will further reveal how wrong this doctrine is.

In Luke 2:52 we are told that "Jesus ... increased in wisdom ... increased in stature ... increased in favour with God and man.

If Jesus is God, how can he increase in wisdom? Did God empty Himself of wisdom and have to be refilled with it all over again? How could He regain this wisdom once He had let go of it? How is it possible for Him to remove His wisdom and still be considered God? Is there such a thing as an unwise God? It would seem to me that to ask such a question is to answer it! Furthermore, it seems to me that He would be exposing Himself to any crafty individual by doing such an obviously absurd thing. It definitely seems that He was opened up to being outsmarted by almost anyone wiser than He at the time. Also, who was maintaining His universe when he was in such a weakened and unwise state? Now notice that he had to increase in favor with God. Does this mean that He had to increase in favor with Himself? How can it be said that he increased in favor with God unless he wasn't God? Obviously, God is viewed as God in this passage and Jesus as separate from and in need of God's favor like every other human being. In fact, these passages are emphasizing how identical to us Jesus was at that time! This fact is

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   LET’S CLEAR-UP THE CONFUSION ABOUT ALMIGHTY GOD (YHWH) AND JESUS (JESHUA OR YHWH SAVES):    -  PART 2

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 878A]

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.   Luke 11:28,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

This reality is made sure at Matthew 7:21 - 29, [AV] “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 3  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.  24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.  28  And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:  29  For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.”

important when we come to look at the atonement and what was accomplished in Jesus' death. We will leave that for a future discussion. Notice, also, that it says Jesus increased in favor with man as well as with God. If Jesus is God, and, therefore, the Creator of man, then, why is it important for him to increase in favor with man who is His creation? None of this makes any sense if The Doctrine of The Trinity is true. If Jesus was really a man and had just come into existence at that time, then all of these passages make perfect sense. If you feel all of this creates insurmountable problems for this doctrine, then wait and see what is coming next!

In Matt. 24:36 and Mark 13:32, we are informed that there is knowledge which no one, man, or angel, or he, Jesus, possesses but only The Father! If Jesus is God, coequal with the Father, then, how is it that he acknowledges that the Father possesses knowledge that he himself, just like other men, does not possess?

How can one part of The Trinity be said to know something that the other part does not know? Isn't this nonsensical to say the least? Notice Jesus puts himself in the same category with the rest of Adam's race with respect to this knowledge. How can he still be God if he knows no more than other men on this subject? Doesn't this show that God is separate and distinct from the son and superior to and not co-equal with him? Obviously, it does!

We now arrive at John 5:20 where we are informed that the Father loves the son. Does this really mean that He is in love with Himself? Isn't this conceit? We are also informed that the Father was educating His son: "and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel." If Jesus is God, then why is it necessary to shew himself all things that he himself is doing? If he is omniscient, then, why does he have to be shown all things?

Doesn't the Doctrine of The Trinity make a farce out of this very beautiful passage of The Father loving and educating His son? Again, doesn't this passage demonstrate that The Father is separate from and superior to the son and not co-equal with him? It seems to me that it does if considered objectively and logically. By the way, being logical is being appealed to for this is the way The Creator made us so that He can reason with us in a very objective and sensible manner.

Notice what He says in Isaiah 1:18, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith Yahweh ...." Also, in Rom. 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable [LOGIKOS, pertaining to the reason, rational, (English, logical) ..." E.W. Bullinger, A CRITICAL LEXICON AND CONCORDANCE TO THE ENGLISH AND GREEK NEW TESTAMENT, page 625.] service." Thus, The Doctrine of The Trinity defies the very fundamental way The Creator has made us. It is a totally illogical and irrational doctrine. It is a doctrine that must be offered without explanation because it can not be logically explained. In addition, Faith involves our capacity to reason logically on the evidence that God has offered to us so that we can be persuaded that He exists and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) Paul also informs us that we are saved by grace through faith in Ephesians 2:8. Grace is the means and faith is the channel. Thus, logically being persuaded of God's provisions is the channel through which God's grace proceeds! We will now proceed to the next passage.

In Acts 1:7, we are again confronted with a declaration that there is knowledge that is solely in the control of The Father. Remember, this declaration is being made after his resurrection and matches exactly what he had said before. He is no longer checked by mortality. He is immortal and incorruptible. He has been glorified. In spite of these facts, he clearly declares that there are things which are only in the power of the Father! How can this possibly be if he is co-equal with the Father and is the second person of The Trinity?

Item 3) I get everything that you say. I know that the Father was living in the son. Don't forget that he did have to give up glory.  But the bible also says that we are to call no man on earth father right. So, knowing this, the verse that says that Jesus is to be called "everlasting Father" tells us that he must actually be the Father. Why? Well because we are to call any man other than the actual Father in heaven...Father.  Now why would the Bible be telling us to only call God in heaven Father and Jesus on earth Father and still tell us not to call any one but the Father in heaven Father? That just doesn't make sense....unless....Jesus is God. Which he is.

Ans. Let’s see why the Bible can call Jesus “everlasting Father” and in what frame of reference as clearly you lack an adequate understanding of this phrase. Now we understand that The Son is not The Father. So why does it say in Isaiah 9:6 that The Son will be called “Everlasting Father”? Let’s look at some scripture, John 17:22-26 AV, “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” “ Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” (John 14:10 AV); The Father dwells in the Son, so now we know why The Son is “called” Everlasting Father, because the Everlasting Father is in the Son. So the understanding is: If I come to  The Son and say to him “Father”, he will reply, Yes, Son?”. But why is he called the mighty God? The Father is the Almighty God, so if I come to The Son and say to him “mighty God”, he will reply, “Yes, what can I do for you?”. This is because the Almighty God (YHWH) dwells in The Son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves). To sumarize, I will provide some scripture for a further understanding, “ Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; 24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” (Colossians 1:12-29 AV), “ And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20 AV), and this is one of my favorite scriptures that explains that The True God is in The Son, and we are in The True God who is in The Son, try reading the scriptures above where the Father is in The Son and we in The Father and we in The Son. So now the understanding is clear that the Son is not the Almighty God (YHWH), and the Son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves), is not the Everlasting Father. Let the truth be known, “ Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:” (Deuteronomy 6:4 AV), this is Unsullied Monotheism That Does Not Support Unity For Another.

Item 4)Now even without what I just told you. 1 Timothy 3:16 still says that "great is the mystery of godliness, God was manifest in the flesh."   Now what does this mean? Well, it doesn't need to be interpreted, it is in plain english and states that our God was made flesh. God made flesh. hmmm must be Jesus.   There is no arguing with this fact. I do hope you will understand. Just don't expect to understand everything perfectly. God is a bit above us and our puny human minds just can't comprehend him fully. We are to trust like little children. Questioning how God could be is not doing that now is it?

Ans. “ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16 AV)

First to fully understand this scripture which is perhaps one of the least understood in the Bible it is necessary to examine the scripture before it “ But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15 AV), This brings out the need to examine our faith, when a church ceases to be the pillar and ground of truth, we should forsake her; this is so as truth should be first and greatest.

Let’s examine this scripture, 1 Timothy 3:16, by parts.
a) “And evidently great is the mystery of godliness,” This is the mystery of godliness in Christ, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves). Eventually when “ But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,” (Galatians 4:4 AV), “ Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,” (Romans 16:25 AV). His primary purpose for his coming was to provide a ransom for all of mankind “ Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12 AV). Also, Jesus came “ Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28 AV). This delivered the definitive answer to the issue raised by God’s Adversary that he could turn all men against God (YHWH) “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. 7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? 9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.” (Job 1:7-11 AV) and provided the means for redeeming obedient mankind from sin and death through the ransom sacrifice of his Son.

b) “which was manifested in the flesh,” God (YHWH) was pleased to manifest his qualities by having his own son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves), take on the nature of a man, “ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 AV).   When he was on earth in the flesh, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Philipians 2:5-8 AV), remember, “ Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” (1 Corinthians 15:34 AV).

c) “was justified in the spirit,” Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) Christ, after maintaining his faithfulness until death, was “So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” (1 Corinthians 15:42-45 AV), “ For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” (1 Peter 3:18 AV). He was “(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:” (Romans 1:24 AV). Christ was raised again by the Spirit, and so was justified from all the false charges made against him.

d) “appeared unto angels,” Angels ministered to him, for he is the Lord of angels “ Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.” (1 Peter 3:22 AV).  These were made subject to him, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) so he could carry out the assignment given to him by his Father (YHWH), “20 ¶ But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.  21  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.  22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.  23  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.  24  Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  25  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26  The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.  27  For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.  28  And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:20-28 AV).

e) “hath been preached unto the Gentiles,” The Gentiles welcomed the gospel which the Jews rejected, and await “ For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:” (Romans 6:5 AV). We must, “If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; 24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;” (Colossians 1:23-25 AV). God’s (YHWH’s) active force or Holy Ghost was sent to his followers  “ Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.” (1 Peter 1:12 AV).

f) “is believed in the world.” Let us remember that God through his son was manifest in the flesh, to take away our sins, to redeem us from all iniquity, and to purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These doctrines must be shown forth by the fruits of the Spirit in our lives “ Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:” (Colossians 1:6 AV). However, we must be constantly alert because, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;” (2 Peter 2:1-4 AV).

g) “is taken up in glory.” Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) Christ now sits at the right hand of God (YHWH) in Heaven itself “ So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.” (Mark 16:19 AV), “ And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.” (Luke 24:51 AV), “ What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?” (John 6:62 AV), “ Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;” (John 13:3 AV), “ I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.” (John 16:28 AV), “ And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (John 17:5 AV), “ Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:” (Acts 1:2 AV), “ He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)” (Ephesians 4:10 AV), “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (Hebrews 1:2-3 AV), “ Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;” (Hebrews 8:1 AV), “ Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2 AV), “ Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.” (1 Peter 3:22 AV)
As can be seen, you are a little confused with respect your understanding of this scripture as you are with much of the Bible.

Item 5)Who are you and I to say that who he is, is impossible? We have no right. We just don't.

I know that you think that Jesus was some god but not the God. Well, that is breaking a commandment.

Ans. It matters not what you thing or I think, it only matters what the Bible says and for that reason all need to open your mind and get a better understanding.
