[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 953A]

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.  37  Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;  38  Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.  Matthew 9:36 – 37  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Here Jesus (Yeshua) was most concerned with respect s spiritual healing of the people.  He well knew most would reject his spiritual healing message. But as Pslams 72:2 – 7, [AV] revealed, He knew a great judgment was coming in the future and he wanted all of mankind to be saved, “He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.  3  The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.  4  He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.  5  They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.  6  He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.  7  In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.”

[2]    DISCOURSE ON WHAT THE EARLIEST OF CHRISTIANS BELIEVED – SECTION 1 OF 2

To understand what the earliest Christians believed we need to have an accurate understanding of who they were and where they had for the most part came from.  The first Christians came out of Judaism and were strict monotheists.  When they became Christian they maintained their monotheistic ways.  Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) himself was born a Jew, he was trained by his Jewish parents in the Old Testament scriptures.  His teachings were Jewish to the foundation; yes, he preached a new gospel, but he did not preach a new theology.  As proof of this he accepted and quoted continually from the great test of Jewish monotheism, the divinely inspired Hebrew Text that we commonly call the Old Testament, and proclaimed  “ Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:” (Deuteronomy 6:4 AV).  In the grammar of this verse, the word ‘one’ has no plural modifiers to even suggest it applied to anything other than one individual. Tom Harpur states, "As early as the 8th century, the Theologian St. John of Damascus frankly admitted what every modern critical scholar of the NT now realizes: that neither the Doctrine of the Trinity nor that of the 2 natures of Jesus Christ is explicitly set out in scripture. In fact, if you take the record as it is and avoid reading back into it the dogmatic definitions of a later age, you cannot find what is traditionally regarded as orthodox Christianity in the Bible at all." -- For Christ's Sake.  And, The Encyclopedia Americana: "Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching." -- (1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.  And "The belief as so defined was reached only in the 4th and 5th centuries AD and hence is not explicitly and formally a biblical belief. The trinity of persons within the unity of nature is defined in terms of "person" and "nature: which are Gk philosophical terms; actually the terms do not appear in the Bible. The trinitarian definitions arose as the result of long controversies in which these terms and others such as "essense" and "substance" were erroneously applied to God by some theologians." Dictionary of the Bible by John L. McKenzie, S.J. p. 899

PART 2:
During his life, while he was gathering followers, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) never claimed to be God.  Always in everything he said and did he never considered himself as being equal to God in any way, not in power, not in knowledge, and not in age.  In all periods of his existence, both on earth and in Heaven, he always spoke and acted as a subordinate to his Father, Almighty God (YHWH).  He was always the lessor or subordinate one to Almighty God (YHWH).  After his resurrection by his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), he told Mary Magdalene to tell his disciples, ““ Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” (John 20:17 AV).  This clearly showed that the resurrected Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) although now a mighty spirit being was still not Almighty God (YHWH).  As reported by the Apostle John in the last book of the Bible, Revelation, “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6  And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:5-6 AV), “ Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.” (Revelation 3:12 AV).  Also, Paul confirms his relationship to Almighty God (YHWH) “ Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;” (2 Corinthians 1:3 AV).

The Apostle Paul clearly spoke of Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves)  and Almighty God (YHWH)  as distinctly separate individuals “ But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” (1 Corinthians 8:6 AV), and also shows this clear diferentiation when he mentions “ I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.” (1 Timothy 5:21 AV).

Very significantly Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) tole the Jews, “ For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” (John 6:38 AV), then further draws the distinction between himself and Almighty God (YHWH) by saying “ And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.” (Mark 10:18 AV).  Also,  most significant are his words “It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.  18  I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.  19  Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.  20  These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.” (John 8:17-20 AV).  Thus Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) shows that he and his Father, God Almighty (YHWH) must be two distinct individuals as how else could there really be two witnesses?

When Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) started his ministry as he came out of the baptismal water, his Father, God Almighty (YHWH) spoke, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17  And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17 AV).   God Almighty (YHWH) definitely was not saying that he was his own son, and that he approved of himself or sent himself.  Absolutely not, he was saying as the supreme one (superior one) that he was approving a lessor one, his son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves).  Again Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) acknowledged his Father’s superiority when he said, “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” (Luke 4:18 AV).  This was when he, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) was given authority or commission by his superior Almighty God (YHWH) and only a superior can give authority to a lessor one or subordinate.

Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) continued to make his Father’s superiority very clear as shown when the mother of two of his disciples asked that her two sons sit one on the right and one on the life of Jesus when he came into his Kingdom, and Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) told her, “ And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.” (Matthew 20:23 AV).  If Jesus had also been Almighty God (JHWH) those positions would have been his to give, but since he was not, they were not his to give.  In fact Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) own prayers are a clear proof of his subordinate position to Almighty God (YHWH), “And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42  Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke 22:41-42 AV).  Obviously he was praying to someone other than himself and that someone would have to be superior to him as it would require a superior to be able to answer his prayers.

When his death as a human neared, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) cried out, “And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?  35  And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.  36  And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.  37  And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.  38  And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.  39  And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.”  Obviously he was not deserted by himself and surely that cry was not from someone who thought himself to be God, but from one who recognized a superior.  This is clearly shown by “ And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.” (Luke 23:46 AV).  This clearly showed beyond doubt that Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) trusted in a superior one, Almighty God (YHWH) to resurrect him.  After he died, he was dead and in a tomb for parts of three days.  If he were God (YHWH) the Bible would be at odds with itself as “ Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.” (Habakkuk 1:12 AV) would be wrong. Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves), however, was resurrected by God (YHWH) and this is made clear at “ Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.” (Acts 2:24 AV), i.e., the superior, Almighty God (YHWH) did indeed resurrect the lessor one, his son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves).

Now Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) prophecy about the end-times stated, “ But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” (Mark 13:32 AV).  If Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) had been the Almighty God (YHWH) he would have known the exact time for the end-times; however, since he was not, he did not know it.  Likewise, “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9  And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;” (Hebrews 5:8 AV).  Now can we imagine that Almighty God had to learn anything; this is patently ridicules.  Also, God (YHWH) does not have to obey anyone as he is the supreme one whether those deluded in believing in a trinity recognize it or not.

Many misinformed individuals point to “Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.  19  Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.  20  For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.  21  For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.  22  For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:” (John 5:18-22 AV) as support for a Trinity; however, it clearly says that the Jews wanted to kill Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) because he said “God was his Father, “ but who said that he was making himself equal to God (YHWH).  Definitely not Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) as he defended himself against this false accusation “The answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do” in the very next verse, see above.  Thus Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) showed the Jews that he was not equal to God and thus could not act on his own initiative.  Also, “I and my Father are one.  31  Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.  32  Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?  33  The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.  34  Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?  35  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;” (John 10:30-35 AV).  Here Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) was showing the Jews they were one in purpose, but not the same entity as he made clear in what sense he was using the title God, “Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?  35  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;” thus anyone trying to use this scripture to prove a trinity or even a duality is definitely coming to a wrong conclusion.

To gain a better understanding of what Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) meant  by being “one” with the Father (YHWH) “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  22  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.  24 ¶ Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.  25  O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.  26  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:21-26 AV), clearly shows as previously stated they were one in purpose just as Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) is one in purpose with his genuine follower.  As an example let’s consider “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.  7  So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.  8  Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.  9  For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” (1 Corinthians 3:6-9 AV) clearly drives home about how they are ‘one’ just as Apollos and Paul are ‘one.’   They were definitely two different individuals.  It is interesting to note that Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) says “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  22  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one,” he uses the word ‘one’ (Jewish, hen) in these cases, which proves he was speaking of unity of thought and purpose, but not two individuals existing as one entity.

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 954A]

If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.  15  Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.  Job 14:15 – 16 [Authorized King James Bible;AV]

Yes, Almighty God (YHWH) is waiting to resurrect all righteous individuals as shown at Luke 14:14, [AV] “And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.”  Why is he waiting?  He is waiting as He is missing the righteous ones or yearning for them.  And Acts 24:15, [AV] makes this clear, “And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.”

[2]    DISCOURSE ON WHAT THE EARLIEST OF CHRISTIANS BELIEVED – SECTION 2 OF 2

PART 3
Now let’s consider the thoughts of his Apostles and Disciples as the earliest Christians.
The Apostle Paul clearly believed that Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) and Almighty God (YHWH) were two distinct individuals for he wrote, “ For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:” (Hebrews 9:24 AV), and it would clearly be absurd to believe an individual would appear before himself.

Likewise the Apostle Peter believed they were two separate entities and made this clearly known when speaking of the resurrection of Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves), “Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.  32  And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.” (Acts 5:31-32 AV), and Paul also says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11 AV).  If he was also God (YHWH), how could Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) be exalted to a superior position?

Just before being stoned to death, the martyr Stephen (a disciple of Jesus) “But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56  And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.  57  Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, 58  And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.” (Acts 7:55-58 AV).  Obviously Stephen saw two separate individuals in the vision.

The Apostle John clearly believed that they were too separate individuals with Al Mighty God (YHWH) being the superior as shown by “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10  The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.  1 ¶ And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.  2  And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?  3  And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.4  And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.  5  And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.  6 ¶ And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.  7  And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.” (Revelation 4:8-5:7 AV), it is clear here that the individual on the throne is Almighty God (YHWH) and the “Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David…stood a Lamb” clearly refer to Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves).  This proves that the Apostle John did not believe in a trinity or even a “duality.”  An interesting commentary on this, states, “In his post-resurrection heavenly life, Jesus is portrayed as retaining a personal individuality every bit as distinct and separate from the person of God as was his in his life on earth as the terrestrial Jesus.” (the “Bulletin of the John Rylands Library,”  Manchester, UK).

Likewise Thomas, who had to have everything proven to him, considered Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) a subordinate to Almighty God (YHWH) “The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.  26 ¶ And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.  27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.  28  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.  29  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.  30  And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”  Of course some will say Thomas was calling Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves), Almighty God (YHWH), but he was not, but was simply recognizing as one superior to himself.  The actual Koine Greek God (ho The·os'): however, some scholars have clearly viewed this expression as an exclamation of astonishment spoken to Jesus, but directed to God.  Others claim the original Koine Greek requires these words to be considered as directed to Jesus.  Either way, this expression “My Lord and my God” would still have to harmonize with the rest of the Bible.  The record shows that Jesus had previously sent his disciples the message, “ Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” (John 20:17 AV), thus there is absolutely no reason for believing that Thomas thought that Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) was Almighty God (YHWH).

Clearly all of Jesus’s (Jeshua or YHWH saves) Apostles and Disciples knew that he was not Almighty God (YHWH) and this is shown many times by what is written in the New Testament as previously gone over.  In addition, there are many more scriptures that clearly show this and Jesus’s (Jeshua or YHWH saves) subordinate position such as:
“ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.” (John 14:28 AV), “ But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” (1 Corinthians 11:3 AV), “ And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:28 AV), “ Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” (John 5:19 AV), etc.  Likewise, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) clearly taught his followers not to worship him, but to worship Almighty God (YHWH) as shown, “ Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Matthew 4:10 AV), “ But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” (John 4:23 AV), “ God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24 AV), “ Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” (John 20:17 AV), “ And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Luke 4:8 AV), etc.  It is to be noted that Almighty God (YHWH) used Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) to create all things on earth, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;” (Colossians 1:16-19 AV), “2  The same was in the beginning with God.   All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” John 1:2-4 AV), “ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.” (John 1:10 AV).

PART 4
Let’s now consider what some of the early ‘church’ fathers thought.  But first let’s look at what “The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology,” “Primitive Christianity did not have an explicit doctrine of the Trinity such as subsequently elaborated in the creeds,” and what the book, “The Paganism in Our Christianity,” says, “The early Christians, however, did not at first think of applying the idea [trinity] to their own faith.  They paid their devotions to God [YHWH] the Father and to Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and they recognised…the Holy Spirit; but there was no thought of these three being an actual Trinity, co-equal and united in One.”  In fact it was not so in the apostolic and sub-apostolic ages and this is clearly shown in “The Two Babylons,” by Rev. Alexander Hilsop (http://philologos.org/__eb-ttb/default.htm  (The Two Babylons on the Internet)), and in the “Encyclopaedia of Religion and Ethics.” The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: "The formulation 'one God in three Persons' was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective." - (1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.  Last but not least, "The Church of the First Three Centuries," by Alvan Lamson stated, "The modern popular doctrine of the Trinity..derives no support from the language of Justin [Martyr]: and this observation may be extended to all the ante-Nicene Fathers; that is, to all Christian writers for three centuries after the birth of Christ. It is true, they speak of the Father, Son, and...holy Spirit, but not as co-equal, not as one numerical essence, not as Three in One, in any sense now admitted by Trinitarians. The very reverse is the fact."

The Ante-Nicene Fathers were acknowledged leading religious teachers in the early centuries after the death of Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves); therefore, what they taught and believed:

Justin Martyr, died approximately 165 A.D., stated that Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) had been a created angel who is  “other than the God who made all things,” before coming onto the earthly scene.  He said that Jesus was inferior to God and “never did anything except what the Creator…willed him to do and say.”

Clement of Alexandria, died approximately 215 A.D.,  called God “the uncreated and imperishable and only true God.”  He stated that the Son “is next to the only omnipotent Father” but not equal to him.

Irenaeus, died approximately 200 A.D., stated that the prehuman Jesus had a separate existence from God and was inferior to him.  He showed that Jesus is not equal to the “one true and only God,” who is “supreme over all, and besides whom there is no other.

Tertullian, died approximately 230 A.D., taught the supremacy of God.  He observed: “The Father is different from the Son, as he is greater; as he who begets is different from him who is begotten; he who sends, different from him who is sent.”  Also, he stated: “There was a time when the Son was not…Before all things God was alone.”  Note: “The Doctrine of The Trinity defies the universally accepted and historically always held meaning of the words for father and son. Not only does it defy the meaning of these words, it destroys their meaning! This fact is important to realize for God gave us language. It was not invented by man as the evolutionist tries to say. Thus, we are not destroying man made terms, but God-given terms! These terms, as given to us by God, require that the father exists before the son, and for the son to be brought into existence by the father. This universally accepted and recognized definition is what these terms have meant from the beginning of this creation. Therefore, who has given anyone the authority to change these God-given terms now? In fact, The Lord Jesus Christ verifies the meaning of these terms when he says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him." John 13:16 "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I." John 14:28. Here, he establishes that God is his lord, that he was sent by his lord, that God is his Father, and that his Father is greater than he himself. How could any of these declarations be true if the Doctrine of The Trinity is true? It is clearly impossible for these declarations of The Lord Jesus Christ to be true and the Doctrine of The Trinity to be True! It is easy to see that these words of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Doctrine of the Trinity are mutually exclusive and opposing views!”  [from a letter of of Bro. Scaramastro one of the greatest exposers of false doctrine of all times of the Antipas Organization].
Further with respect Tertullian, The Catholic Encyclopedia also says: "In Scripture there is as yet no single term by which the Three Divine Persons are denoted together. The word [tri'as] (of which the Latin trinitas is a translation) is first found in Theophilus of Antioch about A. D. 180 . . . Shortly afterwards it appears in its Latin form of trinitas in Tertullian." However, this is no proof in itself that Tertullian taught the Trinity. The Catholic work Trinitas - A Theological Encyclopedia of the Holy Trinity, for example, notes that some of Tertullian's words were later used by others to describe the Trinity. But then it states: "But hasty conclusions cannot be drawn from usage, for he does not apply the words to Trinitarian theology."
Hippolytus, died approximately 235 A.D., stated that God is “the one God, the first and the only One, the Maker and Lord of all,” who “had nothing co-eval [of the same age] with him…But he was One, alone by himself; who, willing it called into being what had no being before,” one of these created individuals being the created prehuman Jesus.
Origen, died approximately 250 A.D., stated “the Father and Son are two substances…two things as to their essence,” and “compared with the Father, [Jesus, the son] is a very small light.”
As Alvan Lamson stated in “The Church of the First Three Centuries,” see the first part of PART 4 above, the early church fathers, ante-Nicene Fathers, had no belief in a Trinity of a co-equal, not one in a numerical essence, nor not one as Three in One.  They were basically monotheists in belief the same as Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) and his Apostles and Disciples.  However, the further in the stream of time from Jesus and his Apostles and Disciples the more divergence from the original beliefs became the beliefs of many so called Christians.  Or in other words the greater became the variance from the proclaimed  “ Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:” (Deuteronomy 6:4 AV).  This degeneration from genuine beliefs taught by  Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) and his contemporary followers became greater over time and culminated in an apostate church taking orders from a pagan Roman Emperor, Constantine, whose only interest was to bring religious unity in his empire so as to keep it strong.  He, Emperor Constantine, called the Council of Nicea [325 A.D.] and sent out letters to all Bishops to attend, and he dictated what doctrine would become the central doctrine of this apostate church.  However, one historian of the 3 century rote of this gradual drift to the God dishonoring concept gradually coming to full fruitation as follows:

“One early witness who testifies to these early developments regarding the Trinity is Gregory of Nazianzus. In the work _Epistles 58_ Gregory Nazianzus explained the absence of the Holy Spirit from the discussions about the Godhead, by stating that "the Old Testament proclaimed the Father manifestly, and the Son more hiddenly. The New [Testament] manifested the Son and suggested the deity of the Spirit. Now the Spirit himself is resident among us, and

provides a clearer explanation of himself." As late as 380, Gregory Nazianzus wrote, "to be slightly in error [about the Holy Spirit] was to be orthodox." This statement too proves that the orthodox understanding of the Holy Spirit was not "clear" until 381. As a matter

of fact, this statement further demonstrates that the church neither subscribed to nor affirmed the teaching of the Trinity until 381 C.E. Even at that point, the "details" of the Trinity still had to be worked out.” (The Christian Tradition, Jaroslav Pelikan, Vol. I, p.

213. Cf. also Gregory Nazianzus--Orations 31.5).

“From a brief look at these developments, it seems warranted to conclude that the NT does not present a clear expression of the Triune Godhead. Therefore, we could reasonably conclude that neither the primitive church, nor the ante-Nicene fathers taught the Trinity.

Gregory Nazianzus even exclaimed that Scripture did not, "very clearly or very often call him [the Holy Spirit] God in so many words, as it does the Father and later on the Son" (Gregory Nazianzus, Orations 31.12). Gregory's testimony is so important because he lived at the time when the Trinity assimilated its way into Christian didache. Concerning this prominent Christian "father," Jaroslav Pleikan says: "In remarkable summary of

the controversy within the orthodox camp, composed in the same year, he [Gregory Nazianzus] declared: "Of the wise men among ourselves, some have conceived of him

[the Holy spirit] as an activity, some as a creature, some as God; and some have been uncertain which to call him . . . And therefore they neither worship him nor treat him with dishonor, but take up a neutral position." He did add, however, that "of those who onsider him to be God, some are orthodox in mind only, while others venture to be so with the lips also."   It was apparently not only "careful distinctions, derived from unpractical philosophy and vain delusion" that could be blamed for this confusion, but also the undeveloped state of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit in relation to the Son in the Trinity." ( The Christian Tradition, Jaroslav Pelikan, p. 213. Cf. Gregory Nazianzus, Orations,

21.33, 31:5. Also Basil, On The Holy Spirit 3.5).

But this is another part of history that will not be further dealt with in this writing.

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1] THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2] WHAT RELIGION DOES ALMIGHTY GOD (YHWH) APPROVE?   [1] SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 955A]  But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:34 38, (Authorized King James Bible; AV)  Our love for Jehovah should spring from the heart. Jesus made that clear when a Pharisee asked him which was the greatest commandment.  What did Jesus mean when he said that we must love God with our whole heart? He meant that we must love Jehovah with our entire figurative heart, affecting our desires, emotions, and feelings. We must also love him with our whole soul, or our life and being. Moreover, we must love God with our whole mind, or our full intellect. In essence, we ought to love Jehovah fully, without reservation.    [2] WHAT RELIGION DOES ALMIGHTY GOD (YHWH) APPROVE?  Have you ever wondered which religion God approves? This scripture, Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (Mark 7:7 AV), makes it clear he does not approve of all.  It is imperative to investigate carefully to find the religion God approves as the Devil has spawn 1,000s of counterfeits. But how is one to go about this task and what standard is he/she to use? Well there are certain salient items to look for:  (1) Is it largely ritualistic, a formality, or is it a way of life? God strongly disapproves of religion that is merely a formalism, And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. 16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. (Isaiah 1:15-17 AV). True religion upholds the Bibles standard of morality and clean speech instead of weakly going along with the popular trends, But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. (Ephesians 5:3-5 AV). Its members reflect the fruits of Gods spirit in their lives, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 AV). So, those who adhere to true worship can be identified because they sincerely endeavor to apply Bible standards in their lives not only at their places of meeting, but in their family life, at their secular work, in school, and in recreation.  (2) Is true faith in Jesus Christ being demonstrated? This involves appreciation of the value of the sacrifice of Jesus human life and of his position today as heavenly King, He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36 AV), Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. (Psalms 2:6-8 AV). Such appreciation is shown by obeying Jesussharing personally and zealously in the work that he assigned to his followers. True religion has such faith that is accompanied by works, For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (James 2:26 AV).  (3) Does it make known the name of God? Jesus said in prayer to God: I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. (John 17:6 AV), He declared: Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:10 AV). And And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. (Exodus 6:3 AV). (4) On what are its teachings based? Are they from the true God, or are they largely from men? All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Timothy 3:16 AV), and Mark 7:7, the Scripture of the Day. For example, ask, where does the Bible teach that God is a trinity? Or that the human soul is immortal?  (5) Do its members truly love one another? Jesus said: By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35 AV). Such love reaches across racial, social, and national boundaries, drawing people together in genuine brotherhood. So strong should be this love that it will set them apart as truly different. When the nations go to war, who have enough love for their fellow Christian brothers in other lands that they refuse to take up arms and kill them? That is what early Christians did.  (6) Is it truly separate from the world? Jesus said that his true followers would be, If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (John 15:19 AV). To worship God in a manner that he approves requires that we keep ourselves, Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27 AV). Can that be said of those clergy and others who lives are largely built around materialistic and fleshly desires? Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (1 John 2:15-17 AV).  (7) Are its members active in letting others know about the Word of God and Gods Kingdom? Jesus foretold: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24:14 AV). What religion is really proclaiming Gods Kingdom as the only hope of mankind instead of encouraging people to look to human rulership to solve their problems? And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. (Matthew 10:7 AV), And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. 12 And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. (Matthew 10:11-13 AV), And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Acts 5:42 AV), And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, (Acts 20:20 AV).  LEARN MORE ABOUT THE BIBLE AND RELIGION BOTH TRUE AND FALSE AT WWW.JW.ORG

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]     WORSHIP WHO AND WHO ABSTRACTED FROM A JEWISH WRITING

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 956A]

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.  1 Timothy 2:5 – 6   (Authorized King James Bible; AV)

As a perfect man, Jesus (Yeshua) had prospects similar to those of Adam before he sinned.   Jehovah’s purpose was to fill the earth with Adam’s perfect offspring. Hence, with deep love for his Father and for Adam’s descendants, Jesus gave up his human life in sacrifice.   Yes, Jesus (Yeshua) gave up a perfect human life that corresponded to what Adam had lost.  Thereafter, Jehovah restored his Son to life as a spirit. (1 Pet. 3:18)   Jehovah could justly accept the sacrifice of that one perfect man, Jesus (Yeshua), as a ransom, or purchase price, to buy back Adam’s family and give them the life prospects that Adam had forfeited.   In a sense, Jesus (Yeshua) took the place of Adam.   Paul explains: “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.”  (1 Cor. 15:45,  [AV] ).

[2]    WORSHIP WHO AND WHO ABSTRACTED FROM A JEWISH WRITING

BEFORE YOU READ THIS KEEP IN MIND, MY COMMENTS TO CLARIFY WHO WE SHOULD WORSHIP IN FEW WORDS:
**REALITY FROM THE SCRIPTURES, MATTHEW 4:10, “Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”’ (New World Translation revised; NWTr); and Revelation 22:8 – 9, And I John am he that heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things.  9  And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren the prophets, and with them that keep the words of this book: worship God.»   (American Standard Version; ASV) .**
If Yehoshua Ha’Moshiach was worshipped in a religious manner then he would have to be The True God. Let’s first get the two types of worship said in Greek. This proskuneo is the type of worship that we see given to Ha’Moshiach. This type of worship is also given to The True God, but not only to The True God. I will show an example first read the definition below.
4352 proskuneo {pros-koo-neh'-o}

1) to kiss the hand to (towards) one, in token of reverence

2) among the Orientals, esp. the Persians, to fall upon the knees and

touch the ground with the forehead as an expression of profound

reverence

3) in the NT by kneeling or prostration to do homage (to one) or make

obeisance, whether in order to express respect or to make supplication

3a) used of homage shown to men and beings of superior rank

3a1) to the Jewish high priests

3a2) to God

3a3) to Christ

3a4) to heavenly beings

3a5) to demons
Okay we see Ha’Moshiach is given this kind of worship, but he is never given religious worship we will get into that word in a second. First let’s look at an example of this word.
Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. (KJV)
I made the word worship stand out, cause this word is proskuneo. If we use the times when Ha’Moshiach receives this type of worship to say Ha’Moshiach is The True God, then we must also argue we are True Gods. For we see here we will receive this kind of worship. So we can clearly see this kind of worship is not to The True God only. Lets see some other examples of men being worshipped and is not forbidden.
1st Chronicles 29:20 And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the YHVH your God. And all the congregation blessed the YHVH God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the YHVH, and the king.
You will notice they worshipped YHVH and they worshipped the king. No one rebukes them for doing so. The Hebrew word shachah is used here for worship which is similar to the Greek, proskuneo. This kind of worship is also given to high ranking men and angels and The True God. If an angel is worthy of this so is the Son of The True God. Let’s look at other examples of shachah worship, Strongs number for this Hebrew is:
07812 shachah {shaw-khaw'}

1) to bow down

1a) (Qal) to bow down

1b) (Hiphil) to depress (fig)

1c) (Hithpael)

1c1) to bow down, prostrate oneself

1c1a) before superior in homage

1c1b) before God in worship

1c1c) before false gods

1c1d) before angel
Okay so let’s look at other examples now.
Genesis 18:2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
We see here YHVH comes to Avraham with two angels. We know the other two men are angels cause he only calls them adonai not YHVH. Also the two men in this chapter go to Sodom in the very next chapter we will see they are angels. I will trust you will read chapter 18 and 19 if you do not know it well. So Avraham bows him self to all three. The Hebrew word here is guess what? Shachah. But to further the point lets see if Lot also worships these two angels. After the two angels depart from Avraham but one man which is the representation of The True God stays behind, they go to Sodom.
Genesis 19:1-2 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
We see Lot also worships the two angels, same word here is shachah. Also notice he says adonai to them, masters, but does not call them YHVH, or The True God. Keep in mind Sarah calls Avraham adonai, people call David adonai, etc.
Genesis 27:29-30 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curses thee, and blessed be he that blesses thee. And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
Isaac blesses Jacob and says let all Shachah (bow down) worship you. This worship is to bow your self down to show honor, we do this to The True God, to angels, to moshiach, to kings, etc. We can see Jacob is not The True God, and we can see that he is given this type of worship. Everyone was to bow down to Jacob even his mom. Wow!
Genesis 33:3-4 And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.
Jacob bowed to Esau 7 times. This again is the same word shachah. If you go on to read you will see Rachel and Leah also come to bow down.
Genesis 37:9-10 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?
We see in the dream the stars Shachah Joseph. Notice the people understood this to mean we will worship (shachah) you. If you know the rest of the story, this happens, Joseph becomes a great king, and they do bow to him. Hebrew only uses one word for worship. There is another Hebrew word translated as worship but it is only given to objects like gold. Greek has that one word sebomai that is specifically religious worship unlike Hebrew.
Genesis 43:28 And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance.
The reason why I am showing this verse is because if the writer just wanted to say they bowed down them selves or there heads as gratitude they would just use the word qadad, to bow down or bow the head which is used in this verse bowed the head. The second word obeisance is the word shachah for worship. These two words are very different from on another. Qadad is just to bow down, does not have to mean with honor, but shachah is worship, as to bow. Reason why I bring this up is because they did not just bow down to him but they worshipped him. I know this idea may seem strange to you, for the bible says we only worship The True God, and we do. But to give honor to men is not wrong, and it was always a practice as you can see. Remember what Paul says:
Romans 13:1-7 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shall have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bear not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
Honor to whom honor is due. We see leaders of the earth even if they are evil are in The True Gods’ hand, to execute The True Gods’ wrath on earth, to them that do evil. So we show them honor.
Numbers 22:31-32 Then the YHVH opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the YHVH standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face. And the angel of the YHVH said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me:
Baalim, not only bowed to the angel, but fell right to his face, why did the angel not tell him to stop. Because he was not giving over the amount that only belongs to The True God. But we do see times when the angels say do not do that, well at least certain angels. I am going to show a few more then we will go to the times were Ha’Moshiach was worshipped and see if they did anything different to him then they did to men.
Joshua 5:13-15 And it came to pass, when Yehoshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Yehoshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the YHVH am I now come. And Yehoshua [Jesus or in Hebrew Yeshua or Yehoshua] fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What says my Lord unto his servant? And the captain of the YHVH's host said unto Yehoshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou stand is holy. And Yehoshua did so.
We see in these verse, in the KJV it even uses the word worship rather then bow down, the same Hebrew word shachah. Note the angel did not rebuke him. Notice loose your show from your foot, interesting, if you recall God had Moshe do the same thing. When we walk on what is holy ground do we take our shoes off, maybe we should, just a thought. Then Yehoshua calls the angel adonai Lord. NOTE: the same word shachah when translated as bow down, God says you will NOT bow down to other gods, you will NOT bow down to idols. But we can bow down to men, reason is God knows if you are bowing down to the angel or the man as if he was a god in your mind. So if you bow down to Yehoshua Ha’Moshiach as The True God and he is not, you are in big trouble, but we will see how they bowed to him, the same way Yehoshua just worshipped this angel. Below are some other examples. The big words are the word shachah.
2nd Samuel 14:4 And when the woman of Tekoah spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.
2nd Samuel 14:22 And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knows that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.
2nd Samuel 15:5 And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.
2nd Samuel 18:28 And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the YHVH thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.
2nd Samuel 24:20 And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground.
1st Kings 1:16 And Bathsheba bowed (qadad), and did obeisance (shachah) unto the king. And the king said, What would thou?
Notice not only qadad but shachah, not just bowed, but bowed and worshipped.
1st Kings 1:23 And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
2nd Kings 2:15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
1st Chronicles 21:21 And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
Okay now let’s see if when people worshipped Ha’Moshiach if it was any different. All these words were they worshipped Ha’Moshiach is proskuneo not sebomai. Proskuneo is the equivalent of shachah. Proskuneo Greek, shachah Hebrew.
Matthew 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Where is the king, so no surprise if they gave such worship [honor] to every king, why not to the KING MOSHIACH?
Matthew 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
Notice how they also brought presents to Hezekiah the king. 2nd Chronicles 32:23 And many brought gifts unto the YHVH to Jerusalem, and presents to Hezekiah king of Judah: so that he was magnified in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.
Matthew 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Matthew 9:18 While he spoke these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Matthew 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Why did they not say of a truth we know you are The True God? Because they did not believe he was The True God.
Matthew 15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, lord, help me.
Notice she also calls him lord, this word is Greek, kurios which means master, lord. If she was calling him YHVH, in Greek they would have said Thou meaning God.
Matthew 20:20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Yehoshua had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Yehoshua came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
We see that no one worshipped Ha’Moshiach as The True God, but gave him the same worship Jews have always giving to prophets, kings, etc. What did the others doubt; they doubted he was their KING Ha’Moshiach to come. If they worshipped him as The True God they would have worshipped him according to sebomai worship, at LEAST ONCE it would be in bible. Let’s see what sebomai worship means:
4576 sebomai {seb'-om-ahee}
middle voice of an apparently primary verb; TDNT - 7:169,1010; v
AV - worship 6, devout 3, religious 1; 10
1)  to revere, to worship
This kind of worship is only given to who one believes is The True God or a god to false worshippers. If ANYONE can show me were Ha’Moshiach received this kind of worship I will then believe Ha’Moshiach is The True God. If Ha’Moshiach was The True God or believed to be The True God by the apostles, believe me they would have gave him THIS kind of worship, religious worship. This kind of worship is not given to men but only to The True God or what is believed to be gods. I am going to show every verse that has this word in it, sebomai.
Matthew 15:8-9 This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Ha’Moshiach is quoting Isaiah 29:13, how the Yisraelites were worshipping The True God in vain cause there hearts were not into it.
Mark 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Same as above.
Acts 13:43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
Here it is translated as religious cause that is all that will if into the context. But I imagine this could be said, Jew and worshipping proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas.
Acts 13:50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
Same as above. Could better be translated more literal, stirred up the worshipping and honorable women.
Acts 16:14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
She worshipped God. So far we see this action is ONLY given to The True God. Thus why in the definition you do not see it can be given to man. That is why we never see it given to Ha’Moshiach.
Acts 17:4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.
More literal, and of the worshipping Greeks, basically to say believers.
Acts 17:17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
And with the worshipping persons.
Acts 18:7 And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.
Again this worship is only seen to God, not man.
Acts 18:12-13 And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat, Saying, This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.
They are trying to accuse Paul of note worshipping The True God according to the law, but he proves them wrong. Again we see this worship is to The True God not man.
Acts 19:27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nothing; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worships.
The pagans gave this kind of worship to a goddess, not man, but something they believed to be a real god. Why is it that if Yehoshua is The True God no one ever gave him this kind of worship? I would think if he was The True God someone would have gave him this honor due to him. These are all the verses with this word in it, but if you think there is more please take the challenge and try to prove me wrong, show me were Yehoshua received this kind of worship, if you cannot then how can you say he is The True God.

**MY COMMENTS TO CLARIFY WHO WE SHOULD WORSHIP IN FEW WORDS:
REALITY FROM THE SCRIPTURES, MATTHEW 4:10, “Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan!

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.  James 1:25,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Yes, we must act in harmony with our faith as clearly shown by James 2:24 -26, [AV] “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25  Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”  To booster your faith, take note of the many fulfilled prophecies in the Bible and the fine works of many of the prophets of old.

Francis David said it long ago, "Neither the sword of popes...nor the image of death will halt the march of truth. "Francis David, 1579, written on the wall of his prison cell." Read the book, "What Does The Bible Really Teach" and the Bible today, and go to WWW.JW.ORG!

[2]   Here is a Commentary on Bountiful Trees and Vegetables God (YHWH) has provided for mankind, specifically the Amomum compactum, Round cardamon is an aromatic, robust, perennial plant producing leafy stems up to 2 metres tall from a spreading, copiously branched rhizome that is around 1 - 2cm in diameter[

Cultivation Details
Round cardamom is a plant of the moist tropics. It grows best in areas where the mean annual temperature is in the range 23 - 28°c, tolerating daily temperatures from 10 - 35°c. It requires a constant high relative humidity, with a mean annual rainfall of 2,500 - 4,000mm, and at least 136 rainy days[

].It can be found at elevations from 200 - 1,000 metres, though the greatest yields are obtained at 300 - 500 metres[
].

Requires a position in partial shade. Grows best in a fertile, moist, humus-rich soil that is well-drained. Prefers a pH in the range 5 - 6.8[
].

During the first years of growth, flowers produce hardly any fruit[
].

New inflorescences develop continuously from the 3rd or 4th year and produce fruits that mature 6 - 8 weeks after flowering. Rainfall (or irrigation) promotes flowering, while fruit-set is increased by the presence of pollinating insects[
].

When mature, the fruit feels firm, the corolla has been shed, and the skin is wrinkled and reddish-purple. Harvesting is carried out by cutting the entire fruit cluster and then removing the individual fruits[
].

From the 4th year onwards the fruit can be harvested every 35 - 45 days. In Java, for example, four small harvests are possible between January and July (rainy season) and 3 larger ones between August and December (dry season)[
].

Yields are quite low in the first few years. Dry fruit yield can reach 275 kilos per hectare during the second year, gradually rising to 475 kilos in subsequent years[].
Edible Uses
The pungent young shoots can be eaten raw, roasted or cooked and served as a side dish with rice[

The fruits have a sweet, turpentine aroma and flavour[
]. They are used as a spice[].

The seeds have a peppery, ginger-like flavour and serve as a warm aromatic spice to sweeten the breath and to appetize food[

]. They can be used as a substitute for the true cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum), and are sometimes considered as having a more appreciated taste[

]. The seeds are used in cakes[].
Medicinal
The seeds are stomachic and tonic. They are used as a remedy against colds and coughs, and as a tonic after childbirth[

]. The seeds are chewed to sweeten the breath[].

A decoction of the whole plant is drunk as a tonic and to alleviate rheumatic pain[

]. The plant is used to treat coughs and colds[].

The dried crushed rhizomes are taken to reduce fever and to combat intestinal pains[].
Agroforestry Uses:
The plant grows well in shade and can be planted under tree crops such as coconut or sugar palm[ ?[SOURCE - RETRIVED FROM  http://tropical.theferns.info/viewtropical.php?id=Amomum+compactum  ON   7/25/2018]

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]  HISTORY SHOWS THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT LOVING OUR BROTHER – SECTION 1 OF 2

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 958A]

And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.   1 Corinthians 15:28   (Authorized King James Bible; AV)

By the end of the thousand years of Kingdom rule, obedient mankind will have been liberated from all enemies introduced by Adam’s disobedience.  The Bible says: “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.   But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.  Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.  The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” (1 Corinthians 15:22-26,  [AV])

Yes, death inherited from Adam will at last be done away with. “And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.   He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.” (Isaiah 25:7 - 8,  [AV] ).

The apostle Paul completes his inspired summary with these words: “And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:28,  [AV])   The purpose of the Son’s rule will have been accomplished.   He will then, with deep satisfaction, return his authority to Jehovah and present to him the perfected human family

[2]   HISTORY SHOWS THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT LOVING OUR BROTHER:

It is imperative a right hearted Christian understand the difference between right and wrong.  Interestingly when Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) was on earth, agents of the Sanhedrin under authority of the chief priest were sent to arrest him, but failed to do so.  When asked by the chief priest and the Pharisees why they had not, they answered, “45 ¶ Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?  46  The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.” (John 7:45-46 AV).  Was his speech eloquent?  No it was down to earth and was strong due to its simplicity and clarity.  For example, his Sermon on the Mount probably took less that 20 minutes to deliver, but without doubt is the most outstanding ever delivered, see Matthew 5 through 7 Chapter.

Now lets consider Ephisians where Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) stated, “1 ¶ I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2 ¶ With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  4  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5  One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  7  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:1-7 Av).  Here he brings out that we should, “walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,” and that with “With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love,” showing we should be forbearing and loving one another.  Also, this scripture shows that we should be one in purpose and unity as there is “One God,”  and that to each of us is “given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.”   Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) then went on to say “ No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” (Luke 16:13 AV) which clearly shows we must serve God and not worldly interest.  And he pointed out “ Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:” (Luke 6:37 AV) which shows we are not judges of individuals and should be forgiving.  However, “ Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.” (Malachi 3:18 AV) shows that Almighty God’s son will be the judge between the righteous and the wicked.  Jesus stated with respect the judgment by him as the appointee of his Father (YHWH) that “ I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” (John 5:30 AV).

However, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) stated, “ Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:20 AV) showing that we should be able to recognize the wicked from the good by their fruits, and then went on to say, “22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:22-23 AV).  Therefore quoting history is not making judgmental statements with regard to the final judgment of an individual, but only reporting reality.  Even though one’s works can be extremely evil today, they can turn their life around and be acceptable to Almighty God (YHWH) and be judged worthy by his son.  There is no more outstanding example of this than the Apostle Paul who had formally been known as Saul an opposer of genuine Christianity.  Before turning his life around he had been an accessory to murder in the killing of the Disciple of Christ, Stephen,  “57  Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, 58  And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.  59  And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” (Acts 7:57-59 AV).  However, the ascended Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) saw good in his heart despite of the wicked things he had done “3  And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4  And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?  5  And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.  6  And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.  7  And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.  8  And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.” (Acts 9:3-8 AV), and “10 ¶ And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.  11  And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,  12  And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.  13  Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.  15  But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: 16  For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.” (Acts 9:10-16 AV); these scriptures clearly shows that Saul had a good heart and that the ascended Jesus discerned that and saw him worthy for use as an Apostle despite his past wicked acts.  However, the wrongs of Paul while he was Saul were duly recorded in the Bible under divine inspiration “ And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.” (Acts 8:1 AV), here it tells of Saul being an accessory to the murder of Stephen.

Why were these wicked acts of Paul when he was Saul recorded?  The first reason was to let all know that the acts were wicked, and the second to show how one can repent, turn his life around, and be acceptable to Almighty God (YHWH) and to his Son, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves).  Therefore, it is clear that condemning historical wrongs and wickedness is in no way judging an individual, but only the acts committed by the individual.  The bible is replete with individuals who were judged acceptable to God doing wrong things and these were all duly recorded as a warning to us.  The Bible clearly shows that “22 ¶ Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.  23  And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?  24  But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.  25  And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26  And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?” (Matthew 12:22-26 AV).  Here he was really saying, that if I were an agent of the Devil, then the Devil would be working against his own interest and could not endure!  Likewise, we need to look at the wickedness of a house divided against itself and ask if any of the acts on either side would be the acts of foot step followers of the Prince of Peace, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves).  First we will take a brief look at Catholic martyrs made so by Protestants:

“Well, there have been thousands of Catholic martyrs murdered at the hands of blood thirsty Protestants in the years following the Reformation. No serious student of history can ever dismiss this fact. Of course, many Catholic have been guilty of the same. So what does this prove? Not a heck of a lot actually.
Firstly, if by even asking the question, any Protestant wants to dismiss the Catholic Church's authority to teach, then I respectfully submit that he take the log out of his own eye.
Secondly, corporal/capital punishment by authentic ecclesiatical authority is quite biblical, actually, and to which the Old Testament (Exodus 32:24-35) and New Testament (Acts 5:5) clearly attest. If anything, it only points to the deficiency in the Protestant's ecclesiology since they must first establish that their particular denomination has that authority - which of course, they do not.
Thirdly, murder or any other vice, even by an ecclesiological one, does not annul their authority to teach. King David (murder) and the Pharisees (pride) were guilty of serious sins, but no man had the authority usurp them since they were God's anointed.
Now, to your specific question. There are a plethora of examples of Catholic martyrs throughout history at the hands of Protestant authorities. St. Thomas More, St. John Fisher, St. Edmund Campion, for instance, are the more famous ones in England.
Here are some brief remards from Dr. Art Sippo about the issue, including a few comments on Foxe's book:

"There are several Catholics murdered by prots actually. First of all, St. Thomas More, St. John Fisher, St. Robert Southworth, St. Margaret Clitherow, St. Edmund Campion, and the others comprising the 83 English and Welsh Martyrs. There were also many thousands killed in the 16th Century Western Rebellion in England when Catholics resisted the changes in the Mass forced on them by the crown. Fr. Philip Caraman, SJ recently wrote a book about this. There are numerous examples in Ireland during the penal times including St. Oliver Plunckett. And we should not forget the genocidal fury of Oliver Cromwell as he indiscriminantly slaughtered Catholics in Ireland. The controversy over prot parades through Catholic neighborhoods in Northern Ireland is linked to this. The prots are celebrating genocide. I consider those involved in such parades to be guilty of grave sin.

Recently, JPII canonized St. Jan Sarkander in Czechslovakia who was martyred by prots. The prot cults there were all upset about it but he did it anyway. There were many unsung martyrs in Deformation territories who have not been canonized.”  [source = http://www.catholicintl.com/epologetics/questions/cathmartyrs.html, by John Pacheco

Catholic Apologetics International ]

Now let’s take a brief look at Protestants made martyrs in the Bartholomew Massacre at Paris  by Catholics:
On the twenty second day of August, 1572, commenced this diabolical act of sanguinary brutality. It was intended to destroy at one stroke the root of the Protestant tree, which had only before partially suffered in its branches. The king of France had artfully proposed a marriage, between his sister and the prince of Navarre, the captain and prince of the Protestants. This imprudent marriage was publicly celebrated at Paris, August 18, by the cardinal of Bourbon, upon a high stage erected for the purpose. They dined in great pomp with the bishop, and supped with the king at Paris. Four days after this, the prince (Coligny), as he was coming from the Council, was shot in both arms; he then said to Maure, his deceased mother's minister, "O my brother, I do now perceive that I am indeed beloved of my God, since for His most holy sake I am wounded." Although the Vidam advised him to fly, yet he abode in Paris, and was soon after slain by Bemjus; who afterward declared he never saw a man meet death more valiantly than the admiral.
The soldiers were appointed at a certain signal to burst out instantly to the slaughter in all parts of the city. When they had killed the admiral, they threw him out at a window into the street, where his head was cut off, and sent to the pope. The savage papists, still raging against him, cut off his arms and private members, and, after dragging him three days through the streets, hung him by the heels without the city. After him they slew many great and honorable persons who were Protestants; as Count Rochfoucault, Telinius, the admiral's son-in-law, Antonius, Clarimontus, marquis of Ravely, Lewes Bussius, Bandineus, Pluvialius, Burneius, etc., and falling upon the common people, they continued the slaughter for many days; in the three first they slew of all ranks and conditions to the number of ten thousand. The bodies were thrown into the rivers, and blood ran through the streets with a strong current, and the river appeared presently like a stream of blood. So furious was their hellish rage, that they slew all papists whom they suspected to be not very staunch to their diabolical religion. From Paris the destruction spread to all quarters of the realm.

At Orleans, a thousand were slain of men, women, and children, and six thousand at Rouen.
At Meldith, two hundred were put into prison, and later brought out by units, and cruelly murdered.
At Lyons, eight hundred were massacred. Here children hanging about their parents, and parents affectionately embracing their children, were pleasant food for the swords and bloodthirsty minds of those who call themselves the Catholic Church. Here three hundred were slain in the bishop's house; and the impious monks would suffer none to be buried.

At Augustobona, on the people hearing of the massacre at Paris, they shut their gates that no Protestants might escape, and searching diligently for every individual of the reformed Church, imprisoned and then barbarously murdered them. The same curelty they practiced at Avaricum, at Troys, at Toulouse, Rouen and many other places, running from city to city, towns, and villages, through the kingdom.
As a corroboration of this horrid carnage, the following interesting narrative, written by a sensible and learned Roman Catholic, appears in this place, with peculiar propriety.

"The nuptials (says he) of the young king of Navarre with the French king's sister, was solemnized with pomp; and all the endearments, all the assurances of friendship, all the oaths sacred among men, were profusely lavished by Catharine, the queen-mother, and by the king; during which, the rest of the court thought of nothing but festivities, plays, and masquerades. At last, at twelve o'clock at night, on the eve of St. Bartholomew, the signal was given. Immediately all the houses of the Protestants were forced open at once. Admiral Coligny, alarmed by the uproar jumped out of bed, when a company of assassins rushed in his chamber. They were headed by one Besme, who had been bred up as a domestic in the family of the Guises. This wretch thrust his sword into the admiral's breast, and also cut him in the face. Besme was a German, and being afterwards taken by the Protestants, the Rochellers would have brought him, in order to hang and quarter him; but he was killed by one Bretanville. Henry, the young duke of Guise, who afterwards framed the Catholic league, and was murdered at Blois, standing at the door until the horrid butchery should be completed, called aloud, 'Besme! is it done?' Immediately after this, the ruffians threw the body out of the window, and Coligny expired at Guise's feet.
"Count de Teligny also fell a sacrifice. He had married, about ten months before, Coligny's daughter. His countenance was so engaging, that the ruffians, when they advanced in order to kill him, were struck with compassion; but others, more barbarous, rushing forward, murdered him.
"In the meantime, all the friends of Coligny were assassinated throughout Paris; men, women, and children were promiscuously slaughtered and every street was strewed with expiring bodies. Some priests, holding up a crucifix in one hand, and a dagger in the other, ran to the chiefs of the murderers, and strongly exhorted them to spare neither relations nor friends.

"Tavannes, marshal of France, an ignorant, superstitious soldier, who joined the fury of religion to the rage of party, rode on horseback through the streets of Paris, crying to his men, 'Let blood! let blood! bleeding is as wholesome in August as in May.' In the memories of the life of this enthusiastic, written by his son, we are told that the father, being on his deathbed, and making a general confession of his actions, the priest said to him, with surprise, 'What! no mention of St. Bartholomew's massacre?' to which Tavannes replied, 'I consider it as a meritorious action, that will wash away all my sins.' Such horrid sentiments can a false spirit of religion inspire!

"The king's palace was one of the chief scenes of the butchery; the king of Navarre had his lodgings in the Louvre, and all his domestics were Protestants. Many of these were killed in bed with their wives; others, running away naked, were pursued by the soldiers through the several rooms of the palace, even to the king's antichamber. The young wife of Henry of Navarre, awaked by the dreadful uproar, being afraid for her consort, and for her own life, seized with horror, and half dead, flew from her bed, in order to throw herself at the feet of the king her brother. But scarce had she opened her chamber door, when some of her Protestant domestics rushed in for refuge. The soldiers immediately followed, pursued them in sight of the princess, and killed one who crept under her bed. Two others, being wounded with halberds, fell at the queen's feet, so that she was covered with blood.

"Some days after this horrid transaction, the French court endeavored to palliate it by forms of law. They pretended to justify the massacre by a calumny, and accused the admiral of a conspiracy, which no one believed. The parliament was commended to proceed against the memory of Coligny; and his dead body was hanged in chains on Montfaucon gallows. The king himself went to view this shocking spectacle. So one of his courtiers advised him to retire, and complaining of the stench of the corpse, he replied, 'A dead enemuy smells well.' The massacres on St. Bartholomew's day are painted in the royal saloon of the Vatican at Rome, with the following inscription: Pontifex, Coligny necem probat, i.e., 'The pope approves of Coligny's death.'

At Rome the horrid joy was so great, that they appointed a day of high festival, and a jubilee, with great indulgence to all who kept it and showed every expression of gladness they could devise! and the man who first carried the news received 1000 crowns of the cardinal of Lorraine for his ungodly message. The king also commanded the day to be kept with every demonstration of joy, concluding now that the whole race of Huguenots was extinct.

Many who gave great sums of money for their ransom were immediately after slain; and several towns, which were under the king's promise of protection and safety, were cut off as soon as they delivered themselves up, on those promises, to his generals or captains.
At Bordeaux, at the instigation of a villainous monk, who used to urge the papists to slaughter in his sermons, two hundred and sixty-four were cruelly murdered; some of them senators. Another of the same pious fraternity produced a similar slaughter at Agendicum, in Maine, where the populace at the holy inquisitors' satanical suggestion, ran upon the Protestants, slew them, plundered their houses, and pulled down their church.

The duke of Guise, entering into Blois, suffered his soldiers to fly upon the spoil, and slay or drown all the Protestants they could find. In this they spared neither age nor sex; defiling the women, and then murdering them; from whence he went to Mere, and committed the same outrages for many days together. Here they found a minister named Cassebonius, and threw him into the river.
At Anjou, they slew Albiacus, a minister; and many women were defiled and murdered there; among whom were two sisters, abused before their father, whom the assassins bound to a wall to see them, and then slew them and him.

The president of Turin, after giving a large sum for his life, was cruelly beaten with clubs, stripped of his clothes, and hung feet upwards, with his head and breast in the river: before he was dead, they opened his belly, plucked out his entrails, and threw them into the river; and then carried his heart about the city upon a spear.

At Barre great cruelty was used, even to young children, whom they cut open, pulled out their entrails, which through very rage they gnawed with their teeth. Those who had fled to the castle, when they yielded, were almost hanged. Thus they did at the city of Matiscon; counting it sport to cut off their arms and legs and afterward kill them; and for the entertainment of their visitors, they often threw the Protestants from a high bridge into the river, saying, "Did you ever see men leap so well?"

The tragical sufferings of the Protestants are too numerous to detail; but the treatment of Philip de Deux will give an idea of the rest. After the miscreants had slain this martyr in his bed, they went to his wife, who was then attended by the midwife, expecting every moment to be delivered. The midwife entreated them to stay the murder, at least till the child, which was the twentieth, should be born. Notwithstanding this, they thrust a dagger up to the hilt into the poor woman. Anxious to be delivered, she ran into a corn loft; but hither they pursued her, stabbed her in the belly, and then threw her into the street. By the fall, the child came from the dying mother, and being caught up by one of the Catholic ruffians, he stabbed the infant, and then threw it into the river. Now, the question is once more, can a house divided against itself stand? Obviously, there is plenty of blame on both sides, but in their terrible actions, neither was following the Prince of Peace that both claimed to be foot step followers of, Jesus (Jeshua or YHWH saves) the Son of Almighty God (YHWH).  This is really a lesson in why we should be loving our neighbor and remember he gave “ A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34 AV), “ This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 15:12 AV).  He brought how we should be “ Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1 John 3:16 AV).  And drives the point home that we can not be hating whom we can see and be loving God whom we can not see “ If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” (1 John 4:20 AV). The Bible clearly shows that we can tell the difference “7  Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.  8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.  9  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.  10  In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.  11 ¶ For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.” (1 John 3:7-11 AV).  This is further emphasized at “1 ¶ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  3  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.  4 ¶ Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.  5  And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.” (1 John 3:1-5 AV).  Last but not least “13  Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.  14 ¶ We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.  15  Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.  16  Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1 John 3:13-16 AV) clearly shows that the world would hate genuine Christians and who ever hates his brother [sister] is a murderer.  Therefore, we need to look at history and learn from it and not avoid it as an unpleasant thing of the past to be avoided, but a warning to us not to fall into hating our brother [sister] as was done in the past.  To summarize, Sincerity alone does not determine whether one's form of worship is valid in God's eyes “ Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.” (Joshua 24:14 AV), “ Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” (1 Corinthians 5:8 AV).   God sets the standard for acceptable worship of Him “13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14 AV), “ If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.” (James 1:26 AV), we do not.   So we can be very sincere and still be rejected by God. The Bible says he rejects even the prayers of those not serving him “ The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.” (Proverbs 15:29 AV), “ Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.” (Micah 3:4 AV).  Remember, as one writer wrote, “We make different choices based on what our conscience permits” so we need to train them well.

[source = Fox’s book of Martyrs, 4 Chapter, The Bartholomew Massacre at Paris, etc.]

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]  HISTORY SHOWS THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT LOVING OUR BROTHER – SECTION 2 OF 2

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 959A]

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:   And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.   Exodus 19:5 -6   (Authorized King James Bible; AV)

The Law covenant also provided an arrangement for a priesthood, foreshadowing a greater arrangement in the future. (Heb. 7:11; 10:1)   In fact, through that covenant, Israel had a unique opportunity and privilege to become “a kingdom of priests,” provided they met the stipulation to obey Jehovah’s laws.    Israel, however, failed to meet this requirement. Instead of esteeming the arrival of the Messiah, the primary part of Abraham’s offspring, the nation rejected him. Consequently, God rejected that nation.

Now what did the Law accomplish?    Israel’s failure to remain faithful to Almighty God (YHWH) and thus supply all those who would make up a kingdom of priests did not mean that the Law had failed. The Law was to protect the offspring and lead humans to the Messiah. Once the Christ came and was identified, the Law’s role was realized. “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” states the Bible. (Rom. 10:4,   [AV])

[2]   HISTORY SHOWS THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT LOVING OUR BROTHER – SECTION 2 OF 2

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   DISCOURSE ON MATTHEW 16:18 WORD USAGE AND MEANING

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 960A]

If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.  5  If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.  Exodus 25:4 – 5,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

This scripture shows a very important point for all Almighty God (YHWH) fearing individuals that they should NOT hold grudges.  This is further emphasized at Leviticus 19:17 – 18, [AV] “Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.  18  Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.”  Yes, we should seek peace as shown at 1 Peter 3:10 – 11, [AV] “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:  11  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it”

[2]     DISCOURSE ON MATTHEW 16:18 WORD USAGE AND MEANING:

INTRODUCTION:

Understanding the differences between the two Koine Greek words here translated 'rock' in English.  And one individual took me to task with respect this omission as follows:

"It is said that in Greek (the language the Gospels were written in), Peter is referred to as a "small rock;" "Petros," while what Jesus would build the Church on is "Petra," "big rock." Well, this is just plain untrue. Well, the differentiation between "Petros" and "Petra" is actually masculine/feminine forms. By the time Christ had arrived, this had changed and the gender differentiation was lost and so both words mean "rock." By no means a way of saying differentiation between large and small."

Interesting this is mostly correct and clearly shows that there is a major difference in meaning between the two Koine Greek words for rock whose difference is lost when translating to English.

IMPORTANCE OF DIFFERENCE:

First, it is important to understand that most of what people call or consider inconsistencies are really not such, but most often just a problem of translation and/or understanding, i.e., lack of understanding of what the original writer writing in his own language and culture meant/said in his original writing.   This is one of the problems leading to difficulty for many in understanding what Matthew 16:18 means when it says, "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Authorized King James Bible; AV).   To wit, a lot of meaning with respect what the original writer wrote in his own language as English does NOT differentiate between the two different Koine Greek words for rocks, and this causes much confusion for the English speaking reader.

Second, Since Peter is called a rock and Jesus (Yeshua) is also called a rock it is important to look at the original Koine Greek words used by the original writer, the Apostle Matthew.   As mentioned previously, one individual stated the following.

Clearly noting there is a significant difference between the two Koine Greek words translated as 'rock' in English.  His facts on the differences is basically correct, but his conclusion could not possibly be more in error than it is.  Why?

Well he overlooked a critical point, in many ancient languages in Greece and the middle east, the use of the feminine word and/or the feminine ending on a word was actually the diminutive form; whereas, the masculine word and/or the masculine ending on a word was the major or regular form.  This means, in this instance, that Christ would be the greater one or large rock upon which the congregation would be built, and the Apostle Peter would be the lesser one who would only have a limited function.

MATHEW 16:19 ASSIST IN THE CLARIFICATION OF THIS FACT:

Let's look at Matthew 16:19, "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (AV).   Now what does this scripture mean and how does its meaning clearly show that the Apostle Peter was NOT the 'rock' upon which the Congregation of God (YHWH) would be built, but Jesus (Yeshua) was?   For the answer, let's go to a Bible Dictionary and Encyclopedia.

"Figurative Use. In the figurative vein the Bible uses the term "key" to symbolize authority, government, and power. Eliakim, elevated to a position of trust and honor, had "the key of the house of David" put upon his shoulder. (Isa 22:20-22) In the Middle East, in more recent times, a large key upon a man's shoulder identified him as a person of consequence or importance. Anciently, a king's adviser, entrusted with the power of the keys, might have general supervision of the royal chambers and might also decide on any candidates for the king's service. In the angelic message to the congregation in Philadelphia the exalted Jesus Christ is said to have "the key of David," and he is the one "who opens so that no one will shut, and shuts so that no one opens." (Re 3:7, As the Heir of the covenant made with David for the Kingdom, Jesus Christ has committed to him the government of the household of faith and the headship of spiritual Israel. (Lu 1:32, 33) By his authority, symbolized by "the key of David," he can open or shut figurative doors, or opportunities and privileges.-Compare 1Co 16:9; 2Co 2:12, 13.

How did Peter use "the keys of the kingdom" that were entrusted to him?
Jesus said to Peter: "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, and whatever you may bind on earth will be the thing bound in the heavens, and whatever you may loose on earth will be the thing loosed in the heavens." (Mt 16:19) The identification of these keys logically must be based on other Scriptural information. Jesus made another reference to the subject of keys when he said to the religious leaders, versed in the Law, "You took away the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not go in, and those going in you hindered!" (Lu 11:52) A comparison of this text with Matthew 23:13 indicates that the 'going in' referred to is with regard to entrance into "the kingdom of the heavens." Thus, the use of the word "key" in Jesus' statement to Peter indicated that Peter would have the privilege of initiating a program of instruction that would open up special opportunities with respect to the Kingdom of the heavens.

Different from the hypocritical religious leaders of that time, Peter clearly did use divinely provided knowledge to help persons to 'enter into the kingdom,' notably on three occasions. One was on the day of Pentecost 33 C.E., when Peter, under inspiration, revealed to a gathered multitude that Jehovah God had resurrected Jesus and exalted him to His own right hand in the heavens and that Jesus, in that royal position, had poured out holy spirit on his assembled disciples. As a result of this knowledge and acting upon Peter's exhortation, "Repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the free gift of the holy spirit," about 3,000 Jews (and Jewish converts) took the step that led to their becoming prospective members of "the kingdom of the heavens." Other Jews subsequently followed their example.-Ac 2:1-41.

On another occasion Peter and John were sent to the Samaritans, who had not received the holy spirit even though they had been baptized. However, the two apostles "prayed for them" and "went laying their hands upon them," and they received holy spirit.-Ac 8:14-17.

The third occasion of Peter's being used in a special way to introduce persons into privileges as Kingdom heirs was when he was sent to the home of the Gentile Cornelius, an Italian centurion. By divine revelation Peter recognized and declared God's impartiality as regards Jews and Gentiles and that people of the nations, if God fearing and doers of righteousness, were now as acceptable to God as their Jewish counterparts. While Peter was presenting this knowledge to his Gentile hearers, the heavenly gift of the holy spirit came upon them and they miraculously spoke in tongues. They were subsequently baptized and became the first prospective members of "the kingdom of the heavens" from among the Gentiles. The unlocked door of opportunity for Gentile believers to become members of the Christian congregation thereafter remained open.-Ac 10:1-48; 15:7-9.

Matthew 16:19 may be rendered with grammatical correctness: "Whatever you may bind on earth will be the thing bound [or, the thing already bound] in the heavens, and whatever you may loose on earth will be the thing loosed [or, the thing already loosed] in the heavens." The translation by Charles B. Williams here reads: "Whatever you forbid on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven." Greek scholar Robert Young's literal translation reads: "Whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens." Since other texts make clear that the resurrected Jesus remained the one true Head over the Christian congregation, it is obvious that his promise to Peter did not mean Peter's dictating to heaven what should or should not be loosed but, rather, Peter's being used as heaven's instrument in the unlocking, or loosing, of certain determined things.-1Co 11:3; Eph 4:15, 16; 5:23; Col 2:8-10." [source - Insight, Volume 2].

1 CORINTHIANS PROVES JESUS (YESHUA) THE 'ROCK' UPON WHICH THE CONGREGATION OF GOD (YHWH) WOULD BE BUILT:

1 Corinthians 15:24-28, "Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  25  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.  26  The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.  27  For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.  28  And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." (AV).

As can be seen, all authority over everything except himself was given to Jesus (Yeshua), the Son of God (YHWH) by his Father, Almighty God (YHWH), and not to the Apostle Peter.   So at last we see the 'rock' upon which the Congregation of God (YHWH) would be built could be NO OTHER that Christ.  Matthew 16:18 has been clarified.

Re: Scripture of the Day

COMBINATION OF [1]  THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY AND [2]   IS SATAN REAL OR JUST THE EVIL WITHIN PEOPLE?

[1]       SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY [VOL. 961A]

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:  15  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.  2 Corinthians 5:14  15,  [authorized King James Bible; AV]

Yes, love for Almighty God (YHWH) will motivate us to imitate Jesus, and to try to imitate his ways as closely as possible.  As 1 Peter 2:21, [AV] says, For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:  Also, 1 John 2:6, [AV] says, He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

[2]   IS SATAN REAL OR JUST THE EVIL WITHIN PEOPLE?

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.  7  And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.  8  And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?  9  Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?  10  Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.  11  But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.  12  And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. (Job 1:6-12 av),
and And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.  7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.  (Job 2:6-7 AV).  Both tell of conversations between God and Satan.  If Satan were just the evil in a person, the evil in this case would have to be in God.  But that is in complete disagreement with what the Bible tells us about God as being One To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. (Psalms 92:15 AV)(see also Revelations 4:8).  It is noteworthy that the Hebrew text uses the expression has Satan (the Satan) in the accounts in Job, showing that reference is being made to the one who is outstandingly the resister of God, And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.  2  And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?  (Zechariah 3:1-2 AV).

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2  Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.  3  And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.  5  And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.  6  And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.  7  If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.  9  And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: 10  For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: 11  And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.  12  And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 13  And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. (Luke 4:11-13) which reports that the Devil endeavored to tempt Jesus to do his bidding.  The account relates statements made by the Devil and answers given by Jesus.  Was Jesus there being tempted by evil within himself?  Such a view does not harmonize with the Bibles description of Jesus as being sinless, For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; (Hebrews 7:26 AV), and   Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: (1 Peter 2:22 AV).  Although at John 6:70 the Greek word di-abo-los is used to describe a bad quality that had developed in Judas Iscariot, And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. (Luke 4:3 AV) the expression ho di-abo-los (the Devil) is used, thus designating a particular person.

Is blaming the Devil just a device used in an effort to escape from responsibility for bad conditions?  Some people blame the Devil for what they themselves do.  In contrast, the Bible shows that humans ofter bear much of the blame for the badness they experience, whether at the hands of other humans or as a result of their own conduct, All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt. (Ecclesiastes 8:9 AV), and   Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7 AV).  Yet, the Bible does not leave us ignorant of the existence and devices of the superhuman foe who has brought so much grief to mankind.  It shows how we can get out from under his control.
